I was long long over due for an upgrade and I already had a HP Envy from 4 yes ago and it was time for something new and fast and the New HP Spectre x360 is amazing. It's start up is like 5 seconds which is the fastest I've seen... And it's super light weight which is great.

I am generally pleased with my purchase. Battery life was an issue as noted by several reviewers before I purchased. Needed to do a BIOS update and that increased life from about 6 hrs. to 10-11. Just keep the BIOS update in mind. I am not much of a tablet person, but bought this to have the option available. I bought the i7 processor because I do a lot of math heavy work and have multiple proprietary analytical programs open simultaneously and this unit has worked well under those conditions. I would have preferred to have a 1 TB SSD drive available, as it is I may have to upgrade to a 1 TB in the near future. Lack of 1 TB option is a definite negative for this computer given all of the other superior features. Screen clarity is great. USB 3 ports seem well powered, I have a Tron 4 port USB 3 hub (non powered) and have been able to plug in 2 SSD drives the hub and have both readable and fast for data transfer (I haven't tried transfer between the 2 external drives, however). There were reviewers complaining about excessive heat when running on battery power, I have not notice that, although I am not running games or video which would really put a load on the battery. I bought a couple of after market 45 Watt power supplies to use when traveling and have had not issues. The battery recharge is quite rapid, but I can pretty much be on battery power all day at a meeting without running out of power. One final remark about something I discovered by chance; I have a 125 Watt hour portable battery that I used with my older computers when traveling. It is sold by Power-U, but I have seen similar units from other vendors. Anyway non of the tips that came with this unit were going to fit the much small plug-in on the HP 360 Spectre. I thought I would have to invest in a new external battery, just to have the comfort level of spare power. While looking for an affordable external battery I found the Lizone AC Power cord charger Laptop adapter tip connector converter that works with one of tips from my old external battery and allows me to continue to use the old unit. I found this on Amazon. So for $10 I saved the cost of $100 external battery. Only other issue I have is that Windows 10 is a chore to get accustomed to from Win 7 and the whole tablet centered universe is not what I normally use. Also be prepared to switch to Microsoft Edge because Explorer 11, while it works on this computer, is not optimized for this computer. Edge also takes some getting accustomed to. Also like every other new computer there is a lot of bloat ware, you just need to purge all of that garbage and get down to the basic unit.

This is the first HP I've purchased in over 12 years and I'm overly impressed with the build quality. Everything is metal except for the bottom cover, which is contoured plastic. I did quite a bit of research and reviewed more than 6 manufacturers before finally narrowing it down to this particular machine. The core i7 is fast and the boot time is less than 10 seconds with the SSD installed. RAM is more than adequate for a non-gamer, however I have a feeling that this machine wouldn't have any problems running a mid-spec'd game. Wifi is fantastic and the 5G (ac) from my router is full strength no matter where I am in my home. This model has the QHD 2560x1440 resolution IPS display and well worth the additional money over the 256GB SSD model below this one with a FHD 1920x1080 resolution display (both sold here). I still can't believe how good this looks when watching a blu-ray compared to my HD television. If you're hesitant about HP, take another look and go see it in person. That's what sold me and confirmed I made the right choice. Extremely happy with my decision!!

My daughter loves the laptop - loves it. She has had no problem with excessive heat or inadvertently hitting the track pad as some reviews have mentioned. It does not get any warmer than her other laptop. She likes the slightly wider track pad better than the standard size, because it's easier to use. It is very light, but a well built machine. Looks sleek and solid, too. Boots-up and shuts-down very fast with the solid state hard drive. Screen is crystal clear. Very fast operating system. It's a little expensive, but the quality is worth it. Pay attention to the key boards on other laptops. Many keys felt cheap and some boards flexed a lot. This keyboard is rock solid and should give many years of service. Key back lights give just enough shine to work in dim areas without extra light and can be turned of if desired with one key stroke. Very nice feature. Battery life is excellent. Price was the only negative so far, but we feel we got what we paid for.

