I bought this as a gift for my son and he loves it. He said it's very fast and works well!

purchased for use with a Mac Book Pro, this player was easy to use. Just plug into USB, insert DVD and it came up on my screen! Price was not a factor, ease of operation was, although it was half the price of others on the shelf. Operation on TV was just as simple, plug into HDMI, adjust mode to DVD and play!

I love the instructions, which show an illustration of the CD writer being plugged into the laptop. And that's pretty much the extent of the installation. The packaging includes the USB cable, and the cable also powers the unit. Instantly worked with Windows Media Player and iTunes. Also, it was surprisingly small and lightweight. So far, so good.

I wanted a low price player to plug into my MacAir so I could rip all the songs off hundreds of old CDs. This unit was completely plug and play - plugged it in to the USB, put in my first CD, I got a menu of choices and away it went. Over the course of several days, as I was doing other work, I got all the music onto iTunes - it was a breeze. A great value at the price point.

I bought two of these to be able to switch between my Mac Pro and my Surface Pro. They're not the fastest drives in the world, but considering they're USB 2.0 and bus-powered, that's not a surprise. They worked reliably well, and worked well when burning to both of them simultaneously from the same machine. Great value for the price!

Has worked great so far for cd and dvd play in the Windows 8.1 format used by my new thin tablet/pc combo. Haven't used yet to burn or write cd/dvds but no issue to date .. for a nice price, enables the medium that I still like to have the option for, with my new, thin components were the disk drives are no longer part of the hardware package.

I bought this player to download some software for my laptop. It was fast, easy to use, and came at a good price. I expect to use it for a long time with my laptops that have no built in drive.

This is a slick external DVD player. takes up very little space and does a good job with the discs. I know these are out-of-style anymore, but for somebody liker me who has a lot of apps and data still around on them it is the ideal, economic device for those occasions when I went to access it -- or play some old music or movies I still have on DVDs. Glad Best Buy has them in stock.

It was plug and play as advertised. It works on the Mac intuitively. Also it is pretty robust. It fell off a table with no signs of damage or loss of performance.

I bought the LG - 8x External Double-Layer DVD� RW/CD-RW SuperMulti Blade Drive because my Sleekbook has no internal DVD / CD drive for software installation.It was super easy to install and did exactly what I needed it for. Its small, compact and easily moved to my other computers if need be.

I originally bought a new dell Inspiron and it didn't have a DVD/CD RW in it so I couldn't download CDs or soft wear so I bout this at a low price of $39 and lemme tell ya, it was a GREAT purchase! It works great, looks great, and is pretty portable and it was the cheapest price out of anywhere I looked! If you are looking for a DVD/CD RW LOOK NO FURTHER!!

Since my new laptop does not have a built-in cd drive, I needed to buy this so that I can access programs, such as turbotax, directly. It is small and portable and noiseless and works beautifully. I have used it only in the read mode; I have yet to try to record anything on it. (I've only had my computer for less than a month!)

Its very slim and compact which makes it easy to store and carry with the PC. My PC is Windows 7 and the unit just plugged in and was functional in seconds. Easy to use with indicator light. Appears to be sturdy and has survived a couple of international flights so far.
