Good performance. Quick boot time. Look and feel is great. Good speakers. Negligible noise. Cons: Really bad camera. Very grainy. Keyboard not very comfortable. Screen is glossy. So can't use under sunlight.

Microphone not working out of the box
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.*** Microphone Mic not working out of box *** Please note the microphone doesn't work out of the box. I tried to let Windows update the driver automatically, Windows said it already had the best driver; I tried to download the audio driver from the HP website, wouldn't install because the driver isn't supported in the OS (Windows 10). I traced down to the event, it appeared that it's caused by a file oem130.inf, which stopped the microphone from starting properly. You can verify the issue if you notice that the internal microphone isn't detected, or the mic on/off button on keyboard doesn't respond, or if there is a yellow triangle under AMD Audio in the Device Manager. I finally reached out to HP support. The fix is pretty simple, go to https://www.amd.com/en/support and download and install the software. Restart a couple of times, all should work fine. It's a shame though that the microphone doesn't work out of the box. For that, I deducted one star. Other than that, the display is pretty thick. I wonder why it needs to be so thick not sure whether it's a result of the touch screen or in order to maintain the rigid. The bottom half is prefect dimension wise. But I wish the touchpad can either be shifted a little further to the left or a little smaller. Lastly, the CPU is supposed to be fairly cool, but the fan is on all the time, and gets loud under moderate load. Battery life doesn't seem to be good either. For all these, I deducted one star. That being said, it's still a good buy for the price I paid $529+tax. The build quality seems solid, and the configuration is right for the price range.

Great price
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Had been shopping and comparing laptops/price for a month and came across this HP Envy 2 in 1 and loved the specs. Compared with Lenovo and this has (8 gb) RAM that’s upgradable unlike the Lenovo that’s soldered. Backlit keyboard (Black not silver which I didn’t like), AMD 3rd gen Ryzen 5 4500U processor, 256 SSD ( would’ve preferred 512 but it’ll do), windows 10, HD screen, speakers are Bang & Olufsen and very loud and clear, 3 cell battery for longer charge and a 15.6” screen. I’ve looked around and so far this was the better deal for under $600. And a 2020 model. From the reviews this looked to be better than a 2019 model with Intel I5 or I7. My wife used it for a zoom meeting and it was good but camera didn’t appear very clear (on our end). But it’ll do. Not a heavy user but will be doing more from home. Had a 2014 HP Notebook window 8.1 , AMD 6 and 4gb memory (which I upgraded later) that was for my son to use in HS. It was ok for him then. I still use it at work but instead of upgrading that to Windows 10 (for the costs) I jumped on the chance for the HP Envy. So far no problems after 3 weeks and set up was very simple. The 2 in 1 was an added bonus we can use to watch videos. I got the service/accidental warranty for 3 years just in case since birthday gift was 10% off one item. But that’s me. If I come across any problems later on I’ll post a review then.

Works great....when it works.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Let me start by saying this is a good laptop. It really does work so nicely MOST of the time. I have had a lot of problems with the internal microphone and accompanying drivers and software. It seems no matter how many updates or how many times I uninstall and reinstall the drivers, conference calls with this internal mic freeze the computer mid-call. As a teacher, teaching remotely you can imagine how maddening this is. Simple work around: use a headset! Haven't had a problem since. Oh and this is the 2nd iteration of this laptop. The first one’s internal mic just flat out broke after 2hrs of use. I returned it and exchanged for a new computer. So.... 3 stars for having such a crummy microphone. I don’t know why HP would produce what should be a simple, robust piece of hardware. Instead it is a gadfly of a problem with this particular laptop. Microphone aside I would give it a 5/5 for value and a 4.5/5 for speed, ease of use, customer support from HP and Microsoft.

Best purchase for 2020
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I love how this laptop's speed is equivalent to an i-core7 processor I used at work. The speakers are amazing with Alexa included! It is great for watching Netflix, doing Live feeds and Zoom meetings. The only downside is the quality of the camera is grainy:( But otherwise, this is one of my best purchases for 2020! It is definitely worth the money and I only paid $679! It almost feels like a high end Dell I have at work which is worth $2k!

Good laptop for the money
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I really like how this laptop looks and functions. The touch screen is nice and works well. My microphone went out in the first month I got it but I sent it in as it was covered by the factory warranty.

Versatile
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I like the ability to use touch screen if I want. Like the ease to light the keys, and to turn sound on and off. Having issues with microphone compatibility with Zoom, and solving the issue through help has not worked. Otherwise, really like this laptop.

