This laptop is a great mid level gaming laptop. It can handle everything I throw at it game wise. Great upgrade options for RAM and Storage. Pro’s: -Powerful. -Screen has good color after some adjustments and smooth 144hz refresh. -Port selections. -Design of laptop sits nicely between elegant and “gamer”. -Upgradeability. -GPU Temps are good. Con’s: - 100w TDP max on GPU. Sits in the middle of TDP range. (70w-130w approximately). Still good just not the best. - Fans at max are very loud. Need headphones at close to max cooling. -CPU runs hot. Usually hovers around 80-90 in normal gaming. - Limited CPU wattage due to optimus. (25-35w) There are some power compromises as with many gaming laptops on this laptop but it’s expected at this price range. I get about 3-4 hours with basic usage on battery but this is made to be used with power adapter plugged in. Overall, it is a great machine and would recommend.

A great Extremely powerful, compact laptop! I was very impressed when I got this thing home and downloaded my programs I use for photo editing. My prior laptop had a powerful intel I7 process but had a very weak GPU, so I had to get a new laptop. One thing about this laptop that really surprised me was Since I take photos and these photos get stored on SD cards I really wanted a built-in SD-card reader. I also knew that most built-in SD-card readers do not have fast read & write speeds.. I was very surprised to see this built-in SD-carder reader, had fantastic read and write speeds for being a built-in unit... 175MB Read speed & 111MB write speed, using a Sandisk Extreme pro SD card. The speed at which I can view/remove & or edit my photos now with a faster memory card reader is amazing! The processor in this laptop Ryzen 7 5800H handles photo editing without any lag at all ... There is nothing at all slow about this laptop ... It just got performance built into every aspect of its design ! i strongly advise anyone that buys this laptop that you read the owner's manual that came with it. or look at the downloadable one from HP... here is why .. this laptop comes with 2 graphics cards.. one is built-in from AMD its good but a lower level GPU than the one that is advertised as coming with this laptop .. Geforce RTX 3060... by default the rtx3060 was turned off.. also the keyboard lighting by default was also turned off. This laptop was great when I first brought it home... BUT... 2 days later after reading the manual on how to do this, now this laptop is amazing !

I love this laptop, it’s fast, it runs everything I want, and (coming from the tiny Razer Blade Stealth) it’s not as bulky as I thought it was going to be! My only real complaint is that it can run pretty hot but it’s nothing horrible.

Got this laptop cause it was at a good price and build quality was good. The only issue on have was getting it running games at 100% this thing should have been ready to go out the box but no I had to dig thru all the settings getting it to run right. This thing is loud when those fans go and for good reason this laptop will easily go to 90c on the CPU the GPU stays around 70c tho which is good. This could be fixed with under volting which I won't do. Other than that its perfectly fine for light gaming and light work and fans won't be too anoyying but if you want to game just have a fan tray with a vacuum sucking air out of the CPU fan to keep it from melting. When its on full power mode and fans screaming it will run all games ultra with full refresh and at 100+ fps.

