Does a great majority of the same things an Xbox one controller can do. However, would love to be able to program it to my tv also. Would not mind paying a bit more for the product either. Has a convenient chat pad built in on the back, thus making it easier to respond to messages or send out messages with more ease than the xbox one controller, and way less bulky then Microsofts chat pad that plugs into your controller. Plus it was way cheaper also. So overall pretty satisfied with my purchase

    Yin/Yang

This remote control is average the yin/yang is off. For instance it illuminates by touch either side your on but the tripple A batteries do not last long, I've gone through 3 sets since buying my 360 remote batteries have never been replaced in 4 years & I purchased it second hand. The keyboard on opposite side is a nice feature but very touchy expect trippple letttters. It's glitchy at times when switching between the keyboard & arrow pad, like it didn't know you have switched from keyboard to using the arrows to scroll. All said I would never purchase another one especially for $20, yet I wouldn't return it either & I have no problem returning items that don't preform. Maybe I got a Lemmon

Bought this remote as I use my xbox one as a box to run all my games, tv, and other things through. Figured a remote would be nice since I dont like having to turn my controller on and off and navigating with a kinetic can be annoying at times. Bought this remote and am extremely satisfied. Pros: -Backlight allows for easy button recognition at night. -Has a keyboard on the back which can be very useful when browsing the web or Netflix. -Always on so you do not need to turn your controller on to navigate. Cons: - Can occasionally be unresponsive if you have your xbox in a odd place. - Connects with usb (xbox one doesnt have many usb ports. I would consider getting a multiple usb adaptor if you want to connect multiple things to the console) Overall excellent product and very happy with my purchase. Only reason for four stars is the occasional line of sight connection issues.

    Works well; some caveats

Remote works well for typical controls. Its very sensitive to motion which turns on the lights. Not a big deal, but could be reason for battery drain. Make sure you open the battery compartment, and install the bluetooth USB plugin into your Xbox One if you want the keyboard on the back to work; front controls are IR, but back keyboard is all Bluetooth. Lastly, I found a weird problem where the remote won't control the Vizio soundbar. I think this is more the soundbar's fault than the remote; could be based on the IR codes. Basically the soundbar doesn't respond to commands because the xbox is trying to control the soundbar with IR commands, (programmed in Xbox settings) and the remote is sending IR commands to the Xbox to tell it to increase or decrease volume. End result, the soundbar ends up confused and ignores all commands. If i block the soundbar from seeing the remote (but the Xbox can still see the commands so it knows to increase or decrease the volume) then the xbox knows to send the Vizio volume up and down commands through the kinect and the soundbar responds. It's very weird as I said; probably a coincidence that the Vizio commands are too close to what the Xbox expects for volume up and volume down. It would have been nice if all the controls were routed through Bluetooth entirely; then it wouldn't have mattered, and the remote would not need to be line of sight either.

What's not to like? It works great and makes searching for videos much easier. Just flip it over and use the keypad. And all keys light up. Would be nice if there was a dedicated power button but you can manage that by holding down the home button.

I had the Microsoft media remote first but got annoyed with its shape and general uselessness. I saw this insignia brand on sale and thought I'd give it a try. The remote functions the same as the Microsoft version but this remotes weapon of choice is the full keyboard on the reverse side! You have to use the USB port on the Xbox one but it asked you better range and you don't have to point the thing at the console! Type away! Works great for searching on YouTube and Netflix as well as chatting.

Easy to use and no installation of software needed. I don't like having to use the toggle on the controller to input text and had been looking for a keyboard and a media remote. Was excited to see a two-in-one. I use my xbox for the media (movies, etc) where my boyfriend uses the Xbox for gaming. So it is very convenient for me on many levels. The only thing I do not like is that the backlight comes on with the slightest movement. Bumping the table it's on triggers the remote to light up.

great for price but has some issues, sometimes it looses sync with console and the console needs to be unplugged before it can connect again, if the batteries go low it can become stuck in a single mode (either remote or keyboard), if it's left on something with a lot of motion (the couch for example) the battery will drain incredibly fast. it's a great device for the price but I recommend a set of rechargeable batteries.

This product works fine and does not have any defects that I have found. It just doesn't feel necessary to have unless you are looking for more functionality, but then you're better off getting a better remote. I'd rather yell at my Kinect. .... Wait, I don't have a kinect... Who have I been yelling at?!?

I got this remote because it has a full keyboard on the back which is great for using while searching for something on YouTube or typing messages. I only wish the volume buttons were labeled as such because I keep turning the channel when I'm watching tv instead of adjusting the volume.

The only thing I don't know if I like is how the green light come on when you turn it on either side worried it might drain the battery other than that if you want a full keyboard and a regular DVD remote for your Xbox it's great

This is a great remote. I like having the backlit keys on both sides. Having a keyboard on the backside makes it so much easier to type messages or codes. Only down side is not being able to turn the backlit off when I don't need it.

Very emphatic keys and good back lighting. Plus, I threw it across the room at one point (totally because of the Xbox preview program and not the controller) an it didn't shatter into a thousand pieces.

Bought the remote specifically for the keyboard function, too bad that turned out to be the device's worst quality. First, the remote requires a dongle to be inserted into the Xbox One USB port, not very convenient for a system that only has one port available (can't plug in an external hard drive, can't fully utilize charge and play batteries in your controller, etc.) Second, the remote is supposed to go into keyboard mode whenever it is flipped over. Unfortunately, the slightest tilt is all that's need to trip whatever internal sensor monitors the remote's orientation. Pick the remote up at a slight 25 degree side angle? Now the device is stuck in keyboard mode because guess what... flipping the remote back over doesn't switch it back to media mode, seriously. I actually had to remove the batteries just to get it to switch back to media mode and then carefully, carefully set it back down without tilting it or be forced to repeat the process. Finally, whenever the device goes into keyboard mode the backlit keys activate... and never turn off. If I picked the remote up the wrong way and didn't notice when I set it down, the keys on the bottom of the remote would be lit up and draining the batteries the entire time. I actually went through three pairs of batteries having only touched the stupid remote three times. That was the breaking point for me. After already exchanging it due to the aforementioned "inability to re-enter media mode", I just threw it into the trash and bought a different brand.

I like the ability to flip the remote to use as a keyboard on the other side. It is an easy-to-use item. I do not like the fact that it randomly turns on too much, causing the battery life to dwindle rapidly...
