So I went into Best Buy to get a cord for my pc and decided to browse around since I knew exactly where the cord was I needed. I seen a worker messing with the sound bars since another customer was interested in them, showing them all to him. Well once the JBL came to life I was blown away! I own a charge and the charge 2 so I knew the JBL would sound good. After the other guy made a bad decision and bought the cheapest one they had I told the guy to show me where to find this on the shelf. I bought it right away and went home and replaced my old Sony surround sound I had set up in my theater room. It's so sleek and looks great hanging on the wall below my projector screen. I should add they do have a size bigger than this one. Not sure model but it sounded even better. Since this was a whim decision I decided to get the cheaper of the two. Plus it's in a 12x20 room so i didn't need too powerful of a speaker. I'm so happy with this purchase. And just to be clear it does come with a sub that sounds fantastic. The remote is nothing to brag about but it works.

Very easy to set up. Very good sound out of the sound bar. Possibly only downfall is the small remote and it could use a little more bass out of the sub. Settings easily adjusted on the remote to your liking. Overall still a great system

The wifi never worked with wifes phone, son's phone, or grandma's phone. No one could read the device. All phone are different minus my mother who also has a Galaxy 7. Wifi worked with my Galaxy 7 for about a month then stopped completely. Reset device numerous times per instruction online, and through JBL customer service. Nothing changed. Put up with it for about two months and then called JBL to get repaired or replaced. This would have been call number three, after another 30 minutes on the phone with them again trying to get me to reset the device I finally got angry and told them I wasn't going to do that again. It needed to be repaired not reset. I was told I would receive an email for instructions on how to get it repaired. It never came. Days later I called again and again was told they would send an email. I demanded they stay on the phone until this transaction was complete. I have been on the phone for 38 minutes and am still on hold. I have been told they are sending me a replacement ... we will see. Bottom line it's a hefty price tag for something that came faulty out of the box. Great sound, but never really worked "well". For instance if I had my phone in my pocket and went downstairs it would pop and fizzle the speakers like it was a bad wire connection on an old school phono. So the wifi had limited range of maybe 40 feet from my phone. Then it just stopped working of course. Also volume would oddly turn ALL THE WAY UP. If the tv was left on, and went into screen saver mode, when you resumed the program (netflix, pandora, hulu, amazon ect) the volume would be at full blast. it would startle you, and in my case wake my sleeping four month old up. which as you can imagine was infuriating. You never really new when it was going to do it. Just suddenly you turn your tv on and BLAM as loud as the sound bar will go. So you find yourself frantically turning the volume down and or searching for the remote to do so. They say after that 45 minute phone call after I go to UPS and send them the sound bar back they will inspect in and in three to five business days they will send it back. Hopefully this one isn't as dissapointing.

The sound quality is better than my TV.. The sound bar sits in front of
my TV.. The only drawback is that the sound bar interferes with my
remote to my TV.. The sub woofer picks up bass when it’s there.

Pros. The sub woofer is rich and full of low bass tones. It really adds to the action movies and brings out the background music of the movies sound track. The soundbar is compact and has low profile and can be mounted on wall or set on the cabinet under the TV. JBL has great customer service. I had to use them for the reason in the cons section.
Cons. The instructions to pair the sub woofer with the soundbar seemed incomplete and made the process more difficult than it was. The sub woofer for unknown reasons stopped working because it was not paired. I followed the instructions to pair it and failed several times. I called JBL customer service and they were great . They had me trouble shoot the problem. Note: None of the things customer service had me do was in the instructions that came with the soundbar. Also the instructions did not explain the functions of the buttons on the very tiny remote. The remote is about the size of two match books laid end to end. The remote feels and looks a bit hinky. It has been easy to misplace. When adjusting the volume, the soundbar has two lights on top of the soundbar. One on the right side lights when increasing the level and one on the left when decreasing volume level. I would of liked a visual on screen display when adjusting the volume. Overall the sound quality and construction is good.

Simple Sound Bar with Good Sound

I bought this soundbar for my senior mother who had finally gotten her first HD TV and couldn't hear the sound very well from the built in speakers. I have the larger JBL Cinema SB400 which was my first JBL purchase and it doesn't disappoint. From that experience I decided to look at the smaller JBL for my Mom. She isn't a technical person at all. I was able to get her setup very quickly after pairing the subwoofer. The sound is very good for this price point. She didn't want a large soundbar and this smaller size is perfect for the 32" TV she purchased. The only downsize with both JBL units is the credit card sized remote. Ditch those and pair your soundbar with your cable providers multi-function remote. If your remote doesn't have the aux button you can purchase one from your cable provider. The code for the JBL is provided which you assign to the aux and then you have to look for another code that allows you to control 2 devices at a time (your cable box for channels and your soundbar for sound). Then you're all set. Very happy with both of our JBL soundbars. I was a Bose girl. The JBLs changed my mind. Much better sound with the wireless subwoofers.

This sound bar system is AMAZING!!! We went in to Best Buy looking for another system and ended up getting this one after the sound it gave at the testing station in the store. Previously after owning a surround sound system from Boston Soundware, this bar beats that system with a receiver by far. Paid $1000 for the Boston surround sound and receiver but only $300 for this with sound that blows your mind is fantastic!!!! Would not pay that much ever again. You get the best experience and cinema sound that you feel and hear at the movies. My husband and I will be staying home to watch movies from redbox than pay the aweful $15 any day of the week it sounds soooo ggggoooooddddd! Don't miss an opportunity for an investment worth more in this system than any other. =)

Not too loud or too base-ey (if you know what I mean!) We wanted it for the tv but I also wanted to make sure we could connect our iPhones wirelessly for music, and it works better than I thought. I'm impressed at the sound, it's my first sound bar and I was a little curious how such a simple little sound bar would add to the "theater experience" we were trying to create in the living room, and the JBL definitly made a huge difference. Boyfriend uses it for gaming, music, and we all enjoy it for movie nights. Doesn't disturb neighbors through the week (we are in an apartment complex) yet during Saturday and Sunday afternoons it can create quite a party!

Good Soundbar for a Medium Room

Reviewed this JBL Soundbar to others comparable models and chose this one. The reason is, I have a medium size room that I was placing this in (12x20ft) and it matches just right. I love bass, and the treble is key also. It doesn't overpower itself, but it does not have the bass comparable to the "400" JBL series. Overall, quality, build, and sound is great for me, and I have owned many subwoofer and tweeters for vehicles, just never for inside the home. Oh, and for yhe remote, it could be better built, but the size and sleekness of the remote is just hard to keep up with. Otherwise, JBL has me hooked.

I like this system. For the price, it does what it should. But if you want to fill a larger room, definitely get the next step up. Room filling sound, very good decoding of surround sound, and the music isn't bad on it either. You can also program the power, volume, and mute buttons to work off your TV remote, which is great, since the remote is the size of a credit card, and fairly easy to lose. All in all, a good package.

Functions well and sounds great! Only reason I gave it four stars was I felt the instruction manual could be a bit more thorough and it blocks the sensor on my tv. I'd much rather need to mount the tv or soundbar than have sound quality sacrificed by making the speakers smaller. Definitely a great purchase!

This is the second JBL soundbar with subwoofer that I've purchased from Best Buy. I purchased this for my large master bedroom and have not been disappointed. Great sound and balance of bass and treble. I originally purchased a Sony that was a bit cheaper and was thoroughly disappointed. Returned it for this JBL and don't regret my decision. Highly recommend JBL soundbar systems!
