Good basic printer. No two sided printing and I miss an auto feed feature for scanning etc. It is a little slow.

Have only had a few weeks & it works great. Love that papers I print do not smear when I use a highlighter. I did not make color prints very often, so do not miss my old ink jet printer at all. Easy to set up & use.

This compact printer is a powerhouse! It churns out copies in a flash and the quality is excellent. An added bonus is signing up for the 6 months of free ink from HP. I got my 1st cartridge in the mail just 2 weeks after purchase.

I drive a truck long haul, if you've never been in one its almost like a carnaval ride at times. This machine takes a beating, I followed the advice of the salesman and purchased a lazer instead of inkjet. Works great

I love this printer. This is the first printer I've owned that allows printing from a cell phone. I never thought I would want that option, but over the last week of ownership, I've printed 3 times from my phone. And it couldn't be easier. I also like how small it is, but it still has a flatbed scanner. After installing the HP Smart app, setting computers to print to the M140we was a snap. And the app is well thought out, allowing you to scan or print straight from the app. But be warned... you will only be able to use HP toner in this printer, though HP offers 6 months of free Instant Ink service to dull the pain. Also note there are no ports on this printer, so Wi-Fi is a must.
Overall, I'm very happy with the M140we. It's the smallest MFP I've seen, the quality is typical of HPs excellent laser printers, and it's easy to set up and use...and I can print from my phone!

I like the compact size but I had to return this item because I learned after unboxing that the printer must be connected to the internet at all times in order to print. All I wanted was a stand alone printer that connects and prints via USB cable.

I bought this printer about a year ago. I printed out a 30 page tax return. That, and maybe 10-12 other single sheet documents. It came with 6 months of free "instant ink" which I obviously thought I would never need. The printer sat inside the cabinet for most of the year. Now I pulled it out to print this year's tax return and it has a code saying the toner is low. So bang! for $169 I got maybe 42 pages out of this thing (that's $4.02 per sheet!) and the new toner cartridge is $49. I plan to NOT buy a cartridge, but instead buy a different brand of laser printer. I had one of the original HP LaserJet printers years ago (the 4L I believe) and the toner lasted for literally YEARS and YEARS. HP isn't in the business of selling quality printers. They are now in the expensive toner cartridge business.

Brand response from HP Team
Posted .
Hi, Paddy.
I’m sorry you’ve had a difficult start with your printer. I can wholly understand your disappointment, considering you’ve not found the six months’ worth of toner you expected when you bought the device. I want to help you resolve this issue, so I’ll provide some resources and clarifying information that I hope will reach that goal.
First, the toner cartridge that arrived with your printer is not designed to last six months. Rather, your printer purchase included an option of six months free in our Instant Ink program. In this program, you choose the number of pages you’d like to print monthly, and replacement cartridges are shipped as needed based on usage. You should have had the opportunity to enroll in this free trial offer when you set up the printer.
If you enrolled in Instant Ink, as soon as your printer needs toner, a replacement cartridge should be on its way to you. If you didn’t, the replacement cartridge designed for your printer that you would buy from a retailer has an estimated yield of 950 pages. I can’t be sure what happened with the cartridge that arrived with your printer, but some cartridges come with what are known as setup cartridges, which have a lower capacity than regular or XL cartridges, and less still than Instant Ink cartridges. This could explain what you’re seeing.
If you need further clarification or believe a problem exists with your printer, I recommend that you contact us directly at +1 800-474-6836. To expedite the process, I recommend gathering the following information before the call:
- Model number - Serial number - Your location - Case number (from any previous contact with HP support)
For more information about Instant Ink, I suggest you contact that program. To reach an online agent via chat or by phone, follow this link: - support.hp.com/us-en/contact/product/model/5401249?sku=INSTANTINK2

This HP printer has issues with paper feeding system. After sending the print job to the printer, the paper tray wheels are moving but no paper going inside, therefore not the printer giving error message.
