Guess I am a bit old school and I still like to burn music cds from itunes. This lg burner is perfect for what I need and its compatible with my apple. Also best buy did a price match and I got it for even less than the sticker price.

It is streamlined, easy to operate with a USB cable and barely makes any noise. READS and WRITES DVDs. Also a great silver color match for your MacBook Pro.

I use it about once or twice a week and for the cost, I'm very happy. It serves its purpose and requires minimal installation, just insert USB and it's there. Very simple.

Could not get the software they provided on the disc to work so I used Media Player Classic Home Cinema to play a DVD. Also when you try to eject the device from your computer, it only ejects the disc, couldn't find a way to eject the DVD player itself so I just unplugged it. Arrived timely and so far plays good for the price.

Like that the disk gets pulled in and pushed out automatically when ejecting. No cheep manual slide in/ out tray to insert the disk to worry about breaking off.

The only thing I did not like is that I had to download an additional software (not the one that it comes with) to have it actually work on my compture.
