    Don't Buy!

    DO NOT BUY!!!!!!! First the pros: The refrigerator size and layout is amazing. Lots of space for everything. But after that, everything goes downhill. The fridge is part of a class action lawsuit due to the compressor. After less than two years, it stopped cooling. Everything in the refrigerator/freezer spoiled. Repairmen wouldn't touch it and refused to repair it due to the lawsuit. Went through LG, which took forever, to finally get it repaired and got compensation for the spoiled food. Three years later, problem arises again. Freezer no longer freezes, spoiled food and to fix it repairman asked for $1000. Owned it for less than 6 years. Don't even consider this unit.

    Tired of the noise

    I've owned this refrigerator a year and a half. They've replaced the ice maker 3 times and I'm about to call to schedule yet another service call. Problem is the gears that turn to push the ice from the tray. The cheap parts make a knocking noise that I can hear clear across my house. They won't replace the fridge because it's cheaper to keep replacing the part! So my guess is when my extended warranty is up in January, I'll be stuck with the noise forever!

    We've purchased LG products in the past for their quality and reliability, but this refrigerator is hot garbage. We had the ice maker go out on us early spring of 2021 and had it replaced since we bought the extended warranty. Two days ago our freezer stopped freezing and now our refrigerator isn't cooling and there isn't a tech in our area so we're having to wait several days just to have someone come and look at repairing this appliance. I also didn't realize that this model was part of a class action lawsuit because of the terrible compressor. We regret purchasing this refrigerator and won't look at another LG product going forward.

    The fridge was noisy (WAS) best buy was good enough to exchange it out for the same LG that did not have the door in a door. It works just as nice and no noise. When I say noise I mean the fridge vibrated and any items in the door would shake or vibrate making a loud vibration. Now the new one makes no noise, which makes my wife make less noise that I have to hear. Thanks BB your service 5 star

    Broken Brand LG

    Bought this fridge 2 years ago and now it has broke down for the second time. First time I had it replaced because of bad compressor and now more than half of the towns repair company's won't come out to look at fridge because they say they won't fix LG brands because it take forever to get parts or they are horiable to deal with!!! Stay way from this brand! Even workers at the store say people have problems with this brand!

    Disappointed in reliability & storage flexibility

    We've had this refrigerator for almost 4 years, and the ice maker now needs to be replaced for the 3rd time. First 2 times were covered by the extended warranty. Now that the warranty has expired I worry about the long term maintenance cost. We also find this refrigerator to be less friendly when it comes to internal space, the shelves have very limited adjustment, so you have to make do with where LG decided you need to fit things. This was our first LG unit, and likely our last.

    Would NOT Purchase This Fridge Again

    We bought this model in August 2015. It generally works as a refrigerator. However, the compressor went out in September 2017 - about 2 years after we bought it. The parts are covered under the LG warranty but the service is not. So, we spent about $200 to get it fixed. And the local service rep they sent did not have the necessary parts and had to order them. So it was about 10 days between the date they cam out and when it was actually fixed. The compressor is now out again in July 2020. They will send a service rep out because the part is covered (provided I can give them an ORIGINAL receipt from 2015). BTW - they need the original because some parts are not covered after 5 years. Even though they have the previous service call on file and the record of when the refrigerator was purchased. They have now scheduled someone to come out with 3-5 business days. My fridge is not cooling anything so 3-5 days is not a great result here. And another $200 dollars is going to be spent for the service fee. In any case, I would think twice about buying a product from a company like this that has poor quality parts and clearly is trying to avoid honoring their warranty by making folks provide the original receipt when they already have a record of the date of purchase. If you want like the model, I would purchase something similar from a different company.

    i own LG refrigerator for 6 years. do not buy an LG refrigerator. They have a class action law suit because their product breaks so much. Their compressor breaks so much they were forced to change their warrant policy. They initially offered 1-year warranty, (ridiculous), now they extended it to 5 years. 1st year water dispenser would get stuck and water would continue to pour out, since it broke on 13 months, they wouldn't fix it. 2nd year ice maker breaks. 6 year compressor is broken. so many problems. i have 2nd refrigerator from a different company that lasted 12 years without an issue. LG just makes their product look pretty, very unreliable. I feel ashamed to be a Korean-American, LG is korean company.

    Has broken down twice

    This fridge has broken down twice in the past 2 years. All of our food both times have gone bad. We won’t buy LG again. Wish we read reviews before purchasing. The extra space on the door is convenient though!

    This refrigerator looks great ,but it broke down after two years & the manufacturer warranty is crap. Make "SURE" you purchase best buy additional pkg, for added protection & shorter repair time. Manufacturers will drag their feet for weeks to come out for repairs. They'll also try to make you buy a repair frig until they arrive for repairs. I wouldn't recommend this product or any other LG appliances ,they look great but not reliable.

    This fridge has been amazing for about 3 1/2 years. Purchased in March 2018 the ice maker had to be replaced August 2021. Now, the compressor has failed November 2021. Compressor is under 10 year warranty but the labor is $700. At this point we could have bought a new fridge. Everything has spoiled. I strongly recommend to not buy this unit you will regret it.

    Ice Maker is broken after 2 years

    Ice maker no longer drops ice after two years, and it's out of warranty. The water also comes out at a strange angle which causes many users to miss the cup and spray the floor at first instead. Not my favorite.

    Do yourself a favor an don't buy LG refrigerators. The highly praised Linear compressors have a very short life span and don't get repaired by LG. Mine is 2 years old and stopped cooling. After fighting with LG service call center for two weeks I was able to get a service call. Tech arrived and without looking at the fridge he said "yes, bad compressor". I was happy because of the 10 year warranty! Well after waiting 2 weeks for a new compressor it worked for less than 24 hours before it died again. Now 2 weeks later and three more service call it still doesn't work. $1,500 for two years use isn't a very good investment. Don't even bother to call Best Buy unless you bought geek Squad protection, and LG just gives you the run around every time you call them.

    I purchased this model for its style and convenience of door-in-door. The ice-maker stopped working after the second year and I have had to replace the compressor twice...yes, twice. I was a loyal customer but... The refrigerator is now 5-6 years old and the compressor has failed again. **LG, this makes three strikes.**

    Down hill after 4 years

    I love my fridge but once year 4 hit the compressor failed and had to have it fixed under warranty less then 8 months later and yet again another manufacturer issue and it’s not working. Thankfully still covered under warranty but when something else fails in another 8 months it will no longer be under warranty. Love the fridge but not the longevity for the price