Great College Computer
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a great computer. I use it for college and I have no troubles with any tasks and assignments that I do. The color is sharp and the battery lasts a full day for me. I wish the camera were a bit sharper but it works well enough for zoom.

Nice laptop for college
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I had to get a new laptop for classes, and I was really impressed by the quality for the price for this laptop. The sound was great, and while I never used a 2-in-1 laptop before, it was easy for me to learn and use it for notetaking. However, shortly after I got it, the microphone stopped working and none of my professors or classmate could hear me on video calls. IT could not resolve the issue, and they determined it was a bad fluke. I was able to return it without issue, and if I had the option to swap it out for the same model I absolutely would have, but unfortunately they were all sold out.

Taking it back....AGAIN
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I want to give this one a good review but.... It runs great, they've both run great but I had to return the first one due to a faulty screen (vertical green line) and now I guess I have to go back to the store with the second one due to a microphone that doesn't work which doesn't seem like a bid deal except all this working remotely fun stuff. Since I'm returning it for a second time, I'm on the fence about getting a different machine all together. I've only spent about a week in total on this thing but it seems to have some bad juju. This is my first HP and it's giving me heartburn. :( The jury is still out on this one.....

Webcam is 720p, not 1080p!!!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Decent laptop. Had to exchange it because the first one I got had physical and internal issues though. However, it's listed on here as having a 2MP and 1080p camera but it's actually 0.9MP and 720p. I noticed it in my camera settings and then I double checked it on the HP website and it was true. I was pretty disappointed when I found this out so I hope no one else get's fooled. I contacted Best Buy about it so I hope they fix it.

Works well; lots faster & great sound.
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Has worked well so far. Much faster and the sound is ten times better. Can actually hear audio without resorting to ear buds. Only problem experienced is when on video conferencing the system starts "buzzing", a notice says "trouble with the microphone". I can not do any thing with the system until it shuts down on its own. Then I can start back up and it will work fine. Has happened twice so far.

Very versatile
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this to use for school and my side hobby/gig of crafting and it has been perfect for both. The versatility make it the ideal tool for my new online learning environment. The only (really only) issue that I have is that I am a musician and the mic is not great for recordings at all, but I really wasn’t expecting it to be.

Good College Student Laptop
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This computer has a lot of features and seems real solid. We like the two in one feature of folding it over and it's like a big tablet. Had a few issues with the microphone think it is more of a Microsoft issues instead of an HP issue though.

I love HP, but if you work remotely, this isn’t it
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Every time it updates I lose the microphone capability. I had to had the IT Dept at my college help me fix the problem. I love HP products but would recommend one of their other laptops

Beautiful laptop with issues
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Very attractive laptop and the touchscreen works nicely with Microsoft Surface Pen. I use this laptop to teach online but the WiFi is spotty and I frequently get dropped from video conferences with students. I have to switch over to another laptop to continue the class. The microphone sometimes stops working and my students can’t hear me suddenly. This also forces me to switch laptops in the middle of an online lesson. Now I use the HP Envy X360 has a secondary laptop for teaching rather than the primary one.

Speakers & Mic stopped working after 1 1/2 weeks
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Overall it was a good computer until the speakers and the mic no longer worked as I was doing a conference. In the middle of it the mic and speaker stopped working this happened for 3 days I took it back to Best Buy, they supposedly fixed it but the next day it didn't work again. I inform them that I wanted a new computer they supposedly ordered it and almost two weeks in I went there to inquire come to find out the replacement computer was never ordered. At that time it was enough so I canceled my order and requested my refund.

HP Envy x360
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought the HP Envy x360 laptop. Within a few days it wouldn't recognize the WiFi adapter when it was turned on. After restarting it a few times it would finally recognize the adapter. A few days ago the speakers were no longer recognized, restarted a few times and they were recognized again. The next day the microphone was no longer recognized, restarted several times and the microphone was back but the speakers were gone again. Basically, turning on the laptop is an adventure. I never know whether I will have internet connectivity, sound, or a microphone. Can't wait to see what stops working next. Waste of money.

Outdated AMD Driver?
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Had all I wanted, except that the system could not find the microphone, and still can't. Have to Zoom through a telephone until I can give it up for a couple of days. BB Geek squad said I have to bring into the store because they can't fix it online (possible hard drive problem). Thought this would be problem free.
