The Lenovo Legion Go 2 was my first handheld gaming PC I've ever owned, and I'm really glad I jumped in this generation. The big screen and improved ergonomics (compared to the last gen) make a huge difference; especially for someone like me with large hands. That said, if you want to take the comfort even further, grab a set of "comfort grips" for it. Trust me, you'll thank yourself later. Battery life has also been surprisingly solid, thanks to how efficient the AMD Ryzen Z2 Extreme chipset is. Yeah, we all know it doesn't bring massive performance jumps over the Z1 Extreme, but honestly, that never bothered me. I've been playing all kinds of games; Gears of War, Titanfall 2, the Kingdom Hearts series, Hogwarts Legacy, you name it; and this thing handles them great. I can hit a steady 60 fps on most titles with medium to low settings (Hogwarts Legacy being the exception) without any real issues. One last thing I have to shout out: the OLED screen! Man, once you calibrate it, this display alone makes the ~$350 premium over the ROG Xbox Ally X worth every penny. When you're playing HDR-supported games, the colors and contrast are straight-up breathtaking; you'll be in awe. All that to say, this device is absolutely worth the investment. I plan on keeping it for a long time. So what are you waiting for? Go grab one. You won't be disappointed.

    A Gorgeous Handheld Gaming Experience

The Legion Go II has been everything I could have asked for so far. It pretty much combined my steam deck experience with my gaming laptop experience and takes the best from both worlds. It does everything a gaming laptop can do but unlike my gaming laptop it can actually be taken with you on walks or wherever on the go and be used in any other portable scenarios with ease and with amazing battery life. It is also much better than the Steam Deck with its larger gorgeous OLED screen and higher performance so I can actually play most games including more modern games at 60 fps. I honestly see no reason to even have a gaming laptop or steam deck anymore because it does a great job and replacing both. I hear a lot of reviewers say it’s too expensive and just buy a gaming laptop but apparently those reviewers only play games sitting down because you’re not gonna be able to use a laptop for 2+ hours while walking around. It can also be used for other things other than gaming since it has features like a laptop such as also being convenient to connect to a tv rather then having to take a bigger laptop out. I can game on larger screens while also not having to deal with all the heat my gaming laptop creates and space it takes up. I also don’t think it’s too big. I was worried because some people said it was heavy but this is just as heavy as my steam deck is with a case. I’ve had no issues walking while playing. Now it is not without its flaws. I do wish it was a little more powerful because there are some games where it will still struggle to hit a consistent 60 fps. I am also not a fan of all the buttons that the controller has. The mouse seems like a gimmick because I’d rather use a traditional bluetooth mouse instead if i was actually going to use a mouth. The extra buttons just get in the way because I won’t use them. The touch pad has also been inconvenient because it’s so close to the thumb stick that it leads to accidental presses so I just disabled it. If you’re a controller players, the sticks are also a little too loose for my liking. It’s difficult to play competitive shooters on this if your used to better controllers so you’d be be better off connecting your favorite controller. Overall I chose this over the competition because the screen makes all the difference by making it feel like a generational jump from something like steam deck. I don’t think I can ever go back to a screen that’s smaller and not OLED. It’s a very beautiful screen and just the right size to where it’s not too gigantic. I think the pros outweigh the cons tremendously with this device so I am giving it a 5/5.

Coming from the first Legion Go to the Legion Go 2, this new iteration for Lenovo is an upgrade in nearly every department. From the gorgeous OLED screen to the improved ergonomics in the controllers, every game played on this now is more vivid and feels very comfy to play with the improved battery life. This is the handheld to beat at the moment and can't wait to try more games on this beast.

I love this device! Its screen is very beautiful, and the performance is pretty decent even for modern AAA games. Battery life is decent too, on balanced power settings you can get about 2 hours when playing a more demanding game. I would recommend getting a laptop at this price instead if performance on a portable device is your priority, as a laptop will definitely run those demanding games a lot better. But if you care a lot about comfort, versatility with where you can use the device, and ease of just picking up and playing something, all while having decent enough performance to be able to play pretty much anything- I would recommend this handheld. It is basically a very beefed up Switch OLED running Windows 11, and I love the Switch's form factor, so this device is perfect for me. :)

This thing is amazing, I bought it for a singular purpose and it has become my go to. I can remove the controllers and play it on the TV. I can use it as a monitor, I use it as a small computer. I can even play world of Warcraft with it, any game I have thrown at it gets amazing graphics with smooth performance. The OLED and larger 8.8in screen just solidifies this champion handheld pc. Amazing Battery life as well.

