    Decent Build, But Disappointing Results

I got the HyperIce Normatec Elite Hip hoping it would help with a tight IT band and sore glutes, but honestly it just didn’t deliver much in terms of relief. The build quality feels solid and it looks nice, but the performance wasn’t anywhere near what I was expecting given the price. Right out of the box, I couldn’t get it added to the mobile app since the hip attachment still doesn’t show up there. I’ve checked twice in the past week and it’s still missing. Thankfully, you can use it without the app and it runs fine as a standalone device. The battery life seems good. I used it for about twenty minutes and my wife used it for around twenty-five on the same charge. That’s a positive. Fit-wise, it’s actually pretty flexible. I’m not very big through the hips and had no problem sliding it on like a pair of shorts. My wife has a curvier shape and was able to fit into it easily by loosening the velcro straps. So in terms of size range, it’s well designed. Where it falls short is the effectiveness. It inflates and deflates just like it should, but I didn’t feel much actual relief. My wife, who deals with really tight IT bands and thigh soreness from standing all day teaching, said it didn’t help her at all either. I cranked it up to the maximum intensity and still didn’t feel any noticeable loosening or deep compression on my glutes or IT band. For comparison, the full leg Normatec sleeves feel significantly better and provide a clear recovery benefit after a workout. The hip version just doesn’t seem to deliver the same impact. It’s a great concept and looks sleek, but functionally it misses the mark. If you already own the full leg system, this might be worth trying only for curiosity’s sake. Otherwise, I’d skip it. It’s hard to recommend something that doesn’t provide measurable relief, especially at this price point.
