I use the Lenovo Legion 7i mainly for Premiere Pro, and it’s excellent. Fast, smooth, and the display makes editing easy. The downside is the battery life—it doesn’t last long off the charger—and it tends to run warm even with light use. Still, for creative work, it’s powerful and reliable.

      Hi LeslieB,

Thanks for choosing Lenovo and for sharing your feedback with us!

Regarding your issue with battery – as you may know there are lots of variables that contribute to battery and in gaming laptops that can increase even more due to their high-powered processors and graphics cards. If you want to squeeze out more battery life and are completing non-intensive graphics tasks, you can utilize the MUX switch built into this model to turn off the dedicated GPU to greatly decrease power draw. This can be done in the Lenovo Vantage app > top right box > GPU working mode, then choosing your preferred method. Users can also take advantage of the keyboard shortcut, Fn + Q to toggle thermal modes and easily switch between prioritizing battery life or power, or even the best of both words, along with custom settings configurable in Lenovo Vantage. You could also press the Fn + R key combo to toggle to a lower refresh rate for even greater power conservation.

Also, if you're using the system for light use and find it running warmer, even with sufficient air exchange to aid in cooling, we recommend pressing Fn + Q again to switch to a lower power mode which will reduce heat production.

We are pleased to read that this Legion 7i is otherwise working excellently for you.

Please feel free to reach out to us via the Q& A section of this product page should you have any questions or need assistance.

Got one refurbished-excellent on sale for $1380 before tax. You pay for the build quality, and it’s worth the price. It’s clean and professional, without any gaming aesthetic. The display blew me and my girlfriend away even compared to other OLED laptop screens; she’s (jokingly) jealous of how good this thing is and she by no means skimped out on her own gaming laptop. I’m impressed by how powerful the 275HX CPU is as well, though it’s a little too powerful for the chassis. It’s somehow got more computing power than my desktop 13700k at half the wattage; intel arrow lake isn’t impressive as a desktop chip but it’s a big improvement for laptop chips. My legion 7 will thermal throttle well before the cpu is fully utilized; consider undervolting and frequency limiting or setting a custom fan curve since it’s got cpu horsepower to spare. The GPU is the weakest point of this laptop; everyone complains the 5070 with 8gb vram is insufficient and it really does struggle with 1440p gaming. There’s no getting around it; go for something with a 5070 ti or greater if graphics-heavy gaming is important. Or, like, use a desktop instead. I sure like how it looks though, and I think its aesthetics and build quality make up for its shortcomings in graphics, thermals and battery life compared to other laptops at a similar price. At any sale price at $1700 or below I think this thing warrants consideration for anyone who doesn’t use a laptop solely for gaming. Or who does and doesn’t want to look like they do.

Straight out of the box, this laptop has everything you need to enjoy media, gaming, and an office or work tasks you may have. It is extremely user friendly and as someone who used to only have apple products, this was a no brain switch for me. I can tackle any task i need with ease using my Lenovo Legion, its been powerful enough to run games beautifully, and withstand anything else ive thrown at it. I use it daily and have been so pleased with my purchase. I will absolutely recommend this laptop to anyone. I know that it will serve me for a great many years. My only wosh is that the batter could last longer off charge, but it does give me a good 1-2 hours based off of what im asking it to do for me.

Grabbed this during BestBuys winter sale. I’ve been a huge Apple user in the past but swapped to this guy. From a long time Apple user, this thing feels premium and the display matches that of my other MacBooks. Has plenty of ports, a decent battery life, and runs my 49” ultrawide monitor flawlessly. Lenovo really did well with this laptop. I primarily use this laptop for educational purposes with weekends spent gaming with the boys. Runs titles like Battlefield 6 with no issue or over heating. I do recommend grabbing a cooler tho to keep temps down and extend the life out of the laptop.

      Hi Cole-

Thank you for choosing Lenovo and sharing your experience with us. We are happy to hear that you are enjoying the performance, port availability, and product design of the Legion 7i. We aim to offer great user experience and would love to recommend a few actions that you can take to improve battery life and thermals.

The Legion 7i allows you to change the computer’s active thermal mode. This will allow your device to cycle between higher performance, quiet, or automatically adjust based on your needs. To start, launch the Lenovo Space app, Under the CPU and GPU Performance gauges you will find the option to toggle performance profiles. We suggest using Quiet mode which will lower the temperature of your Legion 7i when under load. You can also toggle thermal modes simply with the Fn+Q hotkey.