I had high hopes for this computer. I hadn't purchased a new system in 8+ yrs, so you can imagine having to wrap your hands around all of the tech changes. I researched laptops to death and decided on this b/c I didn't want to pay the bloated amount for a Macbook. Of course this machine is screaming fast compared to my previous 8 YO Dell XPS. It's super light, super fast and the display is awesome. Here are some of the things I would change: I don't like the feel of the silver finish. It's kind of plasticy and I can see this not wearing well. I wish it was more of a matte finish. It seems to show everything that comes in contact with it. The keyboard...hate it. My Dell XPS has backlighting too, so that was a necessity, but the keys on the Sceptre are also silver. So, silver keys and very light backlighting makes it very difficult to actually see the keys in low light. Yes, I am proficient at typing, but that coloration is really distracting. The keys also just don't "feel" right. Onto battery life. They tout this to have exceptional battery life. I used it a few nights to binge watch Netflix and it really chewed up battery. I don't think it lasted more than say.... 4, maybe 5 hrs. I was pretty disappointed since I chose to use the new computer vs my iPad. I would of been better off w/ the iPad. Overall, it's a vast improvement over my Windows Vista XPS machine. I like that it's a 2-1, although that wasn't necessary. The touchscreen is cool and the size & weight seems perfect. If I wanted to improve it, the battery would last longer, they would of used a different color for the keys for better contrast (they are hard to read in regular light too) and the back face of the laptop would be a matte, or different material.

My initial research pointed me to two 2inones the Spectre and Lenovo yoga3. I still feel the same 6 months later. Wanted: ssd for boot & speed, slim & light for using as tablet and long battery life. I picked Spectre because aluminum case vs plastic case although I liked yoga better for watch and hinge that looked more durable. I have had the HP for 6months and I love it but it get very hot against my leg when I an sitting on couch due to covering vents from poor placement. I really like the fit and finish the detail is superb but I think the Lenovo would have been better with heat exchange due to material. The heat issue is minimal as a lap desk or towel can help with heat issue. I still love computer and most of time use it on a flat table.

Would rate 4.5 stars but (had to choose) 5 because pros outweigh cons. To add my experiences with some issues others have shared: 1) Laptop overheating- This is not a gaming pc. After 1 month I have not had this experience (avoid blocking exhaust vent and you should be ok) 2) Wi-Fi connectivity- I've had a few minor issues at school but at least at home I can reset my own wireless router 3) Combined use of Wi-Fi & Bluetooth- My one and only significant complaint with this model. It is nearly impossible to stay connected to Wi-Fi while using Bluetooth devices. This was a drag as I could no longer use my wireless headphones to listen to music or online class lectures. Otherwise, this is a great (relatively affordable) model for college students looking to scale down from having a separate laptop and tablet.

This is a great, versatile laptop/tablet! I like it much! It does have issues as far as software and glitches, but HP is quick to respond to these issues.I have received the "blue screen of death" more times than I would expect, though I think it is a a conflict of security programs, but just not sure. Overall, I find it very useful and a great buy!

This laptop was not cheap but worth every penny in my opinion. My old laptop was about 8 to 9 years old and clunky. This laptop is very portable and lightweight. There are many advantages to this laptop over other types that Best Buy offers. Very slim, lightweight, sturdy keyboard & hardware (not going to fall apart at a moment's notice), silent & fast running (thanks to the built-in ssd), touchscreen that's accurate (I don't use a stylus), great graphic display & high resolution. I think the only problem I have with the laptop is windows 10 itself (not the actual laptop). I feel windows 10 isn't streamlines enough for any 2-in-1 laptop. I can still access 2 different versions of the computer settings, HP system support that comes with windows 10 is faulty, and there are a few other kinks in the system that become obvious the more you use the computer. Overall the actual laptop is 10/10 but windows 10 is only a 7/10. I do miss my windows 7 os on my old laptop but that's the only thing.

This HP Laptop is Very Fast, lightweight and compact. The Bang & Olufsen speakers have an AWESOME sound !!! Now the Bad and reason of the Four star rating: The graphics card stopped working in the first week of ownership. I returned it to Best Buy who gave me a new laptop. The second laptop stopped working. I made contact with HP who took control of my laptop and reworked my software settings. The Tech said it was a Windows 10 issue.

