Customers frequently mention the Legion 7i's fantastic performance and solid build quality as major strengths. The keyboard and display also receive positive feedback, with many praising their features. However, some users point to less-than-ideal battery life and occasional heat generation as drawbacks. While some find the fan noise noticeable, others report it as manageable or even quiet under certain conditions.

I really like this computer so far. The speed is very good, games run great on it, and the display is crisp and bright. The battery life is not very high even on lower settings, though. I usually get about 2-3 hours max when I'm not gaming or have a lot of programs open and a lot less when I do. Luckily, this computer does support fast charging so it can go back to 100% within an hour. The edges are also very sharp and the body of the computer can get hot quickly, so I would recommend getting a wrist pad if you plan on doing a lot typing or resting your hands on it while gaming. Other than those few issues, it is a top notch computer for everything I need it for. I would highly recommend it to anyone who is looking for a good quality gaming computer.

An amazing laptop for gaming and content creation! The display is beautiful, and while I would have loved to see an OLED panel, it is still a good enough label for high-level content creation. The performance is great, no complaints there, especially for the price. I also love the glacier white color, as it perfectly matches the aluminum construction of the laptop and looks extremely sleek and smooth. My only complaint is that the battery life isn't spectacular, but given the specs of the laptop and how much power the graphics card can draw, it makes perfect sense. Would highly recommend for someone who is looking for a laptop that can do almost anything you throw at it!

It is a great gaming/creator laptop. All cnc aluminun chasis in color white. Good I/O. Because it is thin it run hot. The i9 14900HX is a tone down desktop cpu, so its power hungry even it is limited and undervolted by the user, so the chasis get way to hot. The battery suffer because of this, even on light usage power saving.

The Lenovo Legion 7 delivers impressive performance for multitasking, gaming, and demanding workloads. I've been using it for nearly everything—from engineering software to entertainment—and it handles tasks smoothly with its powerful processor and GPU. The display is crisp and color-accurate, making it great for both work and media. However, the keyboard tends to get noticeably warm during extended use, which can be a bit uncomfortable. Overall, it's a high-performing, versatile machine with minor thermal drawbacks.

I absolutely love this laptop! From the awesome performance to the very good looking aesthetics and the RGB lighting is unique and perfect. All around well built and plays any game and any emulator I throw at it. I would have looked to get the You do 4090 version but they didn’t have the white color and also it was twice as much money. The 4070 is way more than adequate. It does get extremely hot so I put it on a stand.

Absolute powerhouse of a laptop.
Pros:
Excellent 240hz IPS display, very bright
super fast i9 processor
32g ram
4070 had no problem running ready or not
on ultra
More portable than I expected
I'm actually impressed with the battery life.
I'm using the laptop for school and
haven't had a problem. I'm sure if you're
gaming on battery it would be atrocious.
I bought a silicone keyboard cover and the
keys are nearly silent. The cover adds a
nice hue to the backlit keys as well.
Cons:
Lots of bloatware
Speakers leave a lot to be desired
The power brick on the original charger is
massive. However, I have a small 100w
USBC charger that is much more portable
and works fine for non gaming usage.
So, overall I'm very happy with the purchase and will be keeping this laptop for years.

Good rtx 4070 if you can get it under 1500. Performance is good regardless of being plugged in or not. Battery life is abysmal, as expected. You will use this plugged in. It gets very hot on top towards the power button. So it is a little bit worrisome that this will eventually melt.

The Legion 7i is an absolute beast of a gaming laptop. It handled every game I could throw at it(Online Shooters, MMO, etc..) with ease and grace. FPS was consistently in the 100+ and I never saw it dip unless it was due to my internet connection. The low battery life is to be expected, but even when unplugged it was able to handle the more demanding games. The specs are great and it is evident when you are using it either for miniscule tasks or high intensity tasks. The fans, on the loudest settings are still very manageable and I found they only kicked on when the computer was under intense load. If you are on the fence about this laptop, I would recommend you get it, the color is beautiful and grows on you.

