Small, thin DVD writer. Lightweight and works great.

For the price of this very inexpensive cd/DVD reader/writer it definitely comes in handy. It is very fast, efficient, and it's barely larger than a cd case so you could put it in your bag and forget that it's even there. I'm very satisfied with my purchase.

I think some Mac users were concerned that this wouldn't work for them. I have a new MacBook Pro Mojave laptop--it works perfectly with it. I'm downloading my CD collection to my new MacBook, and the only hiccup I've had was when a CD didn't eject. All I had to do was connect the dvd drive to my pc and use the eject button--no problem. No other issues. It doesn't overheat and it works very efficiently. You will need to find an adaptor for your Mac. I found one on Amazon with the USBC3 Thunderbolt port connection, and it has USB ports and a card reader attached to a small adaptor. I haven't tried using the card reader yet, but right now I'm mainly just focusing on getting my music added to iTunes. For Mac users, I don't see that you have to worry--it's perfect.

Great product to rip DVDs and CDs. It’s quick and does exactly what I need it to do.

I needed an external drive for my iMac since the internal drive in that machine conked out two years ago and I don't have an internal drive in my new Macbook Pro. The LG drive does everything that I need it to, is lightweight and portable. It's a great price and can be connected directly to your television (unlike the Apple SuperDrive). I'll buy again if I ever need another.

I bought this as a DVD drive for my laptop which lacks one. It is easy to operate, just plug into any usb port and it works. It's quiet and doesn't heat up with use. I have both a Macbook and HP laptop and this works flawlessly with both.

This was on sale and the price was about 40% less than the Apple's DVD drive. I have already ripped DVD and CD without any issues. I just have burned DVD, and it plays on regular DVD player. I say, this is a solid DVD drive for first months.

This external DVD drive has met all of my expectations thus far. The build quality appears to be excellent and I have not discovered any latent issues. Compared to other external drives I have used, it is fast and very quiet.

Very thin profile and operates very quietly and fast

Bought this to use with my new laptop. Haven’t burned any discs but it works well for playing them. It’s sleek and works smoothly. I like that it does not have a drawer for the disc, it feels more solid than those that have a drawer. Would recommend.

I needed a CD/DVD player for my MacBook Air to play my own collection of these. I liked the look of this as it I brushed aluminum. It got really solid reviews. It was on sale for about 50% off. I've used it watch DVDs and it has performed flawlessly in the 2 months I have had it.

Glad I decided on this drive. It is super fast at recording. Plays videos without skips. Stands up to a beating on my computer bag. lightweight and small is also nice for that. And the big feature many don't have which is useful is rewriting rewritable discs.

My new computer does not have a dvd drive so I bought this. So far it has worked perfectly for what I have uploaded. It is also easy to use once you have a video player program installed. I have been told that is an issue with windows 10.

Unfortunately, most gaming computer computers are not equipped with CD drive or DVD/DVD-RW. This unit is perfect in size and cost, I would strongly recommend this to a friend.

Plug and play. Sleek. Light. Works well and right out of box

I love sleek design- no tray means a slimmer box. works great, got it to work with my Surface Pro4 and it's ready to go once you plug it in. Only downside is that it needs to be on a steady, level surface. Playback will skip if your cat steps on it when it's on the bed.

It was on sale when I bought it, but even if it wasn't, this would still be a great buy. It does the job I needed it to, and it's slim and sleek. It's not heavy at all, so it fits perfectly with the laptop, mouse, hard drive, & other accessories I have.

Bought a cheaper version from Amazon and had to throw it away (recycle it! ... Wasn't worth donating to another sucker.) This LG drive has been perfect all of my CD capturing needs on Mac. Sure it's fine with other platforms. Quiet and consistent and takes up so little space on my desk that I hardly notice it's there.

The software that comes with it does not seem to want to play DVDs for me, so I've had to download other software in order to play them...otherwise - it works great! Slim, extremely lightweight, and small - makes it easy to transport and doesn't take up much space on my desk.

I use this with my Microsoft Surface tablet because it only requires one USB plug to operate which is a huge plus seeing how it only has one! So far with the limited use I've put it through it has performed very well with no issues
