Customers are saying

Customers highly value the Spectre Folio Leather 2-in-1 laptop for its luxurious leather design, portability, and touchscreen capabilities. They appreciate its thin and light profile, as well as its impressive battery life and performance. However, some customers have expressed concerns about its price, below-average speakers, limited RAM, short warranty, and the pen's slippery tip.

It is wonderful. No more trying to use a tablet with a keyboard digging into your palm. The pen works really well. Is it perfect? No, but welcome to reality - nothing is. One of my gripes is that the backlit keyboard does not provide an even illumination around the keys. You can see them fine, but it isn't as evenly distributed as on other (larger) computers. I chock this up to the thinness of the device. Performance (I have the i7) is entirely satisfactory.

Great device for office work - handles email, web, etc with a breeze. However it’s a “core M” system and it does bog down pretty quickly if you get it busy with big data or a bunch of apps. Love the overall design for converting from laptop to tablet - far better than a Surface Pro. Agree with others that trackpad could be better but it’s livable. People seem to love the leather, though I’m a little indifferent to it. Worry I’ll get it wet.

Purchased this laptop after my Surface Book was given to my child. Good laptop with nice features. Easy to use and light weight, which is good for traveling. The speakers are not very loud and you need a connector just to hook in an external hard drive, but they aren't expensive to purchase. Would recommend.

The pen slips out of the loop, so I store it separately because I'm afraid I'll lose it. Upgraded the pen. Overall, I love this laptop. I wish it switched orientation from laptop to tablet mode a little quicker. You need a USB-C hub with it.

I WAS SO STUCK ON HAVING A LAPTOP, BUT AT THE SAME TIME I WANTED A TABLET. THIS IS THE PERFECT COMBO OF BOTH. ITS A WIN WIN. I LOVE THE SLEEK THIN LEATHER DESIGN OF THE BUILT IN KEYBOARD/COVER, BUT ALSO LOVE THAT THE SCREEN CAN STAND ON ITS OWN WITHOUT A KICKSTAND UNLIKE MY PREVIOUS SURFACE MODEL I HAD, HP FOLIO CAN STAND ON ITS ON IN LAPTOP MODE, OR BEND OUT HALF WAY TO VIEWING MODE, OR LAY FLAT COMPLETELY TO TABLET MODE. I ESPECIALLY LIKED THIS OVER THE 360 VERSIONS THAT ROTATES AND FOLDS THE KEYBOARD BEHIND, THIS ACTUALLY HIDES THE KEYBOARD. ALSO HP GIVES YOU A PEN STYLUS INCLUDED! DEF GET THE PROTECTION PLAN. *******IF YOU ARE LIKE MYSELF AND ALWAYS HAVE TO STAY CONNECTED, BEST BUY DOES NOT OFFER A 4G CELLULAR VERSION OF THIS LAPTOP/TABLET. HP DOES HAVE 4G VERSION ON THEIR SITE DIRECTLY FROM THE MANUFACTURER. EITHER VERSION IS A GREAT PRODUCT!

I really like my Folio... it is a great laptop/tablet rolled into one... I was wanting one of these for over a year... and finally pulled the trigger... it is well worth it... I have other High Quality Laptops and Desktops... but this is my go to now... easy to transport and enough power to complete all my work activities... Thanx BestBuy! and HP

Switched from a 15yo laptop to the Spectre Folio and WOW, what a difference! The touch screen is so easy and convenient. The slim design makes for easy travel, and the leather is such a beautiful addition. I also use it for photo editing and it is so easy to use and the screen is bright and vibrant. It has far exceeded my expectations.

