I’ve only ever used GE filters that cost about $50 in my fridge. I decided to try this Insignia filter after reading the reviews. I like it so far. I’ve been using it for almost 2 months and I can say that no one in the family has detected any difference in the taste or clarity of the water. I like that it comes with a small adhesive label with the month printed on it to stick to the filter when you install it. I used to have to use a sharpie to write the date on the GE filters. I consistently got 10 months of use from the GE filters. If I get that much from this filter which cost half as much, then it will have been a great deal. However, if this filter only lasts 5-6 months, then this filter will have been as expensive or almost as expensive as the GE filter. One difference- you have to charge the Insignia filter by submerging it in water for a period of time before installing it. I never had to do that with the GE filters. But this is no big deal. All in all, I recommend it.

This is the 2nd time I have purchased this filter and it's great. Lasts just as long as the GE filter. Water comes out fast and tastes the same as the GE filter. It's an easy decision, same performance for a much lower price!

Used this filter to replace the original GE filter. It was less then 1/2 the price and was easy to install and so far no difference in performance or taste.

Costs much less than brand name filter, but works just as well. Easy to install. Water tastes good. No downsides.

This filter works great, is easy to install and lasts beyond the recommended time if you forget to change it. The water/ ice machine work fast and come out clear, tasting great. If you go beyond the estimated change time then the water slows and the ice machine does not produce as much ice. Like it's telling you to change it. Great product. I always drink the water from this filter. saves on environment if you don't drink bottled water!

I had been buying the brand name filter for my refrigerator, and paying a much higher price for it. I decided to try the Insignia brand because it was cheaper, and comparable to the brand name. I am very pleased with my purchase. I haven’t noticed any difference at all. The water and ice taste just as fresh, and the cartridge lasts just as long.

Easy replacement filter for when the fridge notification turns on. We are a water bottle and coffee machine household with many water bottle guests/coffee/tea guests, so it gets put to use very frequently. Lasted about a year before the fridge notified for a replacement needed. My fridge is an easy, mess-free filter change.

I am very pleased with this water filter. The company recommends replacing it every 6 months. Mine is still working well over 9 months later. The price was excellent compared to other name brand filters I've purchased in the past. I would highly recommend purchasing this filter.

I wasn't sure about buying this off brand filter for my fridge, but have been using it since November 2015 and so far so good. Water tastes great. Will definitely buy this one again because it is half the price!

A salesman at Best Buy showed us the insignia brand to substitute for the GE filter. It was half the price so we decided to try it. It seems to be working just as well and we saved a lot of money.

We have been purchasing this filet for a few years now and have been pleased with the taste of the water. Great value when compared to the brand name version.

Have used the filter now for 2 months and has provided great tasting water as good as the original ge filter at a lower price would definitely buy again when ready to replace.

Works really well, and costs way less than the brand label filter. Tough to replace the first time but once I realized the directions were backwards I was fine!!

This is my second purchase of this make and model of GE water filters. They tend to last avg three months and the water is always as good as premium water sold in expensive stores.

Don't need to pay double for the brand name. This one works great, maybe even better then the GE filter. For almost half the price. No brainer on this one.

I was worried about buying an off brand filter for my fridge. Sometimes they don't fit right and you get water everywhere. This fit fine and seems to be doing well. And the price is decent. Recommended.
