    This is a really cool device that I use with my MacBook since there is not a built in Optical drive. I debated buying the Apple brand but this LG does the same thing for a more affordable price. It is a little bit noisy when its working but not too bad. The portability is nice, very small and connects using only a USB cable so you don't have to connect it to an outlet which is nice when you are on the go!

    I bought this drive after upgrading from a MacBook Pro to a MacBook Air, which has no optical drive. It came with instructions and a software DVD, but I haven't needed either of them so far. I was able to plug in the drive and watch a DVD immediately with no issues. I haven't had the need to burn a disc yet, but so far, this had been a simple-to-use addition, and the finish looks identical to that of my Mac, as if they came together.

    Perfect plug and play DVD player and CD writer. Mainly I just use it to transfer old discs to my computer but it was very easy to use.

    I find that it is a great price. It plays music and video cd's on any of the pc's in our house. Very compact and easily installed.

    This cd reader is very helpful if you want to view burned documents or even watch DVDs! However, the software for watching DVDs is old and I had to buy an updated DVD reading software from the Microsoft store. It definitely came in handy during an overnight hospital stay.
