We are happy with this purchase, though it was definitely expensive and we had to wait a while for it to go on sale, and to actually get it, in 2021. That said, I've had the unit for nearly a year and can report it works well, with no real issues. I am still getting used to the arrangement of the burners, which is a little different than my previous stove. There are four induction burners and one regular warming burner that is electric. I am not sure I have ever used that warming burning. It's not needed and I'd rather have another induction burner. But that's relatively small potatoes. The induction burners are a good variety of sizes--two small burners, one medium, one large. That said, the only one that are the same are the two small back burners. That means that my two-burner flat griddle can only go across the back of the stove, and that's a bit annoying. Also, I've had issues with the biggest burner not always liking a pan. It's picky about sizing--and really only wants big pans on that biggest burner. It's also very picky about flat bottom pans (insert Queen reference here) and one cast iron pan I own, that has a design on the bottom and isn't perfectly flat, sometimes makes the range very unhappy. That said, as long as everything is a happy match, the induction range works perfectly. I think water may boil even faster on this one than on my previous stove, which was also induction but a measure older. The oven is good but requires getting used to only having a top element. The various settings are a bit mysterious to me--I'm not really sure what "convection roast" means vs. "convection bake." I read the manual, but I just pretty much dial up "convection bake" every time, unless I need a low temp. It will not use the convection setting with anything super low. I like to dry herbs at the end of the summer at a low heat, and this was a bit annoying last year. The warm setting, though, is useful and I've been able to more successfully keep bread dough warm/proofing in this oven than in the previous one. It is strange, though, not to have a bottom element. It is also nice to not drip junk on the bottom element, though! Also, the convection oven automatically downscales 25 degrees because the unit "thinks" its super efficient in convection mode. I have found this feature annoying, and almost always correct back to the regular temperatures. You can turn it off, but I'm too lazy to look it up in the manual. I read other people complaining about the difficulty of sliding the racks when I first decided to buy the oven. I thought, "These people are nuts. Who has issues with racks?" Truth be told though, I have found these racks to be annoying. I don't know why they are so tight and difficult to move, but if this is how LG gets people to pony up another nearly 1000 dollars for their *slightly* fancier mode, I'm kind of perturbed. These could definitely be better for an appliance that is as expensive as this one is. I am hopeful they will slide easier over time, but it has been nearly a year, and I still end them herky-jerky. I have not used the wifi features. I really don't need my oven to talk to the wifi. The

We moved into a home that had a range powered by propane. I had previously cooked on a gas range and loved it. I don’t know if the problem was with the stove or with the connection with the propane tank or what, but it didn’t work very well. It took forever to get the stove top up to temperature, it would take over 30 minutes for water to reach boiling point, same with the oven, 45 minutes for it to reach 450 and then the oven temperatures varied from one time to the next. It was horrible. This range is a dream in comparison, there is a little bit of a learning curve, as with any new technology. It’s amazing how quickly the burners come up to temperature, 8 cups of water can boil in 10 minutes. The cooktop is so easy to keep clean. I like that the oven can be used as a convection oven, cookie and biscuits come out an even golden brown, food cooks quickly and evenly. Although I had to purchase cookware that works with the induction cooktop it is worth it. It no longer takes me 2 hours to put a basic dinner on the table.

We've only had the range for a little over a month, but it hits the nail on the head. I've been using a portable induction cooker for a few months to make sure I'm happy cooking with the technology. This stove blows that unit away. It's quiet and heats pots and pans very quickly. More importantly you can control temperature down very quickly and effectively--no more broken sauces or burnt food because I couldn't lower the temperature properly. The performance of the convection oven is a game changer, too. It also matches our other LG appliances, even though they're a couple years old and we didn't buy them as a set.

I have been searching for a reasonably priced induction stove-top and convection oven, got this as an open box deal and could not be happier. Large induction burner allows me to use my 12" and 13" skillets, super fast heating, large convection oven all for less than $2k. Have been using it like a workhorse for about a week and it performs superbly for everything from searing to slow cooking. The baked items have come out evenly cooked and I have not yet found any cold or hot spots in oven. My only complaint is that I wish I could set actual temps on the induction, but with a little more time I will have it figured out.

