Love, love, love this washer! It's great! Get's stains out and is energy efficient! I was hesitant about the detergent capacity that is required, but it's perfect because it leaves your clothes smelling fresh! Highly recommended!

We had this washer for 3 weeks now. Seems nice and new. I was a
litlle discouraged on relearning to wash clothes. But the manual is in two languages, so it's not as much to learn as I thought. Wife even used it without reading, just some stuff I passed onto her.
I had one load that almost went into a error from the load getting unbalanced. Since I felt like I did not know what I was doing, I was running down stairs to check about every 15 minutes or so. The washer was rocking pretty hard. I turned it off and had to pull the stuff out and redistribute it and everything was fine.
Another thing, you have to watch for waterproof things, it says it can mess up the washer. I did wash our bed liner, not water proof but large and padded. A lot of dirt had collected in the creases, so I washed the second time. Same results the second time. Also, if you are a pet lover. We have 3 dogs and 3 cats and they do sleep with us. Not at the same time anyway...LOL
I see a lot of hair build up and the hair will not go anywhere but to the dryer. Way worse than the old style. I even shook out the blankets, etc.
All I can say, its nasty. Just make sure use a dry sheet in the dryer so the hair is not stuck to everything, I made that mistake the first time. That way it will collect the hair in the vent screen.
So in general we decided to keep the washer. Was kind of in the middle of the road to keep it or get something else. So here we are and it could be I/we just hate change. My last washer was 20 years old, I can only hope this one will last just as long...
Good luck on your search and hoped I helped with some important info.
I like the washer, just not in love with it. And one last thing, it makes the strangest noises. I seen someone saying it sounded like a jet taking off, all true. Not loud, just different

My wife and I were never fans of equipment that contain a lot of bells and whistles. Our previous push button washer and dryer lasted 32 years and did a good job. This Washer and it's companion dryer out perform our expectations, but we would be surprised if these machines will last even 10-15 years. They are always an adventure when laundry time arrives, and I enjoy trying the different load settings (I have to fight with my wife to do the laundry - what times we live in).. These play tunes when the wash completes, but we do have to get some better recordings to play back. There is no rotating drum transmission, so I guess that's why they warranty these so well. Wash is clean as it can get. Did have some trouble with heavy load shifting....and did not like the idea that I had to keep my eye out for errors displayed.

I purchased this washer to replace my old washer that had an agitator. I was skeptical of the HE washers and researched them for three weeks before deciding on this one. It was easy to install. I have been using it for over three months now. I have not had any issues with "unbalanced" loads as some have written about, but I made sure that the washer was level upon installation as others had directed. I also read the entire instruction manual before attempting my first load and kept it handy. These HE washers are definitely different than the washers we all grew-up with. I am now used to all the differences and have washed regulars, heavily-soiled, bedding, towels, and a comforter and all come out very clean. I would recommend using the extra rinse cycle with bulkier items as instructed. Overall I am very pleased with this purchase.

Very energy efficient, washes great and the spin cycle is unbelievable, don't have to run the cloths dryer as long, the spin cycle really wrings them out.
Extra large tub for comforters, large blankets, afghans, etc.

Nice Washer - Unbalanced

The washer does a great job cleaning clothes and is very efficient, but becomes unbalanced a lot. This occurs when we use heavy items like towels or bedsheets. After we stop the machine and re-adjust it will finish.

The best thing if you have children, or even if you don't, the slow close lid will not pinch any little fingers, nor will it hurt yours trying to catch a fast closing lid any more.
Turn it on, move the dial to the desired wash cycle, select options if needed, have clothes and soap and softener in, shut the lid, and return when it is done. Easy as that, and easy to do large loads, I feel that I hardly put anything in, even on bulky loads of bedding.
The safety slow close lid also locks during wash cycle so it can't be opened accidentally, you need to pause the cycle and it will unlock the lid for you. It has a tub clean cycle to keep itself clean and not just your clothes.

I replaced my old agitator style washer with this one. I thought it was going to take some getting used to, but found that to not be the case at all. I love all the wash cycle options, the clothes are clean, and the spinning is far superior in getting the water out. Amazingly, the clothes that I hang-dry hardly have any wrinkles at all which is a vast improvement compared to my old washer. I love the technology built into this washer...it calculates the water needed and lets you know if you've got an uneven load situation. It makes me look forward to doing a load of laundry. And the "end of cycle" tune is a cute feature, but let me also say that when I am on the other side of the house, it's distinctiveness is much easier to hear.

Best Buy had a terrific sale on this washing machine over the labor day weekend so I purchased it for our new house. The delivery guys were great and were very careful delivering and setting up the appliance. This washer really gets the job done with large loads of laundry. Not having an agitator in the middle of the washer is awesome as they are so annoying when putting clothes in and taking them out. It is easy to figure out how to run and runs very quietly as well. There are so many features for anyone who truly needs many different washing options as well. All in all it is a great value as the features for the price range are very good.

