I was coming from an old school top loader which finally died. Didn't want front loader(bad back) and this model had many fans.have been very happy with it-water use seems great, clothes are clean, spin cycle is super, need to empty right away as wrinkles will stay in.I am 5ft7 inches and need a step stool to reach the bottom of the washer as mine is on a little platform. Soap use is so much less than my old machine.I vote 5+ for this washer!

I'll never get another washer without an agitator. Doesn't use much water either and sometimes clothes don't seem like they even got wet. The remedy for this is to always wash on the bulky/bedding cycle, which means all the other settings are good for nothing. And there are balancing rods in there that go bad. May take days to do a load (unless you babysit the machine) because it keeps stopping due to "ue" uneven load. Can't wait to get a new washer.

This LG Washing machine has made my life sooooo much easier! Our clothes come out practically dry. My last machine was on the blink for quite some time and I had to "wring" my clothes of before. This machine is easy to work, LOVE-LOVE-LOVE the controls being right up front. It's really cool to see the clothes cleaning through the top glass. LG & BEST BUY are my 2 new favorite brands!

When I found that for the cost of a CHEAP front loader, I could get all the features of a HIGH END front loader, IN THIS TOP LOADER, I WAS SOLD! I've been researching front loaders for MONTHS, trying to make sure I got high quality, for a good price....after reading all the reviews I was losing home.....UNTIL I FOUND THIS SET! So stylish, so functional! So in love!! Just a note, my short friend (5'3") has a hard time reaching into the drum to unload clean clothes. I don't have a problem, but I'm 5'9"

    My first LG product

I haven't bought many appliances in my life but I really wanted a new washer and dryer and I spent a lot of time researching what to buy. I finally made my decision after reading a Consumer Reports magazine about the best washers and dryers. I have relied on the brands that I was familiar with and my last washer and dryer was a Whirlpool. I was skeptical about buying anything by LG but when CR picked this washer and the matching dryer as a top 5 I knew I had to get it! I am so happy with this purchase. I took delivery about 6 days ago and have used it about 8 times and I am very satisfied that I made a great purchase! I was amazed at how quiet that the washer and dryer were operating that I had to check them a number of times.I absolutely love the tune they both make at the end of the cycles! There is only one thing that I have to get used to and that is I have to stand on a stool to get out the clothes from the washer because I am vertically challenged but this I can get used to! I also got 40% of the price of both appliances thanks to Best Buy's July 4th sale!!!! The delivery went smoothly and the guys had it set up and running within 20 minutes!

I wanted to wait to review this washer until the "honeymoon" phase was over. I have had it for 2 months now and I am still impressed by it every time I use it. The capacity is huge without the agitator. The array of wash options make it easy to choose the right one for the load. The washer is quiet, efficient and uses significantly less water than my old unit. Best of all, the clothes are much cleaner than my previous washer and also much drier, which saves time and energy when using the (matching) dryer. Got a great deal on the pair, and haven't looked back since.

Had a front loader washer and hated the fact that it had to be wiped so well and still had mold building up. This LD, top loader is user friendly, quiet, accommodates big loads, washes very well, can interrupt cycles at any time to add a missed piece of clothing. Also the door can be folded to allow for ventilation, which is an interesting feature. The price was very fair and I am very happy with this product. Thinking about getting the dryer soon. I also especially like that it is a He, therefore energy efficient.

Big tub so great for large loads & bedding. Super quiet! Lot's of options for cleaning. Does a great job with cleaning the clothes. Much better than my previous GE front loader. Drawback, if you are short you may struggle to get the clothes out of the bottom of the tub. I'm not short & I do have to stretch sometimes to get that last sock!

I had to buy a machine quickly and was forced to buy something within two hours. With quick research I found this machine to be not only the best value monetarily, but also for it's performance. The LG holds a tremendous amount of clothes, cleans them beautifully and after the cycle is over, has spun them so well, we have less dry time in our dryer. It's super quiet too. On top of all that, it's energy efficient, and if you have a program in your area, the dept. of water and power may provide a rebate.

We just got it two days ago. We had a Cabrio Whirlpool for four years, and it was horrible, the clothes always came back still stinking and dirty, we just couldn't spent in a new one. But now we decided to move on. We saw the great reviews and it really paid off. Thank you all for making reviews it really helps. I am impressed by the way this machine works, the water is coming from the top in two ways, that all the clothes get wet, and It is easy to operate. Very satisfid.

Overall I'm happy with the washer. It uses very little water and cleans well. It is spacious and can fit sleeping bags and other bulky items. Only problem is that it goes off balance frequently since there is no center agitator column.