We’ve wanted an induction range for a long time and this beauty does not disappoint. It’s been a nice upgrade from our previous, ‘builder grade’ glass top electric slide in range. The induction/convection combo plus the amazing sale price made this a no-brainer. We’ve only had it about a month but have been using it about 4 times/week and so far it’s great. Burner output control rivals gas, and convection oven turns out perfectly cooked food every time. Plays a cute song when preheated. Haven’t had to clean it yet other than a quick wipe so can’t speak to that. The only, somewhat trivial, complaint is having to turn a knob to select oven functions rather than selecting buttons on the front display panel. But it’s a minor inconvenience that doesn’t affect function. We did a lot of research and compared many ranges, and so far we are very happy with this purchase.

    RUST

I am genuinely torn about this range. On the one hand, the cooktop is genuinely great. Water boils quickly, and pans heat fast and evenly There's a good number of contact points to use simultaneously as well. A+ there. The oven works, though it doesn't blow our socks off. No problems there. The downside is the RUST. I've owned many stainless steel products over the years - not just appliances but sinks, trash cans, shower trims and more - and this range is *by far* the most rust-prone of any of them. We've been using it for less than six months and the area around the dials is practically covered with extremely-tough-to-remove rust spots. It doesn't even get especially wet, beyond occasional splashes during cooking or boiling water (which we quickly wipe up). This is with regular cleaning using stainless steel wipes, too. We paid a lot for this range, and as good as the cooktop is, we probably wouldn't purchase it again because of the rust. It's a shame.

Hi there, Lorna. We appreciate your detailed feedback about your LSE4616ST range, and we're glad to hear that you find the cooktop and oven performance to be satisfactory. However, we're sorry to hear about the issue with rust developing on the range.

Stainless steel appliances should generally be resistant to rust, and it's indeed unusual for such issues to occur in a short period. Here are some suggestions:

Cleaning: Continue using stainless steel wipes, but also ensure you're not using abrasive cleaners or scrubbing pads that may scratch the surface and make it more prone to rust.

Preventing Moisture: While you mentioned wiping up splashes quickly, ensure no moisture is lingering on the surface, especially around the dials and control area.

Warranty: Since your range is relatively new, it's worth checking if the rust issue might be covered under the manufacturer's warranty. Contact LG customer support for further information and potential solutions.

Your feedback is important, and it's disappointing to hear about your experience with rust on the range, given the investment you made. We're here to assist you, and we recommend contacting LG's customer support at (800) 243-0000 for further guidance and assistance. Thank you for choosing LG, and we hope to help you find a solution to this issue. ^Jolly LG

Oven heats evenly, a true pleasure to use. I did have trouble with the racks sticking at first. Washed them and they are fine now. If you are new to induction cooking, invest in a really good set of cookware first thing. Cheaper ones do not heat evenly. Knobs can be locked for safety. Response time for burner adjustments is nearly instantaneous. Enjoy

Stovetop is incredibily close to gas performance (without filling my house with the noxious carbon monoxide, formaldehyde and other harmful pollutants that gas cooking creates). Temperature change is almost instantaneous with the turn of the dial. Before buying, I tested all my cookware with a simple magnet to see which pots were going to work with the induction system. I did have to buy a few new items (flat-bottom wok). I was surprised to discover that a lot of stainless steel is not magnetic...who'd have guessed! Stovetop stays pretty cool--it's actually the heat of the pan that is transmitting some heat that the glass top absorbs, rather than there being a dangerous heating element under the glasstop. Glass top is of course important to care for meticulously, to avoid scratching, but that's the same issue with a regular electric stove. I use the oven less frequently, but it the convection feature works very well.

Well, I finally got to this review. It's been nearly three months since delivery, but the kitchen is nearly finished and the appliance is installed. Delivery: They hit the date and time and delivered it upstairs to my condo kitchen where they stared at the wires sticking out of the wall and told me that they couldn't install it, so I left that for the contractor. How it works: So far, excellent. My first use of the oven was to cook a couple of lasagnas for neighbors. The oven worked perfectly. I've since made pasta on the stove top. I think the water boiled faster, but didn't time it. Yes, I'm reading the instructions still, but everything is pretty intuitive, and easy to use. I'll have some learning ahead to make the best use of the convection setting on the oven and to work with the induction cooktop. I'm also glad that there's a non-induction warming burner as well. With this limited use, I'm 100% satisfied with the purchase.

