The washer cleans well. However, you do need to download the full manual (not the short one that comes with the washer). Then, look over not only the process of washing clothes but the maintenance required. Specifically: 1. Choosing the right setting. 2. Wiping the door seal after finishing and keeping the door open until it dries. 3. Running a tub cleaning cycle after every 30 washes. 4. Cleaning the drain pump filter on a regular basis. Many of the low ratings come from owners transitioning from top loader washers. All top loaders basically require is throwing clothes in, dumping in detergent, and pressing start if you don’t need to change settings like temperature. The WMA4000HWA is somewhat more complicated. When you turn it on, it seems to default to the Normal cycle. However, you need to turn the Cycle Selector Knob one click before the washer actually is in the Normal cycle. Otherwise, you won’t be able to select the cycle modifiers (what LG calls settings such as temperature and spin rate) on the control panel. Because it always defaults back to this semi-Normal state after power off, you can’t leave it in your favorite cycle. You need to be aware of that if this bothers you. Other low ratings come from people who don’t understand how the washer works. As an example, clothes won’t be sopping wet at the end of most cycles. The spin cycles remove a lot of the water. However, some of the fault is on LG for not explaining certain things in the manual. Besides the issue of the Normal cycle at start-up, I regularly get the “Sud” or Oversudsing Detection warning when washing dish towels. The manual does explain what the warning is and how to get out of it. However, it doesn’t suggest how to avoid the error by selecting the Bedding cycle which is for articles that don’t absorb water very well. The LG ThinQ application does have some value so long as you recognize it’s basically a monitoring tool The remote start function is of value only if you are willing to set it up before “going remote” and then want to send a signal to start washing before you arrive back. Also, it doesn’t warn you if you are getting the “Sud” warning. Instead, the time until cycle completion display never changes so you must figure out something is wrong. Finally, the manual doesn’t give you step-by-step instructions on how to configure the app and pair it to the washer. Instead, the manual expects you to understand that you need to download the app, create an account with a username and password, and then let the app walk you through the process. There supposedly is a QR code in the included manual to help but I never found it. The washer does what is supposed to do. It cleans clothes while using less detergent and water. However, you must be willing to understand how the washer works to get the best results. Otherwise, a top loader especially a commercial style top loader would be a better choice.

In all of my research I did not read anything about "TrueBalance" feature (see logo far right under control panel). I love, love, love how quite this machine is. The slosh of wet clothes is the loudest thing you'll get from this machine. After set up with a level, the spin cycle is sounds like a purring cat. My last LG high capacity never got close to being this enjoyable.

Exactly what we needed. Our old washer was 20 years old. I’m amazed at the large capacity for a washer that takes up the same amount of space as our old one. Easy to use despite the myriad of options on the panel. Pretty straightforward. I don’t think we’ll use the WiFi options though. Easy to stack with the dryer. I’m sure it uses far less energy too. Great design, love the black steel. And with 24 months O interest financing, the price was a no brainer. Definitely recommended.

I am VERY pleased with this purchase! It cleans very well but I will say be careful with the amount of detergent you use, even with HE, as it has left some suds in there and I've run a quick wash when this happens (only has happened when washing sheets/mattress protectors so maybe the combination of absorbent and backing causes the issue, I'm not sure. Even washing it alone with just the one item it will suds up pretty good so just be aware of that). We came from using a Maytag commercial 4.0 cubic ft top load washer and this is more stylish and the pedestals are a must, whether it's the LG ones or buying off brand or from amazon or making it or going to a scratch and dent place to get some for half the price, trust me, get them! Definitely make sure you balance the legs and also don't overload the drum. If you like large fluffy towels I'd say don't put more than 2 or 3 in there together because it will definitely make it rattle/get unbalanced, that's just the nature of those towels. All in all I'm very happy with this purchase and the delivery and install was SUPER fast and very easy. The drivers/installers were very kind and knowledgeable, bless their hearts having to do all that heavy lifting and moving. Would purchase all over again, also the ThinQ app is AMAZING! I don't leave clothes for hours and hours now forgetting that clothes are done and the downloadable cycles are a great feature! Also it hooks up to your Amazon Alexo/Echo devices and can notify you on those if you don't always have your phone on you.

I received this washer 3 weeks ago to replace a 13 year old Whirlpool Duet Front-Load washer. So far, I have done about 40 loads and have used most of the wash cycles. I am very pleased with this washer. It does a great job at getting our clothes clean. The spin cycle is excellent at removing as much moisture as possible so our clothes dry quickly in the dryer. The washer is very quiet. The chime that signals that a cycle is done is a pleasant tune but it is almost too quiet for me to hear, with the washer being located in the basement. I found the online manual to be more helpful than the more brief instructions that came with the washer. I have not been able to use the wi-fi function as the washer is located too far from our router. Overall, this was a good purchase.