This is my first ever serious buy when it comes to the world of PC's/PC gaming. So bear in mind I'm still new to many things but I did plenty of research before buying this laptop. So if your wanting to get into PC gaming or you are just wondering how this laptop performs for an average consumer who primarily uses it for gaming and surfing the web with some light application usage, then this review is for YOU! REVIEW - Screen, with 144hz and great color accuracy this screen is fantastic and looks great especially when gaming. - Keyboard, typing on this laptop is a joy and the keys have just enough travel that feel's very satisfying when typing. Having the 4 zone RGB on this is a HUGE bonus and looks awesome. The layout feels just right but if you need a 10 key number pad then I recommend buying an external pad. - Mouse pad, just big enough and feel's smooth when using. Depending on your hand size you might want to have it deactivated and us an external mice when typing as it might accidently activate. Click's are just tactile enough without sounding cheap. - Speakers, this thing actually get's pretty loud! Now remember these are laptop speakers we are talking about so don't expect a booming sound when it comes to music or gaming but they can definitely do the job when it comes to watching YouTube videos or playing certain games that don't require to hear super quiet footsteps. - Size/weight, definitely feels sturdy and not as light as a MacBook air but for sure manageable in a backpack or carrying it around your house from room to room. - Customization, you can upgrade this laptop with increased memory as it comes with 2 slots for m.2 and 2 slots for ram. This one comes with 512 gb of SSD and 16Gb of dual channel RAM. Great to start out with for gaming and storing smaller games but you can always add more storage thanks to the layout of the added slots. - Noise, ok so this is a tricky one. Out of the box this laptop can be very noisy when doing heavy gaming or under heavy load. The Ryzen chipset is automatically boosted to be very aggressive as well as the fan settings so the laptop always has the fan's to almost max setting's when running under heavy loads or even if your just browsing the web you can hear the fan's kick on and it can be annoying. SOOOOO here is the fix that saved me from this..... You can change the boost setting's for the laptop of the CPU. I won't do a full walk through here but just YouTube some video's of how to bring temperature's down on the Ryzen 5600H series and it will literally make this laptop much quieter without sacrificing much performance for anything! - Temperatures, well speaking of temperatures..... This laptop has great cooling and does a good job of keeping the laptop under control via the fan system. Now... like I mentioned above this CPU is setup to very aggressive out of the box and when I changed the boosted setting's my temperature went down..... like ALOT. I run games like DOOM Eteranl and Warzone with CPU temp's at around 70 degrees which is very cool for a laptop. - UI/ OMEN HUB, the laptop comes equipped with the OMEN gaming hub which can allow you to adjust the fan's and performance setting and RGB setting on the fly. The UI is super easy to use even for a dummy. I wish the HUB had a little more options to mess with but overall it will do great for just about anyone. -Ports, the port selection is fantastic and have never needed more than what it provides, I even have this laptop set up to an external monitor which was a breeze to set up. - Performance, ahhhh now for the big one..... This thing has ran any game that I have thrown at it without annnnyyy problem. This thing is a BEAST when it comes to gaming. Warzone I get around 120 FPS on highest setting, DOOM eternal - 130-144 FPS on highest settings I can go on and on about other games but you get the idea. Browsing the web, having multiple tabs open, downloading games, copying files and playing a game all at the same time and this thing will not run out of breath. - Price, for the market and how things are currently this is a fair price point, you get a 3060 GPU that pull in at 100W's and a Ryzen 8 core chipset which is a beast for multitasking or heavy application loads. - HP SERVICE, now for one of my favorite parts and here's why,,,, HP literally saved my laptop.. Long story short I had this laptop for just about only under 3 weeks, I did not but the extended warranty because I take very good care of my things. WELL.... one day I decided to plug my laptop in to a nearby wall and somehow by a freak accident short circuited my laptop and literally blew it up... Still to this day no idea how. Literally.... could not believe it.... my brand new laptop!!! :( So I call HP customer service and explained what happened. They set up a ticket for me and requested some info from me. They sent me a box within 2 days and requested me to ship it to them so they could diagnose what happened... So in my head I was like great how much is this going to cost to repair??? Well they ended up telling me that the motherboard was fried and that they would repair it at no cost AND sent me a loaner laptop while it was getting fixed.... WHAT?! LIKE YOU DONT WANT MY MONEY?! It was unbelievable.... long story short they fixed my laptop and had it back to me within 2 weeks of sending it in and the customer service was friendly and fast. Could not believe it. So for that experience alone this HP product was so worth the buy.

This laptop runs most current games well on ultra graphic settings. I can run Rocket League maxed out and get well over 200FPS. On battery RL will get 50-60FPS. Red Dead 2 runs at 30-40 FPS (plugged in). The laptop has a nice solid metal build. The screen is pleasant to look at with a high refresh rate. The keyboard has nice RGB and feels comfortable to use. There is an extra M2 slot for a second drive. The installed RAM is 1Rx8 and not the cheap 1Rx16. Both RAM slots are accessible. The battery life could be better, average two hours of gaming before it needs to be charged. It's a hot one! I've seen it hit 95C at moments while gaming but that temp is around what I've seen on other comparable gaming laptops with similar specs. Also AMD officially claims 95C is typical by design for Ryzen 5000 CPUs, max is 105C. Changing the fan settings in the Omen Hub doesn't seem to make much of a difference. Other Omens have a Comfort setting but this one does not, maybe a future BIOS update. This is my second try with the Omen 15 Ryzen 7. I exchanged the laptop because the first one did hit 100C+. I spoke to HP about this and they said that is not normal for these laptops. The second one did improve some on temps both on and off battery.

Best gaming laptop I’ve ever owned

I’m going to start by saying that this is by far the most powerful PC I have ever owned. Yes I know you could get more power out of a desktop but with the current shortage of Video cards and insane prices of them. I feel like laptops are an excellent buy right now. That being said.. the Ryzen 7 in this laptop runs fast and stays relatively cool. I have not had any overheating issues at all. The keyboard does get a little warm but it doesn’t bother me at all. When you set the laptop to performance mode, the fans do get a little loud but it is still quieter than my PS4 Pro. Even though the speakers are loud enough to overpower the fans, I would recommend using a headset when gaming in performance mode. I believe the RTX 3060 in this laptop draws upto 115 watts of power which makes for very good performance. It runs every AAA game I have thrown at it with ease. I’m averaging over 120 FPS on just about every game I tried on high / ultra settings. Build quality on the laptop is excellent, and it is very easy to upgrade storage and RAM. It comes with 2 x 8gb sticks of RAM and a 512gb m.2 NVMe drive. It has a second m.2 NVMe drive which is easily accessible and upgradeable. I love that it comes with 2 heat shields already pre installed for your NVMe drives. The battery is huge but honestly I have to plug it in whenever I am going to play games. Battery life is above average when browsing the web or streaming video only. You’ll probably get a solid 1-2 hours on a full charge when gaming on the battery. The screen is of good quality. Colors are pretty vibrant. I wish contrast ratio was a little better but it’s one of the better screens I’ve seen on a gaming laptop under $1500. Speakers are loud, and it has all the ports you need, even an SD card slot! I could honestly ramble about this laptop all night, it’s fantastic. I was shopping around for months for a gaming laptop and I’m very glad I settled on this one. It’s amazing and very beautifully designed. The RGB keyboard has 4 different zones! You can pick 4 different colors at a time! Would I recommend this laptop? Yup! And I’d buy it again! HP knocked it out of the park with this laptop and honestly it has enough power to get whatever you need done. You’ll be future proofed with this machine for at least 5 years for sure. My only gripes with this machine are that the power bricks gets very hot.. make sure you lay it on a cool surface. I wish the screen was a little brighter, and I wish the speakers sounded a little fuller and just a tad louder.

