Friend suggested wifi card/hardware was the issue when all other troubleshooting failed and was best just to use my return window to exchange for a new one. The whole ordeal was insane from hoops to jump through. I'm sure it's isolated to my own crap luck but still tainted my opinion of this product. Haven't used it to its fullest abilities to have any opinion on that but the basic web browsing I've done at least hasn't been the Dial Up archaic torture I originally started with. Giving 4 stars for benefit of doubt purposes 4 stars on battery life as it's really only acceptable in energy saver mode for the minimal usage I put it through.

||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Computer is amazing depending on the price you get it for, I got it for $650 and its well worth it, i think originally it was over $1000 and for that price i don't think its the best price to performance. The laptop runs great on warzone but the first time i downloaded it, it was glitching and was very pixelated. Since redownloading it I have not had that issue with warzone. Make sure if you are going to play cod have it in Fullscreen EXCLUSIVE. The laptop of course gets hot but that's to be expected and I wouldn't use it without it being plugged in because battery life is not the best. I use this at work and when i want to game in the living room and its actually fun. I wouldn't spend more than $850 on this but you could definitely make this a decent pc if you hook it up to a monitor.

Great budget gaming laptop
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Works quite well, the screen has ample brightness and reflection rejection in a bright office space, the keyboard has a decent feel and not too much flex, the laptop runs quietly until demanding programs or games are launched which is totally reasonable...I wouldn't mind taking this to a class or a conference room for light use. This laptop is quite heavy but I think that's to be expected, and the power brick is quite large with its high wattage so it's not the most portable, but that's not a surprise being a gaming laptop. My only gripes are the trackpad click, it's not very confidence inspiring and feels pretty cheap, the speakers are very very quiet and do not sound very full, and the keyboard's backspace key is weirdly short so anytime I go to press it I end up hitting the key to the right of it instead.

Great content creation laptop!

I got it specifically for creating music and music videos and it is handling the software wonderfully. It is well built and esthetics are nice. The only downside is the battery life is not very long.

Regarding your comment on battery life – as you may know there are lots of variables that contribute to battery and in gaming laptops that can increase even more due to their high-powered processors and graphics cards. If you want to squeeze out more battery life and are completing non-intensive graphics tasks, you can utilize the MUX switch built into this model to turn off the dedicated GPU to greatly decrease power draw. This can be done in the Lenovo Vantage app > top right box > GPU working mode, then choosing your preferred method. Users can also take advantage of the keyboard shortcut, Fn + Q to toggle thermal modes and easily switch between prioritizing battery life or power, or even the best of both words, along with custom settings configurable in Lenovo Vantage. You could also press the Fn + R key combo to toggle to a lower refresh rate for even greater power conservation.

To start, regarding performance, this could be due to excess heat which can lead to performance throttling to protect internal components. This LOQ is equipped with an active cooling system, along with other components and software, designed to enable the user to power through work without throttling due to heat produced. We recommend that the bottom of the device, where the air intake vents are, is clear of obstructions to increase air flow. Additionally, this LOQ features Smart Control, enabling the user to use the key command combination of Fn + Q to toggle between thermal/performance mode.
For instances where you may use the device in your lap or a situation where the intake vents may be obstructed, we recommend switching to cool or quiet mode to help with the heat felt on the bottom of the machine.
Also, please check for and apply any available updates through Lenovo Vantage and Windows Update Settings to help ensure you are using the latest software and drivers to ensure your system is running as efficiently as possible.

It has played all the games he wants to play and done so with ease. he was getting frustrated with the frame rate and the lag from his previous laptop. this one has the chips and processer that makes the issues nonexistant. Great buy!!

To start, with Wi-Fi, let's see if this can be address with software updates first. You can check for relevant updates via the Lenovo Vantage app. Start by opening the Vantage app, then on the homepage, select the Check for updates button, following on-screen prompts to apply all available updates. If this doesn't resolve the matter, please consider these other troubleshooting steps--
Run the Built-In Troubleshooter:
- Go to Settings > System > Troubleshoot > Other troubleshooters
- Run the Network and Internet troubleshooter
- Follow the on-screen instructions to diagnose and fix issues.
Reset Your Network Adapter:
This refreshes all network settings and reinstalls drivers:
- Go to Settings > Network & Internet > Advanced Network Settings
- Scroll down and click Network Reset
- Click Reset now and confirm
- Your PC will restart—reconnect to Wi-Fi afterward.

Great Beginner Gaming Laptop

This laptop has been great for me to get into the scene and learn more about pc gaming. So far it runs all the games I want to play with minimal fiddling. The performance seems good, and coming from console everything looks great. I would recommend this to folks who want to dip their toes into the pc gaming scene.

Despite being lost in the mail on the first go, Best Buy support was quick to get a replacement ordered. The specs were nice, but upgraded to 32 gb asap for future proofing. A major concern is the weak battery life, especially when gaming.

Bought this to replace my macbook pro 13 inch that lasted me 9 years (broke due to seemingly inevitable flexgate issue). If you take care of this laptop appropriately, it should last you a long time. My only gripe is the battery life does diminish quickly so always keep your charger on you.

Very Good with Black Friday price.

I needed to upgrade the SSD and RAM because i need more space and future proof it before RAM prices get even more expensive. Also I have upgraded the WiFi card to support WiFi 7. The upgrades are good for future proofing but even without them the laptop can play any modern game at 1080p with medium settings. Runs quiet and the the temps are manageable. Overall for the money i paid during Black Friday is a steel.
