    A downgrade from Alpine

I chose this Kenwood because it was the one that had everything I demanded: Sirius/XM, HD, CD, Bluetooth. There was no choice, but it was half the price as what I could've gotten from Sound Sensations if I'd stuck with my old Alpine. One fantastic surprise was that Best Buy had a special with free installation when I bought it. It was just luck. I wanted to price one for my dad, and without that special, it was more expensive to just get him a radio with CD. So price was great!!! But there's a lot I don't like a lot about it. Not used to the way it works yet. It has too many choices I don't need. The buttons are so tiny they poke my finger when I press them. It's supposed to be 1 1/2 lines of writing on the screen but the bottom doesn't tell you the name of the song, you have to go to the next setting to see that. I'm afraid I'll be distracted driving while trying to work it. I'm glad Wally helped me set the colors because I have no idea how. It comes with a book, but unlike the Alpine booklet, it's newsprint and teeny writing that isn't easy to read. It does sound just as good, as far as I can tell, but very hard to get used to it. Instead of only having to count 6 presses to go from XM to Radio and back, I have to press it 10 times. Just too much that I'll never use. They threw in the kitchen sink, and I don't need it all, so it mucks it up.

Pluses — excellent sound, easy to mount in an old BMW, has a lot of inputs, comes on quickly, mates we’ll with satellite attachment, USB, IPhone. Minuses — small preset buttons. Have to scroll through all the sources to get to the one you are looking for (HD RADIO, bluetooth, etc. )

I’m extremely satisfied! The sound is very good, what I would expect from Kenwood. The appearance is far better than the old radio. I like the effect of rotating colors in the display. The selection of options and settings might take a while to get used to. There are many, I’ll just have to remember how to get to the settings I use. (In my boat, setting get lost without power. In a car, these would be saved until the next time they are accessed.)

I'm impressed by how nicely this stereo performs, especially given the price paid. IN SHORT Sound quality is excellent, connections are plentiful, Bluetooth audio is stellar, call quality is fantastic, display is nice but can be dim in bright light. My opinion is that this stereo is best for folks who want to go the extra mile adjusting their setup for the best possible sound. BREAKDOWN OF POSITIVE IMPRESSIONS -Works great with my 4 channel amp -Love the AptX Bluetooth codec support (hard to find) -Impressive Bluetooth call quality with included microphone. People say they can't tell I'm in the car, and it's not a quiet car. -Simple and complex EQ options that make a real difference in sound -DriveEQ and Loudness are great at improving sound at lower volumes -Display is really cool, but can be dim in very bright light. Convertible drivers be warned :-) -CD player works nicely -Love the dual USB feature for charging my phones -HD Radio sounds noticeably nicer than standard FM radio -Has a nice, but dated Android app I recommend this stereo to anybody except folks with convertibles.

This is an awesome stereo. Highest power unit in single din at Best Buy store. Dual phone connections and digital sound processing that let's you dial in settings for your particular vehicle, speaker sizes and locations as well as x-over work great. This is my second Kenwood unit and won't buy anything else.

Great stereo with sound processing. Fully adjustable and high power. Super clean and powerful. Kenwood corrected the weak display that is hard to see in sunlight from prior unit that I have in another vehicle. This is my second Kenwood and I wouldn't buy any other brand that is currently available.

I’ve had the radio a few weeks and so far, it’s awesome! Built in Bluetooth, HD radio too! My only negative is no included remote and the clock is very small (petty things). Also has options for built in Spotify, and iHeartRadio but I haven’t played with those yet.

pretty happy with this radio, love all the features, the 2 usb connections are great, and long enough to put just about anywhere you want. The audio options are great for fine tuning to your equipment. the only thing keeping it from 5 stars is that once in awhile, the source will switch back to radio for no reason, and occasionally it will reboot, again, for no reason.

This Kenwood cd , fm and Hd tuner is a great car stereo and definitely better than the pioneer factory 6 cd player it replaced and the installer at best buy made quick work of removing the factory 2 din and put a single din Kenwood with a dash kit and it only took what seemed like just about half hour and the cd player has a dust cover flap over the slot so that is a plus , and it jams the way I like it . This is the third car stereo that I have bought from best buy over the last 10 years and had professionally installed and the previous two are Alpine cd players which are still operating as the day I got them but the Alpine were a good bit cheaper but I am not disappointed with the purchase .

Good price and works well. The Bluetooth is quite good. I like having the USB port on the front of the item - more convenient. Some of the buttons are small and hard to find. My biggest negative is using the Menu Functions, which are not easy to navigate.

Great sounding head unit, although there buttons to select the preset channels are really small. Also doesn't understand that my phone with Android 9 is plugged in to the USB port. No worries since I play my music via Bluetooth.

This radio has great features, great sound but ready disappointed in the Bluetooth. My phone disconnects randomly, usb doesn’t work randomly. Called Kenwood they sent me a firmware update with instructions which is not a simple process. Very outdated procedure this day and age there should be an easier way. also the “updated” fried my radio. So now it doesn’t work at all. Very disappointed as I have had kenwoood in the past and loved it.
