    Don’t purchase, freezer stopped working after 3yr

    Purchased the refrigerator 08/2020 and my freezer has stopped working months ago, it recently stopped making ice. I’ve thrown out hundreds of dollars of food, due to items not freezing and spoiling. Purchased the 3 year Geek Squad protection but that was a waste.

    One major problem with my fridge

    I have had this refrigerator for roughly 2 years now and I love everything about it except for one flaw that we have had an issue with: the ice maker. Within the first five or so months of owning this refrigerator, the ice maker stopped working suddenly. It took about 4 different visits from GeekSquad until they finally realized that the water line had frozen up in the door, for which the only remedy was to replace the entire door, which of course, was a special order. It seemed to do the trick, at least for the time being, but now it has apparently happened again. I don't know if this is just a fluke with my particular machine, but it is certainly an annoyance and an inconvenience. I would otherwise recommend this appliance, but this has been a big enough pain in the butt for me to say that it's not worth it.

    LG Door-in-door side-by-side refrigerator 26.0

    Purchased LG Door In Door Side By Side refrigerator in August 2019. One week before the one year warranty expired, the freezer and refrigerator quit cooling. We had been out of town when this happened, so we ended up losing most of our food. We called Cust Serv and they set up a service call with A&E (not a great company to deal with). Earliest appt was set for 2 weeks later. The man came and said the blower/compressor were bad. The man ordered a compressor and told us to call as soon as it arrived. It arrived in five days. When we called A&E, an appt was set for 10 days later. A&E called 3 days BEFORE our scheduled appt and said they were on their way. We told him we were out of town and wouldn't be home for two days. He said he'd have to re-schedule us because our appt had already been given to someone else. Two weeks later he came and repaired the refrigerator. We were 8 weeks without a refrigerator/freezer. Now 4 months later we are starting to have problems with the ice maker. We have 4 major LG appliances - I will never buy another one again. The LG Cust Serv people are hard to understand, the repair company they recommend is unreliable and also not every repair service company works on LGs appliances.

    refrigerator is great...LG and Best Buy NOT

    Purchased this refrigerator 3 months ago. Works fine. But it makes a loud grinding grudging noise. We have had 5 service calls. Nobody has any idea what is going on. Can't be fixed I tried to contact Best Buy and LG for a replacement. They make it so difficult that there is no way to succeed...Phone tree hangs up on you , chat sessions terminate for no reason. Literally impossible to get anyone to help with an exchange. I would suggest you purchase a non LG product from someone other than Best Buy

    DON’T DO IT!!!

    Bought this fridge last Dec 2018, wasn’t available until 2/19 to be delivered. We have had this fridge 9 months and have already had to have the compressor replaced and now it is making a loud noise and we think the condenser is going out. Makes really loud noises and is the worst fridge we have ever had!!! Do not buy this fridge! If you do...good luck!!!

    Another failed compressor

    Add me to the list of many with a failed compressor. Only owned fridge for 3 years. It's been 2 1/2 weeks now without a fridge and still waiting on LG to get it fixed. Tech came out and said he replaced 5 that week, yet didn't stock a new one on the truck and has to be ordered each time. CNN190728055023

    Three year old LG refrigerator and the compressor goes bad. Customer service nightmare. Technician comes, changes $400 under warranty. Still does not work. More customer service problems. So far 5 days without a refrigerator. Avoid at all cost.

    Steer clear or LG products if you are in MA. Freezer dies after 7 months and we are going on 4 weeks without a service person even coming to look at it. Best Buy came and diagnosed, great service so far. LG is a nightmare to work with. Customer Support is unhelpful. Hard to get any service person in the area to help. We asked for a refund and for someone to take it away and they aren’t willing to even do that. I don’t write many reviews but I hope people take this one seriously. Go with a different brand and research their supportability first.

    Compressor died 2 years in. Worked fine until it didn’t, luckily I had extended protection.

    Loved this refrigerator while it worked. Only lasted 6 years and compressor went out. Repairman said there have been a number of problems with LG's linear compressor and to avoid it when buying another.

    Bad compressor!

    Bought fridge in 2016 and compressor is already bad. Took over a week to have repairman come and now need the part which will be another 2-3 weeks. This is a ridiculously long time to go without a refrigerator! Very unhappy. The repairman said it's common for the compressor to go out on LG models.

    This is NOT Black Stainless Steel

    We bought this refrigerator 1 year ago and loved that it said "Black Stainless Steel" however its NOT. It's a thin overlay film and it peels. I have 2 kids that will leave excess ice in the tray, once it melts the water runs down and damages the black overlay film and it peels like very thin finger nail polish and theres no way to repair and it looks horrible. I am so disappointed. My fridge is less than a year and looks like its 20 years old.

    Compressor problems

    Linear Compressor failure is a major problem with this model. Ours is only 4 years old, beware, 2 class action suits have already been settled. Difficult to get help from LG and waiting to get a tech out to replace/repair. Do your research!!

    Makes more noise and vibration than any refrigerator we have ever owned. Black stainless looks great. Door in door is great. It started out OK then noise started. We had service come out they said we just had jars and things touching and that was causing the noise. Over time it has gone from occasional to constant noise / excessive vibration. Looking forward to replacing it.

    LG Has Horrible Customer Service!

    Stopped cooling after 3 years. LG customer service was horrible. No appointments were available and they kept telling us to call back, as they wouldn't even schedule us beyond 5 days out. Who can wait weeks with a broken fridge?

    Product has broken down twice in 4 years

    In the first few years of having this fridge, the condenser was defective and nothing was cooling. I then had to get a technician to fix it that LG suggested and now fast forward to today the fridge is not cooling again which is likely due to the replaced condenser being faulty AGAIN. I find it unacceptable that I spend $1500 plus another few hundreds for repair and the fridge can't even last 4 years.

    Bought this side by side fridge back in Dec 2016. So far the compressor has broken, the paint is just coming off and the door button snapped. Would not recommend this to anyone. I also purchased the matching over. Stay away !!! Worse mistake I made.

    The refrigerator is abnormal