Decent machine

This is a decent machine. Easy to use, easy to set up, quiet and cleans the clothes pretty well. It doesn't use an actuator, so the tub is huge. It's a high efficiency machine and uses less water, most of the time. You don't get to choose the water level, it does that for you. The bad part about this machine is that it's slow. It takes 57 minutes for a standard wash cycle. That's assuming it doesn't get out of balance along the way. If it does, it will keep adding water in it's attempt to fix it, while making the cycle even longer. Sort of defeats the whole water efficiency thing, if you ask me. Your best bet is to pause the machine and re-balance it yourself. If you really have a lot of time on your hands, try running the heavy duty cycle. You could take a trip to Hawaii and back and it might be finished with the cycle by the time you get back.......maybe. The other thing about it that I really HATE is the whole child lock thing. I don't have little kids so why do I have to put up with a d@mn child lock? Would it make sense to force every car on the road to have a built in child seat, whether they have kids or not? No. I want to be able to open the lid of my own machine whenever I please, period.
That being said, it is still a good machine and I do recommend it.

I had reviewed washing machines and felt that LG was my best choice. The first one I had decided on ended up being discontinued, so I chose the next model up, and it is wonderful. It has a huge load capacity, many cycles to choose from, and is relatively quiet. I had always had a standard washer and was a little skeptical about the High Efficiency machines, but it is great. My clothes come out nice and clean and fresh. I'd say the only thing I was hoping for was a see through lid, but then again, that might get all ugly and water spotted over time anyway, so maybe I'd hate it! Great great washer, I would recommend it highly.

This is our first HE washer. The Whirlpool conventional washer we had for ten years stopped working just before Christmas. After troubleshooting motor, timer and various switches and finding the motor to be faulty, we decided to find a new washer online. My wife liked this one the best. Best Buy had the best price and could have it delivered before Christmas Eve. Living in a subdivision with a private water company and paying too much for water, I have already noticed a decrease in water usage and $$$ saved! Larger capacity makes for less frequent loads. Also has an option for just about everything we want to wash. I can even wash my large sleeping bags. Now we just gotta get the matching dryer!

LG Washer

This washer and the matching dryer were purchased about six weeks ago. The capacity allows you to wash more clothes than the standard models with the agitator that I've always had. It is extremely deep and at 5'5", it's difficult to get all the clothes out. It has a stainless steel tub which is an upgrade from the porcelain that most older machines had. It plays a tune when the clothes have finished that will put a smile on your face. I like all the settings on the washer plus the fact that you have bleach, fabric softener and detergent dispensers. I was also impressed with the positive reviews that this model got.

It takes awhile to get used to how the machine operates, but the learning curve is short. The cycles are very long, but it does a great job getting the clothes clean. The 10 year motor warranty is the best I found researching models before I bought this one. I read some negative reviews, but from the comments I would guess they didn't read the instruction booklet completely. READ THE INSTRUCTIONS!

This washing machine is great, exactly what I was looking for. It has extra large capacity, multiple serving to meet any washing need and relatively quite considering it is a washing machine. It is very efficient and senses how large the load is and how much water to use. The spine cycle is so efficient at removing almost all of the water that some clothes come out feeling practically dry, which helps cut down on dryer time of course but can also be an issue with clothes that wrinkle easily and the drying cycle doesn't have time to help with. Overall I am thrilled with my new washing machine, glad my old front loader broke after only 31/2 years so I could get this one!

I recently replaced my 17 yr. old Maytag with this new LG. I was really concerned about buying one without an agitator and shopped/consulted many reviews before settling on this model. The wash times are much slower than my old model but the HUGE wash basin more than makes up for it. I can do one load where in my old one the same load would be two or three depending on what the load was and the spin cycle dries them out so much that my dryer time has been cut down considerably. I love this LG washer and would highly recommend it! I was also worried about the locking lid feature, but it has not been a problem at all, if I need to add something to the load I only need to press the pause button and wait a few moments and then I can get into the load. I have noticed, probably due to the low water usage that stains seem to come out better if they are pre-treated with detergent directly on the garment or by using a stain remover prior to washing. Love the little song at the end of the cycle.

Our 15 year old washer died. Researched atleast 10 different washers and decided on this one. Was EXTREMELY skeptical about top load washers without agitators. Decided to take a chance and got amazing results with this machine. Saw significant difference in whites, used bright white setting with bleach and extra rinse. This machine has a VERY large capacity. Great product, very happy with this machine so far (after over a month of use). Noise level is very low. We have never tried a NO SPIN cycle wash for water proof type of loads. Highly recommended.