Nothing about this laptop is particularly impressive. Even though I purchased it at a discounted price, I still feel like I should have went with a different device at full price: - Switching to the tablet gets old: The unique way the screen flips is cool and useful, but you can't be in a rush or half-paying attention. If you are not careful, you risk scraping the keyboard. I prefer raised keys, but for this computer, this kind of keyboard increases the likelihood that you will damage the buttons. Even when I take my time, I have to be very careful and keep the bottom of the screen as far from the keyboard as possible. - Built-in Camera: It's hot garbage. I don't know how else to describe it. Even in the best natural light, you can barely make out my facial expressions. - Sticky/broken buttons: Three weeks into using this device, The mute button jammed. I rarely use this button, so I was very surprised when it not only malfunctioned but popped off the keyboard when I tried to wiggle it out of the jam. - Constantly prompted to restart my device: Since owning this laptop I have had to restart my computer almost daily for reasons outside of updates. This is not the device for you if you typically have multiple windows open, as setting up your programs and desktop screens repeatedly will get frustrating. - Underwhelming performance: Sometimes I exit out of every other program except for chrome and a drawing program (such as Krita or Sketchable). Drawing simple lines are okay, but once I start coloring, I notice that videos will lag or stop playing in the background. The computer generally struggles with tasks that I never had an issue with on my old Microsoft device. The device also has a hard time switching displays. (I use a USB-C to HDMI cable.) Going from duplicate to extend seems to overwhelm the device. This is especially true when there is any media open or playing. - The pen: I hope the pen wasn't considered in the cost of this device, because it's not great for writing or drawing. I believe HP has nicer pens available, but the one that came with this device is barely better than just using my hands. Also do not expect the pen to come with any useful instructions beyond installing the battery. Overall, I definitely regret this purchase. If you are going to pay ~$1k for a computer, skip this one. You're paying for style not function.

Nice look and light weight. excellent laptop for easy working spaces. Only issue is when moving curser to type in pin or emails or password - consistently goes to box that states :past, close, copy etc. - rather irritating when working quickly.

This laptop is built well, light, fast, and is great for the on the go person. the backlit keyboard is great for dark rooms and the tablet mode is great for hotels and video viewing. I do not use the pen that came with it but would be nice if you had to take lots of notes or sign lots of documents (real estate, lending, etc). The only complaint I have is that the microphone does not work when using Zoom or any video capabilities. Geek Squad said that HP used a bad quality part and it is not defective....others have not had this complaint so I think mine is broken but I can't lose the laptop for 2 months to the service center process since it is used for work. I am a lot upset about this and would not purchase again. Should have bought a MacBook like I wanted originally.

I absolutely love the keyboard and the leather case. The color is vibrant and sharp. I couldn’t be more pleased with this purchase.

Overall the USE of the computer and functionality was decent - I used it in my real estate business at home and on the go. My favorite was the fact it would go my entire day unplugged and be fine on battery life. The reason for the 2 star is very similar complaint with all other bad reviews which is my touch screen went out after 20 months, and then the leather started to come apart at the edges. I would not recommend this product to someone else. The computer is too expensive for the quality .

This is a real computer, and it works beautifully. I am very happy with it and use it for presentations and for webinars. It's super. I use it in addition to my desktop, for specific purposes. It does not take the place of my computer, but it travels very well.

I love this laptop. The battery life and performance are amazing. The asteathics are very pleasing I get a lot of compliments. It’s a two core with 4 threads i7 but is way faster and saves battery life over my older Spectre that ran on a higher frequency chip (lower boost speed though).

This is a very handling computer, I'm really satisfied with my purchase , is also very versatile to switch between Laptop and Tablet , this Intel i7 version is extremely fast and the 256GB storage SDD is quite enough and safe for the daily office and home task.

Love the versatility and speed. Espeially fond of the leather cover - it's an eye-catcher. The images on the nice, thin screen are excellent indoors but less so outdoors. The feature I like the best is that it is quickly converted into a pad and easily fits under my extra wide monitor for photo post-processing. This enables me to put the pad directly under the monitor and have it directly in front of me - something I've never been able to do with my other laptop because of having to raise it's screen to use. My one disappointment is that there is no older USB port I can use my current mouse with. I MUST have a mouse on some detail work. I hope there is a USB adapter available for the 3 ports on this machine, otherwise I'll need to buy a new mouse. This model truly deserves a test drive. I didn't get the HD model or the one with a larger screen - this one is perfect for my needs and fits in more places. I'd do it again.