This is my first handheld device and I’m really impressed by what it can do. Sure, I do find it heavy and my arms get tired, but I usually use a pillow to support the device and my arms so it’s not that bad. I can still game for multiple hours and have an enjoyable experience. It’s handled all of my games really well such as The Sims 2 and The Sims 3, planet coaster and planet zoo, tomb raider trilogy, plants vs zombies garden warfare, call of duty. Legion space makes control bindings pretty straightforward. I can play many mouse and keyboard games perfectly fine. I just made key binding profiles that made the most sense to my play style as I went along. It has completely replaced my laptop and allows me to game more comfortably. The battery life isn’t bad, I usually get 1.5hrs to 2.5hrs depending on what I’m playing, and even then I could turn down brightness or other settings to really stretch it. I can’t see myself going back to full laptop gaming for awhile, but even if I did, this is a perfect addition to my all around tech that’ll provide so many hours of fun with a lot of flexibility

Was this expensive yes, was it not that big of an upgrade from my legion go s also yes. With that said this has to be the most premium handheld ive owned. The Oled screen definitely does alot of the heavy lifting but ive been playing most of my triple A library at 1080p high settings for most things at almost 60fps if im ok with some stuttering ive been able to get 1200p at 30fps( caveate with this burning through battery). Needless to say if youre looking a top of the line handheld with a beautiful screen i highly recommend this device but you can honestly find similar performance on cheaper devices but man is this screen immersive, it really draws you in no matter the game so i give this device a 8 out 10. Windows 11 will always be a detrimental os to hand helds but honestly i barely notice the hiccups like i did on my og legion go or xbox ally x.

This handheld literally has everything I've been wanting. I've owned every mainstream handheld there is. With each and everyone of those there was always something missing leaving me just wishing they had this or that. This handheld has it all. The best oled display hdr vrr 144hz, a display big enough to actually comfortably play on, good battery life, a performant apu that is very efficient, good controllers , good speakers, and the software is actually better than I anticipated. All around this device has earned my first ever 5 star rating for a handheld.

I bought the Lenovo Legion Go 2 from Best Buy, and it’s been an awesome experience. Best Buy is the best store ever—easy purchase and smooth pickup. The Legion Go 2 is a powerhouse. The 8.8” 144Hz display looks amazing, and games run smooth and fast. It feels premium, the controls are comfortable, and having a full Windows PC in a handheld is a huge plus. It’s not cheap, but the performance and quality make it 100% worth it. I’d absolutely buy it again.