Love this stove. I was used to gas, but in our new neighborhood their was no gas. Bought this induction stove and couldn’t be happier. The burners work as advertised and they are a revelation. The convection oven is wonderful. Haven’t used the Wi-Fi but honestly didn’t really care about that. Oh also had spill in the oven with some almond cream and had to wait until everything finished cooking before I could clean it. To my surprise it wiped up so easily you’d never know there was a spill.

Love the induction cooktop on this range. I can now use my stainless steel pans without sticking. The convection oven is great for making Kale Chips and such without all of the fat. There is a learning curve with the induction. Trial and error. The pans heat up VERY quick so the trick is to put the oil or butter in immediately and put the food in before it starts to burn. Also found Ben the associate in the store to be very helpful. I try to buy locally to support our community. These people need jobs.

Total control of heat. I love that this LG has knobs instead of digital controls. The oven is amazing. I baked a cake to perfection. Cleans up so easily. Highly recommend. ;)

We have now had this range for about a year. It is hands down the best range I have owned. It is my first induction and I do not plan to go back to gas (or certainly never an electric- the worst!) I love how fast you can change the heat level. The top stays really clean because nothing burns to it. My previous electric was so hard to keep clean. With the induction, the actual top does not heat, only the pot. You can literally safely pick up a pot and wipe the spill underneath while the induction is working! I love the feeling of safety that the top itself does not heat and will just shut itself off if no magnetic pot is detected. I used to worry my curious pups would turn on a gas or electric and cause a fire. The oven is even and does a great job with baking.

So far so good. In 6 months of ownership, I have had one issue. The front right 'burner' has been replaced - it was not detecting my pans, except for the cast iron. It still has some problems detecting pans on that 'burner' but it works fine if I don't go to the highest setting first. The induction is so awesome. Instant temperature changes, water boils so quickly. What a difference from conventional electric. I would 100% buy this again.

Straight out of the box this thing is a breath of fresh air. I’ve got my first big meal on this coming up tonight, and I’ve only cooked myself a couple of eggs and a grilled cheese as of yet, but it’s certainly a step up from electric. Speaking of step up, get rid of all those aluminum pans. They don’t register on the burners (they may work on the warming burner, but I’ve not had time to test that hypothesis just yet). My cast iron double sided griddle works on the back two burners (both sides register). No need to “arc” the two burners (like on an electric cook top). The oven is huge, and I can’t wait to test it. The oven knob is a bit confusing, as they have a redundant touch control that accompanies it (maybe the knob is for safety, I don’t know). The app is exciting, although this is my only smart LG appliance (and I have no plans on upgrading any other appliances in the near future). I could certainly see myself upgrading to an LG washer/dryer/dishwasher down the road. The “glass cook top” warning that came with the stove is jarring, if not upsetting. Seriously, it’s a glass cook top. The warning makes it sound like it’s an iPad that I’m going to drop down the stairs. Stay tuned, I’ll have an update in a few months.

Induction cooktop works very well as does the convection oven. My old range stopped working and due to COVID issues with the appliance industry, I only had two choices for an induction range when I went to Best Buy. Having only two choices limited the features on my new range that I now miss from old range ... internal food thermometer... ability to chose convection bake vs traditional bake ... and the oven door must be closed for broil on new range vs my old range. If COVID were not impacting my choices, I would have selected a different range (features and manufacturer)

