The TV 'suicided' within 6 month of normal use - there is an internal crack of the panel (no external damage because no one touched it) and it couldn't be turned on - did some online research and looks like some internal overheating caused it. Geek Squad refused to help because "I have no proof" that the TV was broken by myself or if I put the TV in a bad location with could be 'too hot or too cold' for the TV (ARE YOU KIDDING ME?)... Very well... AVOID these cheap private label brand at all cost!!! Also, I am extremely disappointed with Geek Squad - I spent LG or Samsung money on an Insignia and look what I got! Just another terrible experience with BBY!

I got this tv on sale and was thinking I was getting a good deal and believe me I was. When I got it home it worked great with out any noticeable problems. About a couple of weeks later I noticed a problem. It would go black for about a sec or two then go back to the television screen. I had this problem with an Insignia Blu Ray player that I previously purchased as well. Be cautions when purchasing a product by Insignia.

Bought the TV in January of 2016. It's been working until this past week, when there is no longer a red dot to connect to the remote. Also, can't push the on button to make it start up either. Frustrating for sure.

After three weeks of owning the TV, I had to claim on the warranty. 14 day return policy... The TV would work fine every day for about 20 minutes then began flashing and the picture would eventually shut off completely after another couple minutes of the screen flashing. Frustrated I had to use the expensive warranty when the TV was broken within the first month.

Broken in just over 90 days

This TV lasted just over the 90 day warranty. I bought it on 5/4/16 and it broke on 9/11/16. I am going to take it to Best Buy tomorrow to see if they will replace it or fix it. If they do not, I can assure you that it will be the final purchase that this family ever makes at Best Buy. It is one thing if it broke in a couple of years, it is another for it to break just outside the warranty period. I knew this was a cheap TV, but it was only for video games and Netflix. I did not realize that Best Buy sold garbage.

Good picture but the remote is hard to use. No numbers have to use the screen and that is not always easy to do especially when you just want a certain channel.

Left on your own to figure out how to apply, once installed. Being a non-geek, I haven't figured out how to get what I want to do yet.

Roku never worked, got to be a rocket scientist to figure it out and the TV started making a clicking sound and best buy wouldn't take it back because I was one day over the 15 day return policy...Buy a Sony or some other brand it will cost you less in the end. It's been less then a couple months old and I am looking to buy a new TV, but like the saying goes, you get what you pay for!

    Not a real "smart TV"

After the TV was installed on the wall, the set up requires a credit card number to "activate" the Roku account. $49.99 was the quoted price to allow my new Smart TV to function. Returned without activation.

Hi, thank you for posting your comments. I'm sorry to hear you had issues activating your Roku account, since this shouldn't happen as there is an option to skip the billing process and start using the TV. However, I'm glad you could return it under the 15 day no-hassle return period. Amanda -Insignia Support. BBY-ExBrand_Insignia

First no matter what channel I turned to there were 4-5" black bars in either side. There were no numbers on the remote. Picture quality options extremely limited. I brought this tv back the next day and got a Samsung that was on sale.

For 200 bucks it was the best bang for the buck since I wanted to cut the cord (cabletv). Now all I hear is audio. I can stream Pandora, YouTube, and Netflix and the speakers sound great I just can't watch my TV. It happened after watching a Bluray movie. Wish there was a quick reset fix for it but now I have to call the manufacturer.

The TV freezes and randomly shuts itself off, we are very disappointed with this purchase. Then I saw online that Best Buy would send someone to our house because the TV was over 25" but they are telling me it has to be over 42". I have the policy printed from their web site and everything. They refused to help.

After installation and attempting to utilize the "smart" functions it became evident that Roku was a software program that required a subscription to use. (49.99) Without the subscription it was just a 40" insignia that could have been purchased for 100. less.