This gets a four out of five stars because of its bulkiness. I had this for over two months because I had my PC taken away for context so I sneakily bought this and just played video games in private you know? I work and all, have friends, but I just am an introvert and prefer to stay inside. I’m skinny good looking but anyways…… my parents Hate video games. But they couldn’t hate on this because this was portable, something my boomer parents only understand Nintendo to be able to do. But yeah, I got the really good version. The best version of the OLED model, and it is stunning beautiful. The OLED screen made me buy a OLED screen for my PC when I eventually got it back. I really like this for playing games like fallout 76 you know, games with dailies and all that; but the price is really not worth it, considering that you constantly need to be plugged into a wall socket because you’re nervous it’s gonna just turn off on you because you’re gonna lose track of time and the fan is quite noisy so it did not help my confidence with the battery’s longevity or the device devices feasibility of even taking it out of the house. At least with the Nintendo switch 2, which I also have, it feels really good in your hands. It doesn’t have a really loud fan blurring out the top like with hot air too because you could feel it because your fingers are kinda next to it a little bit when your index and middle are on the triggers. Performance wise if you can imagine fallout 76 right now because I’m using that as a reference and I’ll use another reference but with fallout 76 it can run on medium with no problems and it doesn’t look that bad because the game itself isn’t that beautiful already or high demand on textures. I tried to play Witcher 3 on this thinking that it’s definitely gonna be able to run a 2015 game on at least medium settings and when I was in one of those outskirts villages that is really tiny like with maybe five huts and a few horses walking around like three literal horses maybe a chicken I mean, you know how it is not a lot of things going on for stutter or crashing; however, on medium settings, I couldn’t get three steps with Geralt without the game, pausing for five seconds, and then I end up 40 feet farther in front of where I was going because the game I guess is too much for this. I will say no man’s sky on high settings ran quite well. The OLED screen really helps with the quality look so if you’re concerned about medium settings unless you’re like a wine taster don’t try to be a wine taster all the time. Just enjoy the video game but sometimes a device can’t really even run the video games satisfyingly and when they do run them satisfyingly other parts of the device are just noticeably detracting from your experience and like I mentioned before the bulkiness this thing feels like you’re holding Harry Potter and the sorcerer’s Stone (thicc book) with a few chapters shaved off in your hands with a screen on it. I mean, it’s just thick. Too thick. Secondly, it is very nice still so you are constantly worried about dropping it and so you really don’t take it anywhere out of the house. The mouse for this thing isn’t that great, it is one of those thumb little square areas in the bottom, right hand area and it’s literally like an inch by an inch, so you really can’t move the cursor that far without you having to pull back your thumb and move it forward and pull back your thumb move forward, so thank goodness this device is a touchscreen, that being said every single time he touched the screen you’re gonna feel *cringe ahhh* like you’re driving a new car off the lot, you feel like this is a luxury item and everything you do with this touching the nice screen and playing while this really hot fan is just going on for hours makes you think this device won’t last six months for a hard-core hard-core gamer and even a core gamer. Ultimately, I feel that if you want a device like this right now and you can’t wait then sure get it but if you wait a couple years, these devices are gonna be so much better and so much cheaper. Especially with RAM and GPUs being so expensive right now. Anyways, this gets a IGN 8.3 out of 10.

Pros: screen is best I’ve ever used. 8-10gb of vram with 22-24 left over is game-changing. Way more ergonomic than the first LeGo and much sturdier. Runs much cooler. Speakers much improved (not as good as ally xbox). Cons: pain to upgrade ssd if you’re uninitiated. Oled screen in minimum brightness loses luster. Z2 extreme is not much of an upgrade. Weight not an issue for me but can understand why it would be for some. Bottom line: this is everything I want in a handheld pc (but I’m a console gamer first, using this to play favorites during commutes). With trade-ins, reward certificates, and 24mo financing through Best Buy, this isn’t a financial hit for best buy credit card users. Highly recommend 4tb ssd and 1tb micro express.

    The Handheld Champ

I’ve owned quite a few handhelds over the years: the Asus ROG XBox Ally X, the Legion Go 1 Z1E, the Legion Go S Z1E Steam OS, the Ally X Z1, and even the Asus ROG Flow Z13 (Max 395) paired with a Gamesir controller. Out of all of them, the Lenovo Legion Go 2 Z2E stands out as the one I don’t want to return. It’s not lightyears ahead in every category, but it’s lightyears ahead in enough of them to make it the champ in my opinion. Display & Experience The 8.8-inch OLED screen is the biggest draw. It’s the main reason I returned the Ally X—its screen felt way too small. After proper HDR calibration, the Legion’s display is simply marvelous. Games like The Division 1, Resident Evil 4, MegaBonk, and Starfield look stunning. Watching YouTube or streaming content is a joy—the sound quality is shockingly good, better than my laptop speakers. Performance & Software Running Windows with Steam set to launch in Full Picture mode is smooth and reliable. I haven’t bothered with Bazzite or Xbox FSE yet, and honestly, I don’t feel the need until official support arrives. AMD’s frame generation and resolution scaling doubled my frames without noticeable performance loss. AAA titles run beautifully, and lighter games sip power efficiently. Battery life is impressive: about 6 hours on Quiet mode for low-end games, and 3–4 hours for AAA titles on Performance mode. Ergonomics & Usability The ergonomics aren’t perfect—ASUS still has the edge there—but a cheap Amazon grip solved my issue with misclicking unused right-side buttons. It’s versatile: perfect for couch gaming, travel, and even doubles as a laptop when paired with a portable keyboard. Compared to the Ally X, the Legion Go 2 wins with its bigger OLED screen and superior audio, even if ASUS nailed the feel of the device better. Value Alternatives like the Apex or Win5 might tempt me, but they lack OLED, have smaller screens, and cost $800–$1000 more. For the price, the Legion Go 2 Z2E is unbeatable.