Over the past few months, I’ve gone through a few different laptops to see what fits my needs. I think I’ve found it with this Lenovo. Incredible performance, can easily upgrade/add SSD, more RAM, etc. Screen is bright and clear, and fans dont get as loud as some other laptops I’ve tried. It can run any game I throw at it including Helldivers 2, Alan Wake 2, etc. with zero issues. I highly recommend this laptop.

I really wanted to love this laptop. The machine is beautiful and the screen is amazing. But wow this thing geta smoking hot just doing normal browsing and powerpoint. Reviews say you can get 5 hours but thats only if you turn everything thay makes this PC fast off. I watched my battery drop 50 percent while sitting at the dining room table just doing day to day work. If you can be plugged in 90 percent of the time and dont plan to put this on your lap its a greay choice. If you travel or will be away from an AC outlet for more than a few hours then pass.

Hi, Justin. We are sorry to hear that you encountered these issues with your Legion 7i. First, regarding the heat created by the device, please ensure that the air intake (along the bottom) is clear of any obstructions. If it's on a gaming mat or a surface that retains heat, this will work against the system's multi-level cooling systems. Also, with the Intel i9 processor, speed is the system's goal, creating heat as a byproduct. For convenience, there is a keyboard shortcut that can be used by pressing the Fn and Q keys simultaneously. This allows users to toggle between three thermal modes, one of which being quiet mode. In this mode, when doing work like browsing and PowerPoint, the system doesn't need speed to be the priority, giving you the best of both worlds with a quieter, cooler PC, and saving battery life. Activating the system's MUX switch can also drop power draw significantly by switching off the dedicated GPU when not necessary. We appreciate you taking the time to share your feedback and experience with us.

Not a gamer. I purchased this laptop for music and video production. It has met and exceeded expectations. Performance, especially for a laptop, is very impressive. Build quality is super solid. My only complaint would be that it does produce a lot of heat, even when performing very minimal tasks. Otherwise, so far so good!

So far, so good. I did eventually buy a laptop cooler from Amazon as gaming laptops do run hot, and keeping them cool helps prolong their lifespan, from what I've learned.
I love that this is an all aluminum case, and that Lenovo provides vantage software that helps you with performance. Check out Jerrods Tech on youtube for a good overview of this laptop. Other youtube vids provide good info on how to debloat and turn off as much Windows tracking info as possible after the unboxing.
Also check out "Block Windows Update and Stay on 23H2" to keep the Windows Recall 24h2 update from happening if you're wary of that. And yes there is a fix for the Windows 11 Home edition.
So far the performance is keeping up with most games, as it should, since there's only a couple GPUs that are at a higher tier. (Though 4070 laptop cards have slightly less performance than 4070 desktop cards do.)
DayZ is running at the highest settings. Though I'm still just on a 1080p monitor, but this card is supposed to keep up with 4k.
The only downside was not having an ethernet port, but I bought it knowing that, and so I bought an ethernet dongle which connects to the Thunderbolt port. You can pick one up for $50. I got the J5 Create 4k60 100Gbps dongle, since it mentioned thunderbolt, and unlike an Anker dongle I tried first, it doesn't get hot.
Be aware that when you change the settings to run solely off of the 4070 (using what equates to a mux switch), that the two ports on the left side change from their original settings of USB-C and Thunderbolt, to only allowing HDMI from the rear side port and no ethernet (if you're using a dongle), and the forward left side port having no HDMI connectivity but will accept ethernet connectivity though the dongle.
If you turn off the mux switch and go back to using Advanced Optimus, then the USB-C and Thuderbolt ports regain all their functionality. This is on purpose apparently.
There's a rear HDMI port anyway, and if you need 3 monitors while using the best gaming settings, you could always just get a splitter or a dock.
And lastly pickup from BestBuy was easy, just waited in line and showed my ID, and because I purchased during X-mas, the return period was extended.

The computer runs great. The fan is loud. It does get warm. My review is based on customer service. I needed to repair the LCD screen and they said the subscription wouldn’t cover it and it would cost 500.00 to repair at least. It’s too expensive and I can’t get it fixed now.the subscription plan alone is expensive and the fact that it doesn’t cover it makes it useless to me. It’s a waste of money. I would have bought this through another company.