I bought the spectre last month and so far it's a great machine! Mainly used for watching series and photo editing in lightroom and it works like a charm. Only downside is that the battery life is far from the advertised 12 hours. Most i can get is 8 hours on light usage, and around 6 hours on moderate/heavy usage maybe because this model has the optional QHD screen. I recommend buying a separate touch mouse when in tablet mode to keep this amazing screen shining bright with no fingerprints.

Love the computer. Lots of new features. I'm learning to love the touch screen. Geek Squad did nothing but copy my old C-Drive onto my desktop and charge me $100. I was going to wait to purchase, but since I was an elite member the sales person assured me I could get a price adjustment. However when attempting to get that adjustment they refused because it fell on Black Friday. It will be the last item I ever purchase from a Best Buy. That $200 will loose them thousands from me or my family. I hope it was worth it!

    Flawless After Software Updates

Pros: ===== -Appropriately sized keyboard - no tiny keys here accept for the rarely used Up/Down arrows -Sturdy aluminum chassis feels high end and like it will last -Wonderful battery life, easily lasts a week of typical usage for us before needing to be plugged in (A few hours a night) -Vibrant crystal clear screen -Sound is plenty loud, it's not until nearly max volume that you notice major distortion (Which is remarkable for how small the speakers are to fit in this tiny machine). Cons: ===== -Touchpad takes some getting used to, and needs a driver update immediately upon unboxing (Read below) -Some might consider this a con (Doesn't bother me or my wife), but when you tap/touch the touchpad there is an ever so slight "click". You won't notice it at all during normal noise levels, but in a quiet room you definitely hear it. The Dirty Details: ============= This laptop was purchased for family use - particularly my wife and I. As a software developer I much prefer the physical keyboard you get with a traditional laptop, while my wife found herself using our tablets far more often than our old laptop. This 2 in 1 seemed like the perfect blend of those two use cases! First and foremost - when you get this laptop, immediately go to HP's website and download all of the latest drivers (Particularly the touchpad). It would seem that since manufacturing there have been a lot of issues correctly via software update - specifically I was having problems getting my touchpad to remember it's settings. Post update, no problems (My wife wanted the right side of the touchpad to act as a scroll wheel much like our old laptop did). Having the extra wide touchpad took some adjusting - particularly when trying to right click, the first week I found myself accidentally left clicking because I hadn't gone far enough over on the massive trackpad. Now though I have no problems hitting exactly the right button (And it helps that you can use two fingers to tap the touchpad which also acts like right-click). My wife absolutely loves that she can scroll around websites and click by touching the screen just like her phone or tablet - she finds that much simpler to use than the touchpad. The touch screen seems incredibly responsive. My last gripe is more to do with my experience inside Best Buy than it is with the computer - in the store you will notice that the gold/brown finish is $150 more than the silver finish. When I asked why a color change would be worth $150 more the associate tried to convince me that the different color was made of different materials that made it lighter and thus lighter = higher cost. Problem with that theory is that it's 100% completely false - I showed him both Best Buys website as well as HP's website where both show that they weigh the exact same amount, with the exact same specs, and he still tried to tell me that the extra $150 was because the gold/brown model was clearly lighter. The reality seems to be that the gold/brown model is simply a newer color option, and HP felt the need to charge more for that (Which is completely absurd to me) - so we saved our $150 and went with the silver model. Overall a month into ownership we are very happy with this lightweight, powerful, stylish little machine!

Elegant look, Easy to use, Lovely keyboard, over all I love this laptop. One minor issue, sometime the touch pad is not responding smoothly. But I don't find this as difficult it happens rarely and again when I use mouse I don't worry about this. Finally, the HP stylus is worthless don't buy HP I tried lot of stylus but nothing great, at last I ended with Jot Pro. It works fine on my laptop, mobile and tap. Once again this is a best buy, I bought it on price match for $1050.

So far so good with this laptop! It's amazing how fast this thing actually is with the SSD drive. Bought it as a replacement for 2 separate desktops and I'm so happy I did--this is way faster than any one of my computers I've used before, to start up, run programs, you name it. It's a dream. Also, figured out that I can hookup not just 1 external monitor but 2 external monitors and have all 3 screens (laptop screen and 2 external monitors) going on at the same time, so my visual workspace is huge--above and beyond a typical 2 monitor setup from one of my desktops. Plus Windows 10 really shines here.