This LG electric dryer is a game-changer. Its standout features? Whisper-quiet operation and remarkable efficiency. It runs so quietly I forget it's on. No more disruptive rumbling—just tranquility, day or night. Efficiency is top-notch. Clothes dry quickly and evenly, even bulky items. Plus, it's energy-efficient, saving on bills and reducing my footprint. The sleek design fits perfectly, and controls are intuitive. It's durable too, showing no wear after months of use. In short, if you want a quiet, efficient dryer that's built to last, this one's a winner.

Pros; We love the look of the LG. Easy to use. Works great as intended, only to a point however Quiet while running Cons (we purchased this model previously); What we found that was disappointing; - the boot developed a couple of holes due to rubbing in three locations. Need something to protect the boot from moving component. - the stabilizer (shocks) that keep the tub from moving around too much were worn to where they needed to be replaced. Need higher quality (not plastic) component. As it was going to be nearly the same cost for repairs we chose to purchase another washer so we did not have to purchase another dryer as well. Unfortunately I have found that most manufacturers produce a lower quality product than they have in the past. Not meant to last.

We upgraded our laundry with this machine, for sure!! This is one of the machines PSEG gives a rebate for, plus it was on open box deal, so it was right there for us as far as price goes. We rented a truck from Home Depot next door and drove it home for $20. We installed it, first thing was the pistons that hold the barrel inside had pulled apart, probably when the BB guys were loading it on the flatbed and dropped to the side.. once we figured out how to reset those, we were in laundry heaven, this thing cleans so nice, I find my favorite setting is 'Heavy Duty' it gets out even stubborn protein stains. We haven't connected it to our phone, that's just not necessary, my laundry doesn't need to know that much about my life... We've been using this machine for well over a year and have no complaints, it's quiet, does it's job well, and uses water efficiently. We use Earth Breeze laundry sheets so there is no soapy build up, we don't let clothes sit around and when not in use we leave it open to dry out.. there is no mildew smell and our clothes are always fresh. Plus, there is a drain access right at the front, which is super helpful, and the tub clean cycle is great to keep everything fresh.

This washer replaced an older LG front loader that died. It’s quieter than the older washer, especially while draining. It doesn’t have the usual buzzing drain pump that the older washer had. I also like the larger capacity: 4.5 cubic feet vs. 3.7 cubic feet of the older unit. And the interface with the ThinQ app is a nice bonus.

It’s a very good washing machine, arguably the best one I’ve ever had. Very easy to use, has versatile wash functions, and is efficient. Unless you’re washing heavy bedding or completely fill the tub with clothes it never takes more than an hour to wash a load

When my Washer and Dryer went out, I decided it was time to get a new set. After shopping around for a while, i stumbled upon LGs and the prices had dropped. I got them delivered and it was a very easy process. I had about a month and a half worth of clothes needed to be washed between three people. Both the washer and dryer were efficient and effective to use. I got through all of those clothes in less than a day. I considered taking them back because I learned that my old washed and dryer were fine to still use and the money invested was not necessary at the time, but I’m glad I didn’t. Doing laundry feels less like a chore because the ease of use, user friendly interface, and the efficiency.

Got this washer to replace a smaller set that I had pre getting married and having 3 kids. It’s pretty spacious and quick. If you are installing yourself, it’s heavy so getting it up stairs will be a two man job minimum. I also didn’t read the instructions and forgot to remove the shipping bolts. This caused my house to shake and the washer to be all a foot and a half. My kid thought Santa had arrived on our roof! After reading up, and removing the bolts, it’s very quiet. So many options that I don’t know when I’ll get to use them all. Seems to clean a ton of stuff including a king comforter with no problem.

The actual washer is superb. It is quiet. There are multiple cycles from which to choose and I've not owned it long enough to try them all. My major FRUSTRATION is with the LG company. There is NO detailed guide (Complete owner's manual) included with the washer. There is a booklet entitled Owner's Manual WASHING MACHINE that provides in depth detail r/t installation, owner maintenance, and owner troubleshooting. If the owner chooses to have MORE information regarding what EACH CYCLE does, then the owner must go to the website and either read it online OR print the information. I am NOT an individual who prefers to have my laundry accomplished WITHOUT first knowing what the cycles entail. I believe LG could afford to provide that data with the packet of data that is sealed in plastic and is inside the drum. I live in an area where there is excellent internet access. NOT ALL AREAS of the US have FAST and CONSISTENT internet coverage ALL the time.