Pro's: Keyboard lights are amazing, comfortable keys, super fast, great graphics, screen clarity is great, fun to use. Con's: Battery life doesn't last very long especially if you plan on leaving your keyboard lights on, it's a little heavy but still portable, you need to make your default graphics card the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060 because by default it goes to the other internal card. Overall: Love this laptop, especially the speed. I can have several windows open doing fifty thousand things and I don't get lag or bogged down in any way. It's able to handle everything I do without a glitch. Love it!

This laptop runs great. I have had only 2 issues, I would get internet delay(bad ping) and I had to reset my laptop twice but thankfully it is fixed. Another issue is the battery, I can’t speak on all laptops but games on the go is not what this laptop is, u have around 1-1 and half hours of game time depending on how straining the game is. This game runs many games at great performance. Fortnite runs at around 300 FPS in performance mode. Call of Duty Warzpne anywhere from 90 - 130 FPS. GTA 5 144 FPS is set as the limit and it runs smoothly as well. This computer is also a little heavier then expected but not overwhelming for the power you get. The design is great and the RBG keyboard works and looks great. I also know that there is a limit on the watts which holds the laptop back a bit, if they uncap the watt limit there’s no telling on how strong and how worth it will be to buy this laptop.

After a week of running this as my main gaming laptop I am very happy with the results so far. First thing I did was open up the laptop and add a 1tb nvme harddrive. The upgrade was painless with the seond m.2 slot with heat spreader. After setup and formatting the new drive I ran this through its paces with my normal game setup of Destiny 2 (130-144fps at highest settings) and Minecraft Dungeons (300 fps max with an average of 270fps). I then ran some stress testing to check my silicon lottery and found I got fairly luckly personally but performance will slightly vary (no major heating issues though CPU runs warm but never thermal throttles, GPU never got above 80 degrees C). Only issues I have is getting VR to run properly through Oculus Link. Seems the laptop is having issues using the GPU instead of internal graphics for Oculus link specifically. Other VR options will vary there as well. Also it seem while stated previously this laptop has a MUX from what I can tell it does not, or at least no control of said MUX from software beyond "Balanced" and "Peformance" modes. No real info inside the digital manual on the laptop. Pros: - Excelent price to performance - RTX 3060 is 100w max with 60-65 max on just battery from what I can tell. - Battery life 4 times longer than my previous gaming laptop. Cons: - Can be loud when at full fan speed - Not Fully VR Ready - Manual from HP is not very clear on MUX info

Great laptop. I bought it 2 years ago and it's still running great. I used it for gaming while I couldn't get a graphics card for my desktop during COVID, and also used it to run Solidworks at my engineering job. The only issue I had is that it was pretty much useless without the charger - it's a powerful laptop but it drains battery. I no longer need it for Solidworks and no longer play games on it. I know use this laptop as a dedicated testing server where it's running high-workload software 24/7. It still runs great, especially for my current use case. I got a new MacBook Pro to use as a laptop now because my workload has changed to now value super long battery life as opposed to heavy engineering graphics programs. If you need a "mobile desktop" this is a great option.

Overall I pretty good gaming laptop. I bought this for college, which I’m also a pretty avid gamer, so I was looking for decent laptop. It runs solid, I got solid 60-100 frames on Rust with full settings. The screen is great quality with clear very clear picture. The keys and mousepad feel a bit cheap but the rgb is bright and colorful. The laptop can get a bit heavy, but that’s not something I mind. My biggest and pretty much I only complaint is the battery life. Even with battery saver, nothing open, nothing running in the background, you’ll get 3-4 hours maximum of usage. I feel it was overpriced, but a pretty solid laptop.

So far I like this laptop. The hardware components (screen, keyboard, touchpad, ports) work and feel well. My only complaint is that the fan can get quite loud when the CPU is under load. For upgrade, the back is relatively easy to open (by unscrewing 8 screws and using a non-marring tool to lightly pry the back off). There is an extra slot for a second NVME m.2 SSD drive. For those who are planning to add more RAM, there is no XMP profile in the BIOS or software. You will need RAM that supports 3200MHz without overclocking.
