My old desktop was starting to have problems with the video card maxing out on games. I had planned on updating it myself, but then found this one which was less than the component parts I would have needed to buy to update my old one. I used to wait quite a while between turns on Civilization VI. With this one, I hit end turn and it's almost instantly my turn again. In fact, I used to watch shows while I played because of the time between turns. Now, by the time I hit 'end turn' and start to think about what I might want to do next time, it's my turn already. Fast with great video card. I liked it so well, I also bought the laptop version for when I travel.

I'm very happy with HP Omen, it does everything I need it to do and more. It boots up really fast due to the solid state drive and it plays most games maxed out, I can't say enough good things about it.

Solid HW with poor Cooling
TDLR: HP Omen has very solid HW that makes a great PC for gaming with the ability to tinker with it in a solid looking case, hampered however by poor airflow.
SPECS
Solid Intel 9700 that will give you 8 full CPU cores that provide solid performance for any game you want to throw at the CPU. The Nvidia 1660 TI 6GB card is a solid gaming card at 1080p with just about everything turned on or 1440p with some adjustments to keep the framerate at 60fps+. It does have 16GB of RAM and HP clearly sates it is one stick. Depending on the workload you want use the PC for a single stick of RAM can have a slight to noticeable performance impact. It depends on how Memory intensive the application is. However this difference is really only noticeable if you had two sticks and then took one out, if you are starting with this PC no worries, but I highly recommend you plan on getting a second stick for the extra performance. The boot drive is an NVME so you will get plenty of speed on bootup and Windows will be snappy no doubt. They have a 1TB standard HDD to store your games. They also added a Wireless Bluetooth card as well as a decent amount of USB and other ports for connecting peripherals. The Power Supply is 500W 80+ standard looking ATX.
The Case
The Case allows for simple upgrades to add or swap parts, and it was nice to see HP providing a case designed for easy user upgrade. It is a Nice looking case with tempered glass. The down side is HP doesn’t believe in a thing called airflow. To make this look clean they have the front panel blocked with your HDD, and the exhaust fan isn’t even 120MM for airflow. No additional intake, so as you use your PC it will get hot, and while Intel CPU’s can get to 90C before really wanting to throttle, Nvidia GPU’s tend to slow down, per Gamers Nexus, for every extra 5C in the case. So keeping a case cool with airflow improves your performance. The design of the case as well doesn’t leave many options to add fans. Though they did include a Water cooling AIO Header so you can improve your CPU Cooling. Ideally I’d like more intake. Honestly as nice as the case look I may just find something like a Fractal Meshify or some other airflow case and move the parts to get the max out of them.
Use
Note, I don’t know what HP installed by default since I wiped the drive and loaded Windows 10 1903 that was just released, so I can’t say if they pre-installed anything like McAfee which makes the PC perform sub optimally. Installing Windows though was fast on the NVME drive and once I got Steam/GOG installed and a few games moved over I was happy with the performance, though after a longer session I noticed my GPU max boost clock dropping and I was losing frames. To deal with it in the interim I removed the side panel and pointed a fan at it (I know dust) and that allowed the gaming to continue at the higher clocks I saw when I first started my game.
Overall, I love the HW it has great potential and a decent upgrade path, but the lack of airflow limits this hardware from reaching true battle station and lives in the middle of the road. The parts are good with a nice forward upgrade path and if you are daring swapping the case to something with more airflow, taking off the sides or adding some fans may make it reach higher then the 3 stars I gave it. Hopefully going forward HP will focus not only the look but allowing the case to breath so the gaming can go all the time.

During my first few days with the Omen I have been pleased with the power and responsiveness of the computer. I don't use it for games. I have a huge database and the smaller RAM computers I've owned could no longer handle the processing. Whenever I needed to add a record, modify a record or perform even the simplest actions the old desktop I own was sluggish.
This machine keeps up with me, each action I take is handled flawlessly and without delay. I expect this computer to last me many years and provide the power and ease of use that I need to accomplish my goals.

Overall a great pc for casual gamers. I get well over 200 FPS on fortnite with epic settings. It runs smooth and looks good. However I also bought a Corsair liquid cooler which helps keep the system cool

So after using a gaming PC my whole college career i wanted to get a PCC> tbh i would of built on but i just got lazy. THUS THE HP OMEN got my eye. So do i like it?
YUP. its a great pre-build PC and the price was not bad (I did get it on a sale, so i would say look for sale).
The only issue I have is the build in Wifi adapter. Holy cow this this is bad. literally it will get ping spikes and cause my gaming seshes to be annoying. I ended up buying a $20 wifi adapter and problem solved. another issue is the heat. I guess due to the fan locations, it gets gotter than typical PC, but ehh.
Overall, its fast, great for a first prebuilt gaming laptop.

This computer is a huge upgrade over my 2nd gen I7, and is much faster in all areas. Graphics are great too. My only complaint is that RealTek will not install properly on the system. I've tried workarounds and it wont show in control panel. The sound is fine.

Purchased this desktop to replace an All-In-One that was zapped by a lightening strike. Wanted to be sure that the computer I bought would support Oculus Rift should I decide to purchase that VR system. It is a great computer and is fast enough to do anything I have thrown at it. As an older consumer, I don't really care about the fact that the side panel is clear and you can see the inside of the computer but I am sure it is something novel for the younger crowd. I have owned many HP products over the years and have always had great results with them.

Purchased this PC for my son for Christmas last year as he wanted to get into PC gaming. The only thing I did was add another stick of RAM to double it but that was recently. It has played every game without any problems or issues for him and is still going strong.
We picked it up on sale ($850. Black Friday) and you could not build it for that price at the time if you purchased all of the same components. Well, you probably could but but it would be awfully close. A year later and he is still happy with it so I am too!

This set up and price is perfect for anyone who doesn’t mind gaming on 1080p. Especially when this goes on sale, unbeatable. The computer is much better built than I expect and you can easily upgrade in the future. If you absolutely have to play in 4K then you’ll need an RTX card. But this machine runs well and performs well. Some concern is that the machine gets extra hot, but I feel like that it only happens if you have all settings maxed out in your game. Which personally for me isn’t necessary. I have this paired with and Acer 1080p gaming monitor and it’s amazing.

An excellent PC, with no additions required to run things smoothly and quickly.
The case has customizable LED lights on the interior, and the front logo. Easy latching glass side panel, instead of traditional thumb screws.
This PC has been able to run anything I've tested so far at maximum settings. Hunt: Showdown, Dark Souls 3, Overwatch, and Grand Theft Auto 5 have all played above 60 fps, at maximum settings. Windows Start-up time is about 5 seconds.
The hard drive is a bit small at 1TB HDD, and 256GB SSD, but shouldn't cause any issues, and also could be expanded if needed.

Bought this computer for my mother when we were in quarantine. She really wanted to play Elder Scrolls Online with me and this computer was the perfect PC for her. It plays games extremely well and has been reliable thus far. Of course you will always get better value building your own PC, however, if you are intimidated by that thought or just want something to use quickly then this computer will work perfectly for you. In lieu of the ever elusive PS5 this is a fantastic alternative.

Before buying this PC I had only ever owned cheap laptops that were meant for budget gaming. After looking into multiple desktop and laptop computers available at Best Buy I decided on this one because it’s price point is definitely worth what this thing has packed inside of it. Every game has played like a charm! It has amazing performance and from my experiences it has so much hardware packed inside of it that it’s worth every penny spent on it.
