He was using a really old Windows XP system, and was due for an upgrade (about a decade ago). But he doesn't use many programs outside of the internet, Quicken, and email. I wanted something future-resistant for him, but I also didn't want to break the bank with an overkill laptop. A touchscreen laptop would've complicated things, so I stayed with a traditional style. This laptop has really good build quality for the price. The touchpad could be a little more responsive, so you'll probably want to use a mouse when you're at your desk. The screen could be a little better, but he doesn't consume any multimedia on his computer, so that isn't really an issue. I'm personally not a fan of AMD processors, but this A10 had higher benchmarks than everything else in the price. And the 6GB of RAM was just icing on the cake (compared to 4GB on most other laptops in this price range). I would be happy to answer any questions about this device since there aren't many reviews currently available.

No Touch Screen, don't mind, this laptop works as and how you want! You want to play a high graphic game at loss of a very little game play speed it can do it. Not only games but also other high graphic softwares work just fine. If You are looking for a computer that performs enough for You to get your work done in high graphic world then this is Your laptop

the price is really good for what it offers, the screen looks good, it is really easy to use, is fast. All what you need of a medium price computer. I am really happy with it.

its not a top of the lie laptop however for the cost i find this to be a very nice laptop i love playing games and watching movies on it. overall probably the best laptop out there for under $500

My purchase was intended to be an "entry level" gaming laptop. The next step up in specs was a decent jump in price. The AMD10 with 6GB (weird number... usually 4 or 8, right?) has done pretty well. I haven't experienced lag on most games. That said, anything really graphic intensive will push this to its limits. For non-gaming tasks, like presentations or web development, it performs very well. The price point makes this is an excellent laptop.

I've only had the laptop for one month but I love it so far. I use it for school and work and it runs great. Only negative is the TouchPad which is very sensitive and constantly expanding when I'm scrolling. I bought a wireless mouse instead and have no complaints now.

Though it will be used for the normal stuff too, the laptop is mostly being used to run a sewing/embroidery machine and some specialized design software. Her older machine simply died and we could not simply transfer the proprietary software. Emergency! Our Best Buy sales-folks led us to this laptop. Not expensive, full of improved features, like Win 10, larger high-def screen, and much more RAM and Hard Drive, all in a prettier case ... sure made the wife happy!!

This laptop is solid in that it's fairly fast and lightweight to make it easy for traveling. However, we have been having some problems with the WiFi from time-to-time. Believe this is related to a driver problem with Windows 10 or with the virus software installed (Kapersky). Since this is my daughters laptop while away at school, I have not been able to trouble shoot the problem. Otherwise, the computer works great.

Quiet as a mouse and easy to set up. I have no complaints after almost two months of use. The ONLY reason it does not get a five-star review is the fact that it runs on Windows 10, otherwise, I would say this is the best laptop purchase I have ever made and I have had various laptops for many years. HP is my favorite "flavor".

I'm not a big fan of integrated touch pads. Call me old fashioned but I prefer a mouse. I do like the rather long battery life and the 1 terabyte hard disk!

Bought this for my daughter's birthday. I had no exposure to Windows 10 before buying this computer. Other than the fact that I am unfamiliar with Windows 10, I like most everything about it. It does everything she needs it to do.

This is a great deal for the power this laptop packs. The only issues I've had with it is that my iPod seems to freeze the computer whenever it's plugged in. I don't think it is anything to do with the product though.

This laptop or notebook is lightweight, and has everything I wanted. Its also the perfect size with a nice screen. 1TB hard drive has plenty of space for music and files. I don't play games so I cannot comment on game speed.

I was looking for a laptop for my college-age daughter, and we needed it quick due to her prior machine dieing and her enrollment in online classes. We bought this lower-end laptop looking for good experience online and basic word processing. The machine processes well, including streaming video. It even handles the SIMS games my daughter likes to play. Good laptop for the price.

Bought this for my college student nephew and he loves it. It was also very affordable especially with lots of hard drive space and ram. Design of the laptop is ok but overall the specs are great for students.

This computer is a good computer because it is a good value and it can store a lot of information I use it a lot for pictures and artwork because I am an artist and I have a lot of things that I need to take pictures of so that I can show it to other people and hopefully make a sale and it helps me greatly because then I can reach An audience and possibly make more sales

Lots of memory, fast running, works well to play Minecraft.
