Great little office printer

It’s a solid unit. Well-built, feels sturdy and heavy. Takes a little oomph to lift it out of the box and set it on the stand. Set up is about as easy as it comes. I am not a fan of having to use an app to set up a printer, and HP obliges by making set up entirely possible from the front panel. The front panel is a brightly colored 4.3” LCD screen and very responsive to the touch.
My main use for the 9135e is as a black and white printer/scanner. My wife is a teacher and is printing out literally hundreds of pages a week, as well as scanning in papers and uploading them to the cloud. The 9135e excels at both. Print quality is excellent, and scan quality with an auto feeder is excellent. I low how there are two trays for paper. My wife often needs to print visual aids on card stock, and having a separate tray that can hold card stock is such a benefit! No more need to swap paper in and out of a tray or accidentally print regular docs on expensive card stock. This is truly a great option to have on a home office printer.
Print cost is always something that is interesting to consider. I have a couple of printers that have the large ink tanks on them that can be refilled, and I do get spoiled by the low cost of printing. A replacement black HP 936 cartridge is around $42 and says it should yield 1,450 pages. Math turns out to be around 3 cents a page for black and white. Color of course is a bit more expensive, with the replacement carts (all three) costing around $80 for ~800 pages. That’s around 10 cents a color copy which isn’t too bad…. But could be better. If you are using this printer as a mostly black and white printer, I feel like you can’t go wrong.

I have had this printer for about 2 weeks now, and I like it a lot. Very nice quality prints. I haven't used the scan yet, but I can update this review later to add my comments on that. One thing I have noticed is that if you turn it off and start it up later, it seems to have problem finding the paper in the tray. All I have to do is slide the paper tray out a few inches, then push it back into place, and the printer immediately clears that error message. I didn't get the Instant Ink option, as I probably will not go through that much ink, and also based on some previous reviews I read. But overall, I am very pleased with this printer and would buy it again. I would advise potential buyers to read some of the detailed reviews where people talk about how they set it up. I found it pretty easy to set up and get running. It took maybe an hour to work through everything. Oh, and HP really did some nice thinking on the packaging. I was a little worried about lifting this pretty heavy printer out of the box, but found that HP had already thought of that and the printer was inside a plastic bag that had nice handles, so it was very easy to remove from the box. Thanks to HP's packaging engineers!
Nice printing. Terrible software. Bad for scanning

Terrible, crappy software. But, it sure prints fast with great print quality.
1.) Terrible setup and installation software. Following the 1-2-3 procedure the WiFi did not work. Downloaded the installation package from HP support. During setup it asked for a printer PIN. After I found that and entered it, the WiFi worked. Why didn't the 1-2-3 installation ask for a PIN.
2.) The sales info said the 9135e can scan to cloud services. Turns out it can't scan to OneDrive personal like my Brother does (only Sharepoint and OneDrivePro). The software to allow scanning from the printer panel is confusing and buggy.
3.) It won't scan multiple pages into 1 pdf file when scanning to a computer folder from the panel. After scanning one page, the display offers to add the next page. But selecting that option does not work. I only get the first page.
4. The WiFi is constantly being dropped. I have to cycle printer power to get it back online.
The software for this printer is total crap. Returning the printer. What a pain.

So far, after a month, I'm pleased with the 9135e. It's fast, relatively quiet, and the print output is good. I don't like the constant reminders for Instant Ink, but that's life now. Moving to the HP Smart concept has reduced the space taken by the old software bundles, but HP Smart can be slow and parts of it not very intuitive. But the printer itself has performed up to expectations.

The copier makes nice copies. They are clear and look great in both color and black and white. The HP Smart app is great and easy to use for all functions. The only negative so far has been it's a bit louder than I would like. But for the cost it was worth a little noise.

The setup of the HP OfficeJet Pro 9135e was very smooth. I was up and running successfully printing within 5 minutes. The only issue I have is that it seems a little noisier than past HP printers but not too bothersome. So far I am happy with the printer.

I just installed this printer and it was a difficult process. I spent 2 hours on it and then spent 2 hours with HP Support on the phone. No install instructions were included in the box and the on screen messages referred me to sites online that were not adequate to complete the install. The need to install all sorts of apps was not clear - HP Smart, HP Scan, HP Easy Start. Also no where did it say where to find the password for the printer, which is a critical piece to the installation.
The Scan to Computer function was the most difficult one to get working and when it finally did work the quality of the scan was terrible. I will have to process the scanning from the computer since the results using the option directly from the printer to the computer is poor.
I have only had it working for one day and it appears to work okay; however, it is much noisier than my previous HP LaserJet printer.
I will add that after 2 hours with HP Support a supervisor took over and he was very good, finally determining what needed to be done. HP Support called today to find out if it was working and since I have only had it up for less than a day, I told them I would know more next week. He has scheduled to call back next week to check. I find that to be extraordinary service.
I will say "yes" to recommending; however, that could change.

This was an easy set up and the printer works great! When you hit print, it has a little delay before it starts, but if you are printing multiple pages, it prints fast.
I like the printer and it has a nice appearence although it may be a little large. The software download was easy and works very well. I had a different brand printer before and it was difficult to use due to the software.
Very nice printer!! I am well pleased!!

I’ve had my HP printer for a few months now. My previous HP printer died on me after having it for 8 or 9 years. So, I needed a printer ASAP. After doing my research, I decided to go with HP again, I’m loving this printer. The printed colors are vibrant. I’m printing documents at a quicker pace. Plus, I kept my subscription with HP where I get mailed cartridges when I start running low. The subscription makes my life easier. This was great pay!

Great printer as it does everything I need. But it is a little awkward to select the correct paper tray when you want to print photos. When I print documents it should automatically select the lower tray, and when I print photos it should automatically select the upper tray

Set up was easy but I am still having trouble scanning to my computer. I can only scan to a flash drive. I'll have to call someone for help as I have tried to trouble shoot myself and wasted a lot of time. I love the key pad and quality of copies and print.

Great options and functions. Is a bit noisy when not in quiet mode. There is little hiccup when logged into a mesh wifi, connection sometimes lodt. Have printed to it from all over the workd to home.

Fax and scan features not used yet. Copier & Printer output very good albeit a bit slower and noisier than expected….especially for 2 sided material. In comparison to 10 yr old hp this replaced, it seems a little less sturdy but it does perform as advertised. Control panel visibility a bit difficult if unit is placed at low level.
