I don't know much about computers..... expecially relating to memory and storage capacity..... I asked friends for advice and purchased this laptop.... According to them, it's a great deal.... It was easy to set up and I've had absolutely no problems....

Best Buy Experience Impressed me the most.

The Lenovo Laptop is quick and an incredible value for the price. What truly impressed me was the knowledge and support I have received from the Best Buy Store staff and the Geek Squad support staff which was and is VERY well worth the modest added cost. The bundle savings for laptop, printer, Office 365, Anti-virus protection and Geek Squad support is unrivalled.

This is a very good basic laptop with an Intel Core i3 processor at a great price. It is well made and has a very bright, clear display. It even connects to our 4G wireless network to get blazing internet speeds l100 Mbps download, 10+ Mbps upload). Also has VGA and HDMI outputs, which the new HP laptops don't seem to have (no VGA output on them)! Upgraded to Windows 10 as soon as we got it with no problems at all. Very pleased with this laptop so far!

    Good Computer

This is a good laptop. It has a clear screen and the graphics are great. My only negative is that the touchpad is extremely sensitive. It zooms in and out very quickly even when I don't want it to and if I nudge it slightly the cursor interrupts the typing to wherever the cursor lies. Other than that I like it so far.

So what do you expect for a $300 laptop...not much. Let's be honest. However, having used this laptop for 60 days now, I'm over the moon impressed with what it has. I bought a similarly priced HP last year and the thing didn't last 9 months. I work solely on the road in real estate and this little baby has exceeded my expectations. I don't do anything but productivity....Appraisal Software, very minor photo manipulation, email, internet and Office Applications. However, at any given time I have 8-12 internet tabs, 6-8 excel spreadsheets, three Word docs and my appraisal software open at any given time...and I never see any slowness or hiccups. I doubt it would handle major multi-media, but with 6gb of RAM, it'll handle anything college or high school homework would offer. Overall, I'm uber impressed with the product and its price.

    Unexpected Gem

I had to replace my Dell laptop because the screen had went in it after 3 years. Originally, I had purchased a Toshiba for my mother and was going to go that route as well, but it was not available, so I went looking for something along that lines in the same price range. I'm happy I didn't stick with that price range, but went a bit higher, because this is a completely unexpected gem of a find. I have yet to come across any issues, aside from the upgrading of Windows 8.1 to Windows 10, but that's to be expected considering that Microsoft had issues rolling out the upgrades. I also recommend this because this comes with computer maintaining software that not even my Dell or my mother's Toshiba came with, so much so that I really wish that Lenovo would market just that software for use on other PC Laptops!

Lenovo G50 is a good product for the price

I bought this for $279 during Christmas and have used this computer for about a year now as my spare laptop. I would definitely buy another one when it comes on sale for my son for school instead of a tablet. The pros: 1. It is thin and light. 2. The laptop starts up fast and do not come with too much junk programs to bog down the speed. 3. Nice built in DVD/RW player 4. Adequate USB ports with 1 high speed 3.0 5. 1 TB hard drive is nice 6. The battery life is good 7. I am able to upgrade RAM but I have not had the need. Cons: 1. I did have an issue with the keyboard which is why I rated it a 4 star. The keyboard is cheap so it is not very good if you are a keyboard fanatic. The keyboard space bar was sticking so I turned it in for warranty. 2. I did have to pay for the shipping to get it repaired. But they did fix the problem within 1 week.

After buying had Geek Squad remove malware and install windows 10. Also use wireless mouse, if two fingers touch the pad it goes touch-screen mode. I use it to for web sites and download videos. Also installed ad-block plus The download time is better for most clips, Transfer from pc to flash drive is fast, usually under 10 sec for 200mb, old pc would take 45 sec for same size. Brightness doesn't seem as good, increased size from 100% to 120% to be easier to read and see items. Start up time is <20 sec, shut off is <10 sec. Windows xp was easier to navigate but with time this will as easy to use. The weight seems about half as much as old pc, 9 yr. old Toshiba, hardly any heat from pc, or the power adapter. Can use laptop on your lap without burning up. If I had to pick a laptop I would get an Apple laptop, for price and uses I do this works just fine. Down side is removing junk programs and brightness. Up side is price, under $350, weight, no heat from laptop or adapter, speed transferring files to flash-drive. Memory size, 1T, start-up and shut-down time. Having Windows 10 installed. Up side far out weighs the down-side. For my limited use this is a good fit for me. A higher priced laptop would have been a waste of money.

Great for school and everday use,not for gaming

Only thing that i recommend is replacing the under performance hard drive with an ssd. the hard drive was a bottleneck. Additonal ram would def help alot. there is no dedicated graphics card so dont get your hopes up with playing games on high fps. you can somewhat play a few games on low fps but the game wont be as fluid as you would like it to be. This laptop is amazing for everyday use, like surfing the web, watching netflix movies. doing your homework. And on top of that the sound quality of this laptop is very superb. very loud! doesnt have a backlit keyboard but thats just a personal pefference. i bought this for college use only and it is amazing. if you are looking for video editing and gaming then def look for an i7 with a dedicated graphics card or a desktop with the same specs. this is great entry level laptop for students and casual people.

Definitely an entry-level laptop, having only 4GB RAM and an i3 processor. If you're looking for something a little more powerful, get an i5 or even better, i7 processor and at least 8GB RAM. Still, this laptop performs well despite the low end specs. The full keyboard is nice, though the monitor quality leaves a bit to be desired.

I bought this laptop for my daughter to take with her to college. It took a while to load all the updates(plus the free Windows 10 upgrade...thank you Windows). But, once everything was updated, the laptop ran fine. My daughter is able to do all of her assignments with the Office product I purchased, and the laptop is light enough for her to carry to classes that she needs. So, it was a great buy for the sales price that I got it for.

I was a little apprehensive before I purchased this computer. After evaluating the specs and reading other reviews, I decided to give it a try. I did add additional 4gig to the ram which brings the total to 8gig. For I3 processor, 1tb hard drive and 8gig ram, I expect this computer to meet all my needs.

This machine came with windows 8 which I upgraded to windows 10 without issue. I found that the machine really started to perform once I upgraded the RAM which was super easy thanks to Lenovo. Just pop off three screws and put in the new stick of RAM. Of note, you need to get "low voltage" RAM otherwise it won't work. My main complaints are battery life and the large amount of pre-installed software that Lenovo included.

I found that I needed to upgrade my laptop with one with more speed and processing power. I didn't need a computer with a lot of power, just someplace in the middle. This i3 computer is just right for me. Perfect for the high school or college student., but probably not if you're in to heavy gaming.

I'm not a power user and go days without using the computer. (I use my phone more for basic p.c. stuff.) The pc is pretty fast, good visuals, but i miss the slide bar on the touchpad and i wish i had picked a higher screen resolution. HD is fine for movies, but i notice the quality when compared to my phone resolution. At this price point, i can just replace it next year if it's still an issue.

Just downloaded windows 10 which took awhile, but it all seems to be working good! Wish it had a touch screen, but can't say I would use it that much anyway. I've only had it for a few days, but I think it was a good choice!