The one star is not for the product per se, but it’s for the process of installation, or, rather, the lack of the process of installation. It’s not rocket science, but for your Best Buy warranty to be valid, it must be installed by Best Buy, or their licensed installers. The installer that they sent was a third-party. There’s all sorts of language in the literature and on the appliance about an anti-tip bracket, and the installer, when asked directly about it, stated (falsely) that it didn’t have one. They also, when directly asked, said there was no bracket to bridge the gap between the wall, and the back of the unit. (subsequent repair, crew personnel, and the instruction manual says otherwise) The original installer didn’t level the unit. All of these things need to happen for it to be properly installed, and therefore be covered by the extended warranty I purchased from Best Buy. I’m on my fourth appointment now, and have spent aggregate of about four hours on hold or in conversation with various Best Buy people, and have told them the same thing over and over again. The company has a serious problem communicating With their third-party installers, and with their repair crews. All of the subsequent Best Buy and geek squad employees sent on the second and third appointments were very pleasant, and understood the situation, but didn’t have the parts, even though the company has been made aware. People I speak with on the phone also, can you tell me if the parts are in. To say that I am unimpressed is a bit of an understatement. I am hopeful that they do some things here is to fix this or I’m just going to return the entire unit, even though the unit is quite serviceable. sigh. As for the unit, the oven works pretty well. It’s not quite as hot as our gas stove was, but the convection gets up to 550°, and cooks things fairly evenly. It also had an additional third rack, one more than our old gas stove. We wanted dials fairly badly. This unit has them, but they are not analog: they are stepped, so you have 9 steps per burner. The unit has four burners. If your pan is too small, especially on the front two burners, the burners won’t work. This freaked me out a little bit at first. So now one has to do a bit of pan management to cook on all burners. There is also a “warming zone“ at the right rear of the cooktop. As far as I can tell it’s a low level resistance coil heater stuck in the corner of the cooktop. It is so subtle so as to be almost useless. Actually, it is kind of useless. But it’s nice to have extra space on the cooktop to move stuff around on. Basically a glorified four burner stove. The door at the bottom is a little bit smaller than our last one, but it fits our cast-iron griddle (which actually bridge is fairly well on the two burners on the left side of the stove), and all of her sheet pans and cookie sheets fairly well. If you’re using an induction plate adapter, like we are for our aluminum moka pots, it takes a bit longer to make your coffee. Heating water or other things in either a cast-iron or properly alloyed cookware is actually faster. There’s a learning curve on how fast things Cook, and what your settings need to be. Also, your pan handles don’t get hot, even if you have boiling water in your tea kettle. That’s nice. Also, the cooktop itself doesn’t get terribly hot, and it’s ridiculously easy to clean, unless you are freaked out about any little smudge or fingerprint. Then it’s just like cleaning windows. You can get them mostly clean, but not entirely. The only other comment I have on this unit is that the kitchen timer alarm, and the notification when the oven has come to temperature are really annoying songs. They’re supposed to be cheerful, but they are incredibly grating. They are not changeable.

oven works as expected. the induction cooktop is the reason for the purchase, our view is mixed. negatives center on the extreme sensitivity/inflexibility of the pan/pot size the burners are designed to accommodate. Contrary to our expectation the induction circles only work when the pan/pot nearly perfectly matches, a small pot can only be used on a small burner, you cant use a small pot on a medium or large element. on the positives the precision and amount of heat that can be be delivered under (goldilocks) circumstances is amazing. do not buy if you arent prepared to bend to the machine's arbitrary rules.

I previously owned a Viking induction range which worked very well. Had to replace it do to a costly breakdown. The induction technology on this range greatly exceeded the Viking. The heating area of the viking would have a slim hot ring where as the LG is much thicker allowing for much more even cooking. I've worked in a kitchen for over a decade and I would say that induction is the way to go for best professional results paired with greatest safety in regards to someone accidentally turning a burner on. Love the light bars in front of each induction burner that glows to indicate a magnetic connection is good. The bar also gets wider indicating how hot you have the burner set. This way you don't even have to see where the burner is dialed to know the magnitude of the heat generated. The number of little touches really makes the oven worth the extra cost over the electric and gas varieties.

After owning this unit for a few months i must say it Works very well - very fast! !! Adjusts up or down in temp instantly just as gas. I like the design and astetics. I do wish the "burner" heat adjustments were infinite with a free rotating adjustment Nob as opposed to fixed 1 2 3 4ect position for temp. The Mobil app connective stuff is stupid for the fact that each time you want to use it you have to physically select on the stove before you can use it. You can them make one adjustment or use of it before you again must physically select you want to use it again. If it worked all the time without having to physically select it at the range unit it would be great. Oven is amazing and cooks everything perfectly and quickly. Would 100 percent recommend this unit and if I move from my house would surely take it with me. If you can't get gas (or maybe even if you can) this induction unit is for sure a way to go
