It is a good and easy to use drive. Have used it for quite some time now and it fully covers my needs whenever I need a dvd at my laptop.

I needed a new external disc drive when my old one was no longer supported by my computer's up-do-date software. I wasn't sure if this would be the right thing but it worked as soon as I plugged it in. Easy and good value.

I can sit at my computer and just push in a music CD and play music while I open my e-mails. I also tried putting in some software and had no problems. The small, slim size of this drive does not take up much space on my computer desk.

This was the most simple burner ever! You more or less just plug it in, drag what you want to burn onto a disc, put the disc in and burn. Very easy!

Seems like a good external CD/DVD drive for newer laptops which do not contain onboard CD/DVD drive. Information provided says it also supports BluRay format, but I have not used this. If you install the "default" device software supplied, this includes an LG Toolkit component, which will run fwupdate.exe every time you boot up, and you will see a popup window asking if you grant permission. The only way to get rid of this annoying "feature" is to de-install the LG Toolkit, which I did, and it does not seem to have caused any problems or loss of function so far. Be aware that, with Win 8.1, you will have to install software to support DVD video playback [not native to Win 8.1]. Free download of VLC Media Player has worked for my needs.

Purchased this drive to replace an Apple Super Drive that was acting erratically. Works perfectly, good speed, no delays when reading. Price was very competitive.

Great product. I can do all the things I used to do when I had a tower. I miss everything old, it worked longer and better.

Needed this to work on both a new MacBook Pro and a Lenova Thinkpad PC. It worked on adding some needed software to both. Seems portable enough. Wish it would have had some type of plastic protective shell/box to keep it safe in a laptop bag. I would have paid a few more dollars if it came with that!

Have only been using the unit for a few weeks but it seems to do the job. It made no sense to pay for the repair of my computer's internal drive when I couldn't even get an estimate of the cost. For a modest sum I saved the time, expense and trouble of a repair.

Works perfectly. Use it to make backups. I can’t remember what software I utilized, but I do recall it was speedy and did not throw any errors.

Great high quality optical media burner! Works with different types of media. Was trying to burn older PS1 games and those 20 year old consoles can be very sensitive to even the slightest burn errors. Other burners caused issues but this one is flawless!
