This has been one of my favorite hard drives. I would highly recommend!

I recently traveled to Egypt and needed a way to store all my photos and videos. Internet is hit or miss and I'm using a 45mp camera that has huge files so the cloud is not an option. The drive is basically plug and play. It shows up on your computer just like any other drive or phone would and you can create your own folder names and directories. It has an autosync feature but I was not interested in that. This has a USB C input and it comes with a high quality USB C to USB C cable. I believe it had a regular USB A cable also. But I'm not 100% sure. So if you need that please check the box. Which is a huge plus as they are expensive. The unit is the most rugged of any drive I looked at and has a relatively hard rubber exterior safety wrap (not sure what to call it) it's not removable. It's orange so it's easy to find and I found the speed to be 100% acceptable. If you want faster you can get the SSD version but there is a huge difference in cost. For me, this worked great. So I bought 2. BTW, it seems like the box said something about Thunderbolt. If so, it just means it works with the same plug. No disc drive can truly have Thunderbolt speeds.

A great value for the capacity, the portable size, the sleek style and durability. It works really well for me as a DJ to store thousands of songs. Yay!
Only comes with USB Type C to Type C cable but works just fine with separately purchased USB-C to USB-A and other cables if needed.

Purchased the Rugged USB-C drive as a Time Machine back up drive for my 5 k imac. Easy to format and install. Working well. I understand the need to be a bus powered drive but I really don't like anything taking away from the power of my desktop. It is probably minimal, however. I have been a big fan of Lacie drives as peripheral external usb spinning drives and have never had one fail. Not a fan of the orange color but casing should protect it in case I take it on the road.

Fast and reliable Drive. Like the chassis protection. Have had good luck with these form factors over the years. The usb 3.1 is a must in 2025. The quality professional drive to get when the budget does not allow for a rugged SSD.

Extremely fast USB - C drive. I time machine my MAC Pro in this drive. It takes a few minutes. Must buy for anyone with a USB-C connector on their computer. Much faster than USB-A. Imagine 2TBs.