We also recommend ensuring the bottom of your Legion 7i has adequate space to allow the Legion's Coldfront thermal design to properly circulate allowing for better temperatures even when under load.

Please reach out to us through the Q & A section of this product page if you have any questions or need any assistance.

I love my new laptop and it is very sleek! I am capable of running up to 3 downloads while playing a video game which still gets it all done in 40 minutes or less. Playing any video/movie/show on this laptop is beautiful with the resolution and quality options making it effortless. I will say the battery life is disappointing which is why I did 4 stars but they do offer energy saving options but it extends it by maybe an hour or two unfortunately.

Thank you for choosing Lenovo and sharing your experience with us. We are happy to hear that you are enjoying the display quality, build quality, and performance of the Legion 7i. We aim to offer great user experience, and we would like to make a few suggestions to improve your battery life.

We suggest using Quiet mode which will lower the battery consumption leading to longer battery life. You can also toggle thermal modes simply with the Fn+Q hotkey.

The Legion 7i includes the option of controlling the “GPU Working Mode”. You can find this within Legion Space, just below the Thermal Profile modes from the previous step. This allows your device to switch between the integrated GPU and discrete GPU. By switching modes, you can enhance battery life through the Hybrid-iGPU Only Mode which will lower the power draw of the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5070 graphics card or enhance performance with dGPU Mode which will enhance display performance.

I love this laptop. It's got a nice keyboard and, best of all, it's expandable. I've upgraded the M.2 space to 3.2TB! The power usage is a bit high so I pretty much need to use it plugged in. But I can set it to a low power mode that only uses the built in GPU of the Intel chip. The OLED screen is very nice. I love the way it runs my favorite games due to the NVIDIA 5070. I told you it needs power right? I was worried about the white case, but it doesn't seem to get dirty. It's also got embedded silver to keep it safer from microbes.

I shopped around for a windows laptop that could handle video editing as my previous Lenovo just can’t handle the editing anymore. I debated between this and the 5i and found this one on sale with a bigger screen and ended up getting it. My only zonk is the fans are noisy and it tends to get hot, so hopefully that didn’t finish the life of it like my gaming computer I had over a decade ago.

I purchase a laptop had to returned it because it just didnt work and saw this one everything came updated, just had to download nvidia panel, everything runs perfect on 2640x1600 i believe thats the correct resolution. (Howards lwgacyhigh setting 70fps connected) bout 30 disconnected, (battlefield 6 100fps high setting) (ark raiders 70fps high setting) all those are avaraged plugging it in to a tv worked wonder just had to play with the resolutions a bit but it was perfect. Definitely recommend this laptop but for the place you could build a decent pc for 1800. Battery life was about 3-4 hours disconnected less if youre playing games and oled screen its just the best.

I recently purchased the Lenovo Legion laptop, and it has exceeded all of my expectations. The build quality feels premium, and the sleek white design really stands out. Performance-wise, it’s an absolute powerhouse — the NVIDIA RTX graphics combined with the latest processor handle gaming, streaming, and multitasking with ease. The display is crisp and vibrant, and the refresh rate makes everything feel smooth and responsive. One of my favorite features is the RGB keyboard, which not only looks great but also feels very comfortable to type on during long sessions. Cooling is efficient, so the laptop stays surprisingly quiet even under heavy loads. Overall, this is one of the best laptops I’ve owned — perfect for gaming, content creation, and productivity. Best Buy’s ordering and pickup process was smooth and hassle-free, too. Highly recommend this machine to anyone looking for power and style in one package.

The best laptop for creative and professional purposes. I love how flexible I am to work on things I prefer to do for the day: whether streaming my favorite shows (quality is superb), playing games (not laggy and super smooth fps), animating, video editing (content creation is so much fun with how intuitive the system and controls are especially the keyboard feels like I am unstoppable with expressing my thoughts on everything).

Best purchase ive made for gaming. Can run AAA games very smoothly and will need a cooling pad as cpu/gpu temps can rise (with some games) very hard to not recommend but if you have a set up for it can only enhance your experience. I always keep it plugged in so battery isn't a issue but if you keep yours unplugged it may be an issue as that battery time is very limited.
