Great External HD for the price. I find it to be very compact and responsive, easy to set up and to store.

This HD was easy to set up and is faster than an old one that I had. It is small so it is easy to keep out of the way.

I was looking for an external drive for time machine backup on my MacBook. I really enjoy the slim design of this portable hard drive. It doesn't take up much space in my backpack, I'm carrying it with my computer all day, so I can make backups anytime. The included cables have both USB-A and USB-C connectors.

I have: Latitude 13 3379 2-in-1 that I out grew the 128 G hard drive. I was looking for a replacement that was affordable. I put Lacie in line and now have 75 G on my hard drive compared to 5 G and everything is working great, the programs as well as applications. I have had it this way for months now. Very satisfied.

Before upgrading my computer to the newest operating system, I wanted to keep a Time Machine image in case I needed to restore to the older operating system. Therefore, I purchased a this drive to create a new time machine back up. The major selling point for this drive was the USB C interface on the drive itself. Similar hard drive that sell at a lower price have a mini USB 3.0 connector. Mini and micro USB 3.0 connectors are not as common. It is very easy to use this drive with a USB A shape connector if necessary. Because the drive enclosed in metal, it would have been nice to have rubber feet on the bottom. It could easily scratch wood or plastic surfaces. Other than matching the color of Apple computers, the beauty of the metal enclosure is that it acts as a heat sink to keep the drive cool. The enclosure may become warm, but it is because it is dissipating the heat properly.

The design is excellent and the space gray finish is beautiful. Product pairs well with Macbook. The speed of the hard drive is not the fastest in the world. If transfer speed is important, would recommend investing in an SSD instead. Albeit, this has a great slim build quality.

This is my second LaCie 2TB drive. I love its size (very portable), and it gives me peace of mind to know that my laptop is backed up. Easy to connect

LaCie 2TB hard drive is Apple recommend and is extremely easy to use. Sleek and compact, copies all of your precious back ups seamlessly. Feel very confident that my back ups are now secure.

Use it with time machine. Works out of the box. Looks good. Speed as advertised - definitely good for Apple time machine, which runs slower than this device most of the time, by default, as designed.

So far so good. This is 1st time I’ve connected a new ext hard drive. I did have a little guidance from an Apple rep. Couldn’t have been easier.

This hard drive works great! I replaced an older hard drive and was there a difference.The speed is very fast and it integrates perfectly with my new Mac mini.

This hard drive is good for storage and not for doing any transfer speed heavy or video editing work out of. While the hard drive is USB3.1 supported, it is no where near capable of the speeds. After testing, I'm only getting about 100mb/s on my M1 Mac, and compared to an old SSD it is about 1/3rd the speed. I'm pretty sure it is an older style platter drive internally, not a solid state drive. It is a good hard drive to use for storage. Great value for the price. It isn't fast enough to do live video editing through final cut

I have used LaCie for over a decade without much disappointment and this is a good and reliable external hard drive especially for the price. It’s a good size and sturdy as well.
