Didn't want something that would even run games - to discourage them from installing games. But, this thing still has enough power to play. Very light and sturdy - with a very nice feel to it. Now wife and kids wants their other PCs replaced with same laptop - as they actually fight to use this one.

Slow and Disappointing

I was looking for a new laptop to replace the one I had that was getting old. I wanted something that wouldn't break the bank but didn't want to go super cheap and get a subpar product. This laptop seemed like a good middle of the road laptop that would be good for what I need in a laptop. All I do with my laptop is go online - I go on social media websites, check the news, and check email. I don't do any games or streaming. I wasn't really familiar with Lenovo but it had a rating of above 4 stars so I decided to go for it. I have not been happy with this purchase. It is slow and frequently freezes where I have to restart the laptop or manually shut it down and start it again. I thought about returning it several times but then thought that I just needed to get used to a new laptop and figure out how to make it work for my needs. Now that's it's past the return date, it has frozen 2 times in the last hour that I've been trying to look at websites. This is not a good laptop in my opinion.

This configuration has 8GB of DDR4-2400MHz RAM. It is good with Microsoft Office type programs, internet browsing and other moderate work. If you are not getting the expected performance, be sure any software you installed is compatible with Windows 10. There is no need to install Microsoft Office software. The software is already part of the operating system, you just need to activate the software with a purchased product key. If you have installed a copy of Microsoft Office, this is conflicting with the existing copy on the system and this will slow your system down. If you have installed a 3rd party anti-virus program, be sure that Windows Defender is turned off and that the trial version of McAfee Anti-Virus software is uninstalled. There can only be one anti-virus program on the system. You may need to restore your system to original factory default settings if any of the programming errors have occurred. You can do that by typing "restore" in the Cortana search window. Just click on the magnifying glass icon at the bottom left of your Windows 10 Desktop. Click on "Reset This PC" Then click on "Get Started" and follow the on screen directions to restore to factory defaults. Loving My New Lenovo Laptop!

I haven't used a laptop in several years, therefore, there has been a learning curve. The computer guides me easily to where I need to be to understand and learn the different aspects of the laptop. I am extremely happy with the Geek Squad. The safety programs that were selected to keep my work safe has proven excellent. Thank you to all those that helped me in the computer section of Best Buys.

Just a strong intelligent laptop to fit my needs. Be careful with the battery charger. I had to exchange my 1st purchase with a 2nd one due the battery charger did not charge to 100% capacity. You will see this defect your fiorst few days. Otherwise, I'm very happy with my purchase. As always, never a problem with Best Buy customer Service regarding the exchange.

Posted .It sounds like your first laptop had Windows 10 Battery Saver Software enabled. This software prolongs battery life by not charging the battery past 50-percent. Seemed Solid But Slow And Terrible Video

But sadly for what I need it for it was too slow when doing more than one thing. It would actually freeze between switching screens. And the video...even though it says its 1920 x 1080 hd, it looked really dull. All in all not what I'm looking for but for someone looking to do basic functions it may be ok.

Very inexpensive laptop

It runs slow right out of the box. It is locked my Microsoft so if you want to use any other browser like Google chrome you have to get some type of digital key from Microsoft. I did not like it at all. I used it for about 3 hours and returned it for an HP.

Performs well though a little bit slow

The materials it’s made out of scratches easily and it may be a good idea to get a protector as soon as possible. The keyboard is very tactile and has good spacing between the keys. Trackpad is a little laggy, but it works for everyday use.