Pros: Delivery and setup people who did the install were very good, polite and professional individuals. They got it installed and hooked up very quickly. They were very knowledgeable about the product and trained me about the digital controls and features so I never had to read the manual on how to operate. It is actually pretty easy to operate and select the type of cycle, water temperature and spin speed you desire. Thumbs up for the Best buy delivery and install. And they hauled away my 28 year old Frigidaire agitator that was still functional but some internal seals started to go bad and it started to leak onto the floor when I did some washing. However it washed my clothes very well. I have 15 year old whites that look as white and bright as when new. So in my mind this new washing machine has a lot to live up to. As far as the wash I haven't noticed any difference in the appearance or cleanliness of my clothes compared to my old machine but then I have only had it 3 weeks and have only done about a dozen loads. 3 of those were large comforters that I previously had to go to the laundry mat to wash. This machine takes king size with ease and they came out clean and smelling fresh. I haven't washed any real soily clothes yet so I can't comment on that. The manual does state to use a specific liquid detergent type but I have a large box of tide powder that needs to get used up before I buy any more detergent and it seems to do a good job. I like the viewing window in the top lid as you can see how the wash and detergent suds up. Lets you know if you used to less or too much detergent. The machine runs very quiet compared to my old agitator. The auto balancing and load weight detection to know how much water to use at the start of the wash is pretty strange and can take a few minutes before the water is added but seems to work pretty well as the machine hardly shakes at all during the wash. You can see the stainless steal drum moving around quite a bit during high speed spins but you don't really feel it transferred to the chassis. The drum is mounted on some kind of suspension system which I am leery about as I have been in the electrical\mechanical manufacturing business for over 25 years and I just can't imagine how this was designed to work this way and spin at such high RPM's. I almost want to take it apart to see how it was designed to work. I am skeptical on the long term use of this design what ever it is. I didn't buy the matching dryer as the dryer I have now is only 3 years old but is your plain Jane dryer. Reviews said the clothes come out of the wash only damp because of the high speed spin so why spend extra money on a new matching dryer. I am glad I didn't because they come out of the wash feeling only damp and my drying time is now cut in half from previously and the dry time is your main expense when washing clothes. Side by side they look good together. The washing machine is only a couple inches taller then the dryer. But the drum is deep. If you are a short person with short arms you will need a step stool to be able to bend over to retrieve clothes at the bottom of the drum. I am 5' 6" with average length arms and don't need a stool but just barely. Cons: I really only have 1. Time it takes to complete a wash. Normal cotton is 57 minutes and other cycles will take up to 1:15. There is a speed wash cycle(of which I haven't tried yet) but that takes 35 minutes. My old agitator was about 25 minutes. But it did take an extra 15 to 20 minutes to dry as the clothes were still almost dripping when they came out of the wash. Conclusion: Initial impression is good. Long term use has yet to be determined. For the price you can't beat the product in my mind but then I am not into rating washing machines on a regular basis. I have quite a few of LG products and I have been satisfied with everyone of them.

With all the buttons I thought this machine would be difficult to learn how to use, but it is easy and very intuitive. It is efficient and uses far less water than my old machine and spins the clothes so well that drying time is reduced. All that, and it is incredibly quiet.

A very good washing machine in my opinion. It is quiet, effiicient, and produces clean articles. Its capacity is amazing and I wish I had had it when all of my children were growing up. It has lots of choices for how articles are to be washed and is easy to operate.

We have had the unit for just over a month so will check back later on durability, but for now, its easy to understand, has saved me a little on my water bill ($15-20) , very quiet, does not rock and walk during spin cycle. My wife loves that the lid locks so that my very inquisitive granddaughter cannot open the lid during the spin cycle to reach inside (she tried to twice on our last machine). I like how it figures out how big the load is to know how much water to use and using the pods saves me money on detergent. Plus it actually CLEANS the clothes!

I've had this new washer for about a month now, and I couldn't be more pleased. It replaced a GE front-loading washer that I bought about four years ago that I never really cared for. So, when the control panel went out on it, it was either get it fixed for $400+ or get a new washer. I read customer and site reviews and settled on this LG washer. I'm so glad I did! The first thing I noticed was just how big the barrel is, and that there's no agitator. The washer senses how many clothes are in it and adds the right amount of water. Instead of putting the detergent in the water and then adding your clothes, there's a dispenser for detergent/bleach/softener. I can't believe how much softer my clothes feel compared to my former washer, and they dry more quickly as well. My sons even bring their laundry over from their apartment because it can handle big loads. I'm very happy with this purchase as I feel I got great quality for the price, and I will definitely look at the LG dryer as well as other LG appliances as I'm very, very satisfied with this one! (My youngest son gets a kick out of the little tune that it plays at the end of the cycle. He says it sounds like a "coming home" song for sailors who are back in port from sea. My dogs hear it and think someone's at the door. LOL)

This is my first "non agitator" washer. I was skeptical that things could still get clean. But I am more than satisfied. Not only are they very clean but with using less fabric softener they seem to be softer. Because of all the reviews I read, i am very careful to follow the instructions. Putting the clothes wrapped around the outside with the heavier ones (jeans, sweats) on the bottom. I find that I am actually doing much less laundry because it can handle the larger loads. Although I used to wash only with cold water, when this washer recommends warm I let it go with that because it uses so little water. of coarse things will be wrinkled if you leave them there all day, but I tend to get them out within an hour and have had no problems with the wrinkles not coming out in the dryer. I am using the HE detergent, and yes it is a tad more expensive, but if you follow sales and use coupons it works out to be about the same. I haven't noticed much difference in dryer time because the loads tend to be much bigger and I still have the same dryer. But I do see a difference when I do just a few jeans on heavy spin, they don't take as long to dry. Overall, I like the controls in the front, I love using less water and doing less loads and I do not miss the agitator. .
