Less expensive than LG filter, fits fine, no leaks and the water taste fine. Cost is important since the capacity is only 200 gallons for both the LG Insignia filters.

This water filter fits my LG fridge and works just as well as the LG brand for a lot less money.

I was told other customers had problems with this filter but the savings of this filter vs. the original was something I couldn't pass up to give it a try and I'm glad I did. I don't think people realize you're suppose to soak this filter in water before installation. You need a tall cup (that's what I used), place the filter in it and fill it with water. Due to the small opening on the filter, it will take a long time to fill. Even when you think it's full, tap the filter a few time and you'll see there's more to go, again due to the small opening. Once it's filled, let it soak for the allotted time before installing. I followed the instructions before installation and this filter works as well as the OEM filter. I haven't noticed any foul taste as others have said. Water steam is nice and strong again!

We have used LG brand replacements for our LG refrigerator. Our local store was out of the LG replacement water filters, so we purchased the two-pack of less expensive Insignia water filters designed to fit our refrigerator. Water quality is very good, it installed easily, and all appears to be going well. It is a cost effective alternative.

I've bought these before and are using them right now but haven't installed the new ones yet. They work just as well as the OEM filters but at a fraction of the price. No problems with odors, taste or leaks - just make sure you soak these filters as per the instructions, before you install them.

These fit perfect in my lg fridge. The name brand ones are so dang expensive so its really awesome that these work just as well as far as i can tell and at 1/4 the price. so happy

This item is needed for my LG refrigerator, It is used to filter the water in the ice maker and the water to drink, The price is fair and the product works as it should.

I was looking for some affordable water filters to replace for my LG refrigerator. came across Insignia which was almost 1/4th price as compared to OEM LG water filter. I bought just to try and see if it even will work. If not, would go ahead and buy LG filter. to my surprise, it does its job rather well. Water tastes the same as it used to be with LG filter. like any other filter, it took some time to settle but worked like a charm. Reason for 4 stars is because the packaging was not very great when I received the product.

While I don't have the expertise or tools to assess whether this filter is as effective as the original LG one, the fit is perfect and and I am quite pleased with the ease of installation. Instructions were clear and easy to follow. Water flow has increased somewhat since installing indicating, I believe, that the old filter was, indeed, ready for replacement.

Half the price of the manufacturers filter and work just as good. Would highly recommend.

I don't think it's charcoal based. But it does the job and is cheaper. The water tastes good.

It works on my lg fridge with a little issue.. for some reason the fridge would drip 2 drops if water right after receiving water from fridge. But it doesn't do it all the time.. noto a big issue.. u can either wait 5 seconds after u stop pouring or let it fall into tray.. but either way it's not that bad.. for 1/4 the price of original. U cant go wrong
