It worked after 15 min of playing around but the next time we used it, it didn’t work for our presenter using the same laptop and projector and I wasn’t around to trouble shoot.

I know the feeling of not being able to get something to work easy and seamlessly. This device just adds a port to the computer. When it comes to configurations, all of them are on the side of your computer. It can be tricky, but if you can make it work once, it will surely work twice. I tried to set it up and the software was't automatically found or recognized. I tried downloading the software from the website and it still didn't work. I missed the return deadline and now I'm stuck with this. I want to believe it works for others but I have no proof that it does.

Bought this for my husband new job work computer. After dealing with his company to figure out why it did not work properly it was finally tested against another computer that the same attachment worked on and it turns out it doesn’t work! Then checked return policy and since over two weeks can’t return!!!! I really believe this policy needs to be looked at! If I buy a gift weeks before and there are issues we should have least 30 days to return or get at least a store credit!

MacBook Pro recognized the USB device (connected thru a USB-C to USB2 adapter) but not the display that was plugged into it. One Geek Squad tech said something about not enough power or too many adapters in series, another said "analog and digital don't always get along." Turns out "crackers8199" had the same problem a year ago and neither Insignia nor BestBuy seem to have done anything about it, not even alerting customers to the incompatibility.

The correct VGA adapter is for the USB-C or Thunderbolt 3 connector. Noticed that in reviews after i bought USB-3 one; returned it and USB-C version worked like a charm.

My fiance is an IT professional and did quite a bit of troubleshooting to attempt to make it work... nothing. I fully intend to return this item.
