It’s does just what you think - turns one USB into 4. Just be aware it’s best not to plug a bunch of devices that require power from the USB port into one of these. I’ve had issues with devices not getting consistent power when connected to a hub.

The new laptops lack USB ports even though most other devices still operate that way. This insignia model is petite yet handles the task to bring them all together. Easy to take along when traveling. Makes it so easy to transfer things between Flash drives or other external drives.

As far as functionality goes, this fits the bill. It works perfectly - I haven't had any issues with anything I've plugged in. My only beef is that the cord is really short - just a couple more inches or a detachable cord (to supply your own) would have been nice - but I won't ding it a star for that. Otherwise, it's a great little hub.

This 4-Port USB 3.0 Hub is small enough to be very portable, and, as it is a 3.0 Hub, it will work with earlier devices (albeit, a bit slower). If you find yourself with a shortage of USB ports on your computer, this will supplement the on-board ports nicely. And, it is "Plug and Play".

After plugging in my USB port expander I quickly found situations in which I was using all 4 ports. It worked beautifully with no slow downs or interruptions. For example I might have a wireless mouse receiver, DVD player, Fitbit charger, and Canon Camera all plugged in at once with no problems. Solidly built.

This USB hub saved my Silhouette Cameo electronic cutting machine. My Cameo is old and when Windows did an update (a few ago) my Cameo would no longer work. It has programming on my computer and plugs into the computer with a USB cable. Apparently the update from Windows no longer supported the 1.0 USB ports. I contacted Silhouette America support and they suggested getting a USB Hub and try it. They were not sure it would work. Well, It worked just like fine. I plugged the Insignia Hub into my computer and my Silhouette into the Hub. Finally, Silhouette did a work around to fix the problem but, even though my Cameo is old it still works fine. This Hub saved me from having to buy a new Cameo for about $350 because, at that time, I was not sure Silhouette would try and fix the problem as they have come out with several upgrades to the Cameo that are now Bluetooth.

I plugged my Insignia 4-Port USB 3.0 Hub into an open portal on my laptop, and I was flying! A few seconds out of the package, and it had my laptop performing like an ace. Inexpensive, efficient, easy to install--what more could you ask for? Buy it at BestBuy!

I needed a hub for a new laptop and found this one on sale at Best Buy, which is where I normally start my searches for electronics. I wanted a USB 3.0 hub and one that was reasonably small and easy to pack in my laptop bag. This one works great, was on sale and was in stock.

This was a great addition to my new Mac Mini, which only had two USB ports. I was able to connect four more peripherals (keyboard, mouse, printer, backup drive) with this. Plenty fast and very convenient access.

Works great, have a HyperX headset, Razer keyboard and Razer mouse (on a pass through in keyboard) plugged in. This lets me use one plug to switch all three between computers in addition to just saving port space. Plug and play

Before I bought this product, I had one that had to be plugged in and it would fall off my desk. This one is smaller, convenient, and doesn't need to be plugged in. It can be used with all my devices when I need extra USB ports. Would recommend it to anyone, especially if you have a surface pro with only one port.

Bought this to easily manage all of the USB devices that need to be hooked up to the computer. Camera, microphone, printer, etc. It is literally plug and play. No need to spend twice the $$ for a big name device; this one works great.

Im a college student, and my laptop only has so many usb ports. This hub allows me to connect more devices and makes me feel like Im working from my home workstation. Definitely a great product to buy.

I got this hub for my boyfriend's All in One Computer which had difficult to reach USB ports. He needs easy access to the USB for his digital camera, phone, etc. as he is a Real Estate agent and must upload photos often. This item is plug and play - what else can I say? Great hub, easy to use, no issues at all!

Because my laptop only had one USB port, I added the Insignia 4 port USB 3.0 Hub to my laptop so I could attach another larger keyboard, a mouse and a printer. Everything attached to the hub has worked perfectly for the last two months. I am very pleased with it!

Bought this to support my new laptop so I can have many ports when I am home or traveling. Much easier to have than plugging and unplugging multiple items used with my laptop! Makes my life much easier! Highly recommend for anyone needing mulitple ports at one time.

I bought the 4-port USB port because I needed extra ports to connect more than one device in my PC. It works perfectly but the only setback is that the cord is too short. Because my CPU tower is tall the port is hanging while its being used to connect my other devices. Otherwise I like using it.

My computer only has two accessible usb ports. This obviously takes up one, but I'm gaining 3 vs losing 1. Photos transfer quickly and easily when I use my card reader with this hub (plugged into 3.0 port.) Definitely recommend if you need something quick or for travel. Cord is a little on the short side so definitely more of a travel size or if you're plugging it in to the back of a monitor or front of a tower.

Works great to plug printer, external hardrive and other items without the need for its own power supply. Has worked very well for months and I’m glad I went with this over more expensive units. It gets the job done.

The Insignia 4-port USB 3.0 hub is a necessary dongle for the limited number of ports on my Chromebook and Windows laptop. With manufacturers reducing the number of ports on the body of a laptop, an external hub like this is a necessity. It's also small and compact so it makes traveling with it a breeze.
