I thought this was going to be a problem what with no color and with it being a laser printer, never had one before, but nothing like it. I actually like the fact I only need one type of ink. It has been the best printer I have ever had. Works perfectly, easy setup, easy to use, overall it's just perfect! I definably would recommend it to anyone

I LOVE this printer!!! It's pretty, neat, quiet and gets the job done! I purchased it primarily for the fax, which is awesome. Every function on this printer is super easy to include scanning. The installation was a breeze it fits nicely on the corner of my table. It's perfect for a small based business. This is my first time purchasing a laser printer. I highly recommend it over a regular printer. My backup HP printer eats ink like there's no tomorrow. It's truly ridiculous. Laser ink lasts longer and the prints are more clean. A VERY satisfied customer!

I needed this for my business and it was the best choice I made. Doesn’t get hot, prints perfect each time, can print from my phone, can fax out and receive incoming faxes, and doesn’t make a lot of noise. It’s great.

I'm happy with the quality of the images, but setup was a nightmare. Nothing worked on my brand new HP laptop or my 10 year old HP desktop. Tried to follow instructions with the printer, website, chat, and was finally referred to an HP "doctor". Ran this utility on the desktop and once it connected, the laptop connected automatically. Took me over 8 hours to resolve and was extremely frustrating. My job involves networking printers, so I am not a novice and probably would have returned it, but I was determined that it would not win. Part of the frustration was that the documentation/instructions do not even remotely match the printer. For example, settings is not in the same place in the menu as the instructions.

Works as expected. Make nice prints and the fax works well. I probably would have given it 5 stars except when in sleep mode the blue light stays on to show it's connected to my internet and the power button keeps blinking.

Mac Users be ready for troublesome setup problems

HP's support for Apple computers has skidded off-course on the MFP M148FDW. Never in 30 years of using Macs have I been stymied so many times in one day while setting up and working with one printer. It's surprising for me to write this because I purchased the M148FDW to replace an HP Color LaserJet CM1015MFP that has worked flawlessly with every Mac I have owned for 20+ years. HP's choice of managing their own software installation images on their website separate from the Mac App store appears to have allowed their developer teams to stray off the path of strict compatibility with Mac installation standards. This makes the product setup fraught with troubles that could have been avoided had HP complied with Apple development guidelines. Once you get past the setup hurdles, the print quality is very good, and WiFI on-network plus direct wireless is very convenient. But it took the better part of a workday to problem solve the setup.

I bought this printer just for the scan and I can say that it is not the best, but the price was right. It has max resolution of 300 in black and white, not very good if you are sharing tables with small details. Printing is good, clear and fast. It is a good investment for a home office if you just need to print. I really like the size, very compact.

My first laser all-in-one. All previous have been inkjet. As the overwhelming majority of what I print out is black and white, I should’ve moved to this technology long ago. Beats inkjet in copy clarity, print cost and most definitely in speed of printing and scanning. Only downside was that pretty much all instruction has to be gotten from HP website (no manual Included). Instructions were sometimes not very clear. For example, in initial setup you are instructed to remove the toner cartridge but you cannot remove it until you power up the printer; they did not tell you that sequentially in instruction. Also, once you download the HP Smart software you can print, scan and fax from that location On your computer. However you can only copy from a button on the printer itself. But now that it’s up and working I am exceptionally pleased with the performance.

I have read reviews and most people said it is hard to set up the printer. Actually, it is not that hard. I downloaded printer software from HP website and took around 10-15 minutes to finish the set up. Overall for this printer is good, fast printing. Con is about scanner that the picture is not clear. However, I still recommend buying this printer if you don’t use much scanner function.

No problem setting up wireless printing with IPAD. Issue was setting up with my Dell laptop. Purchased order with Geek Squad for assistance. After two hours, tech resolved the problem and I can print wirelessly with my laptop. The only issue that could not be resolved is IP address that is displayed on the printer's screen is incorrect. Tech was able to setup printer on my laptop with the correct info. Other than incorrect IP displayed on printer screen, the printer works fine.

The installation was a problem with their 123.hp.com/LaserJet program with Wifi failed. I had to revert to set-up/installation with a USB connection but with another installation program found in the website support section of LaserJet Pro Pro MFP148. Once past the installation issues, the printer works great. Pretty fast at 30 pages/minute. The Scan quality could be higher resolutions (only 300dpi effective but is fine for making black and white copies

So far so good. Had a little issue setting it up. But soon discovered you need to download drivers from their website, wire it in, then hook it up wireless. Must use the wired cord first then proceed to.hook up witeless.. Like I said so far so good. I have a warranty on it just in case something happens. If so, Then that bad boy will be going back, lol.

I bought this to replace a color ink jet printer. I was tired of all the problems you have with ink jet printer where the print head clogs so I decided to get just a B&W laser. This one does a great job. I have had absolutely no issues. The scanner does scan in color, just a FYI. I find that very useful.