So far, this has been a great device and automatically maps controls to mouse and keyboard games, It’s not great but it works. I’ve been playing in enshrouded nonstop with OK battery life and play for about two or three hours before I need to plug it in. as I have it messed with the settings too much or tried other games to see how the battery life is. Right controller could be better designed as a mouse, maybe changing the position of the scroll wheel. Would have been nice if the case was bigger to fit the charger in the case.

I used to have the steam deck, but it just couldn’t keep up with games, even older ones, the way that I’d like. After researching with several reviews, videos, and seeing the system in store, I decided to try on for myself. I was lucky enough to snag one, and although it had a hefty price tag, it is definitely worth the price. The screen is gorgeous, and looks even better after properly calibrating it. The same games I tried to play on my steam deck that were stuttering runs like a dream on this system. I was concerned initially for the size and weight. I have extremely small hands as a female, and I’m happy to report that it is still comfortable to hold. I like the detachable controllers, however the mechanism that detaches them and connects them back to the rails are not very intuitive like they are for the switch 2. Since it’s a PC, pretty much anything you’d want to do with a normal desktop you can do with this. I’ve paired wireless keyboards with no issue, downloaded emulators and customized controls. I like that it has the option to update the ssd, it comes with a smaller sized one however it has the space to put a 2280 sized ssd. You may need a thicker thermal pad if you do replace the ssd however. Overall I could continue to talk about this system, but if you are in the market for a handheld, you can’t go wrong with this one.

The Lenovo Legion Go 2 is a fantastic handheld that runs modern games at a solid, playable frame rate. The 8.8-inch OLED screen is absolutely worth the money; its size and quality make a massive difference over smaller 7-inch displays. While it’s on the bulky side and takes some getting used to, the experience is top-tier. I highly recommend it to anyone who can afford it! Also, thanks to Best Buy for the lightning-fast delivery.

I was originally planning to build a very small form factor PC that I could take on trips overseas, but then realized I’d also need to buy a portable monitor and other accessories which felt like a hassle. After doing some research on handheld gaming PCs, I decided to go with the Lenovo Legion Go 2 Z2 Extreme 32GB 1TB, mainly because of its massive OLED display and the sheer number of features it offers. The detachable controllers are awesome, and the overall design feels premium and flexible. I use it now as my “Switch on Steroids,” especially since I paired it with an eGPU dock and RX 9070 XT. When I’m at home, I can run AAA games at high settings with zero issues. It’s definitely not a cheap device, but I couldn’t be happier with my purchase. If you can afford it, go for it—you won’t regret it. The only downside is that it takes about 1–2 hours of setup and updates out of the box, but once that’s done, it’s smooth sailing.

I can't play competitive games like Battlefield 6 or Call of Duty because, with an 8.8-inch screen, I can't see the enemy. But it's very good for story-based games. Also, the joysticks have a very difficult configuration to adjust for competitive games. Aside from that, it's very good; it feels like it's made with very high-quality materials, and this handheld console is simply beautiful.

Pros • Fantastic OLED screen (8.8”, 144 Hz, vibrant colors) • Strong performance for a handheld (Ryzen Z2 chip, up to 32GB RAM) • Very flexible — detachable controllers, Windows 11, lots of ports • Better battery than the original for light tasks • Solid build and comfortable design Cons • AAA games require compromises (lower resolution or settings to get smooth FPS) • Short battery life when gaming (about 2–3 hours) • Windows 11 is not handheld-friendly and can feel fiddly • Bigger and heavier than most handhelds • Expensive compared to competitors Best for: Tech-savvy PC gamers who want a powerful portable Windows PC and don’t mind tweaking settings. Not ideal for: People wanting long battery life, ultra-portability, or a simple console-like experience.

This is a low techy techy review, I just upgrade from the steam deck and I'm in love so far, I was scared because I heard a lot about having to do a lot of day one prep and installs but it was regular CPU start up stuff and I was ready to play in like an hour or two. It's been great I haven't found a game I can't play yet, and the screen is gorgeous. The only concern has been the sleep mode, it never really turns off, so I can't put it sleep mode and put it in a case because the heat is still going and the case would block the vents. So I actually have to save and turn it off,but besides that works amazing. Right, lastly I'm a big guy so the size and weight are perfect breath of fresh air in today's age where everything is trying to be lighter.
