I’ve owned both the washer and drier for 3 years now and I must say, they’re phenomenal. I’ve never had a single issue with either of them; they’ve performed flawlessly and I expect they’ll continue to run flawlessly for years to come. For me the different settings come in handy. I love the steam option on the washer. It really really helps to get clothes extra clean. It got out stains in some shirts that I thought would be there for good, and my whites get super white without even having to add bleach. The Allergiene option is awesome at getting rid of the nasty smell in my gym clothes that I used to have to run vinegar through just to get that smell out. Same with towels that get forgotten about and get that mildew smell. No more using vinegar that ultimately isn’t good for fabrics, run on the Allergiene setting and you’re good to go. Need a last minute load washed quickly, put it on the quick load setting and you’ll have your clothes thoroughly washed and spun in 15 minutes. The ultra fast spin speed is awesome at spinning all the water out of your clothes. It works so great they honestly come out almost dry, barely damp at all. The drier is equally as awesome! It gets the clothes thoroughly dry extremely fast. In fact they’ll come out scorching hot if you just put it on the high temperature mode. Typically I try not get my fabrics that hot just because I try to minimize fading and premature wear, so I run the majority of my cycles on delicate which dries them on a low heat setting, and that alone does a great job of getting everything thoroughly dried in no time. In fact you can get a full load dry on low heat in under 30 minutes. The steam sanitary mode and antibacterial mode are great for throwing pillows in and getting them sanatized without having to run them through the washer. There’s also a freshen up mode that’ll steam and dampen up your clothes a bit and make them easier to iron. I use this setting on my wife’s thick linens when they get deep wrinkles in them that are hard to iron out once dry. And I love the rack that comes with it that easily fits inside. It’s truly multipurposful. If you want to dry things that need to be layed out flat and don’t want them tumbling around... well you can do that on the rack. I tend to wash mine and my kids shoes a lot because we’re outdoors a lot and do a lot of hiking (and that washer gets them looking almost new again) and you can just set them on the drier rack so you don’t have to hear them tumbling around making a bunch of racket like they would in any other drier. This truly is a phenomenal washer and drier set. I never thought I’d be so pleased to own a washer and drier, but these have become one of my favorite appliances in my home. They’re wonderful.

    Great machine

This machine is super quiet. I have a family of four with two small boys who get really dirty and this machine has enough capacity to only do a few loads a week. Our things come out smelling lovely. Machine looks great, too. Yay! Best Buy delivery guys were great and did a tricky install in a tight space.

Would not recommend buying this item nor any appliance at Best Buy. Loud and takes forever to dry a load of clothes. Disappiinting.

Owned the dryer now for 3 weeks and like the matching washer we have, this dryer meets all expectations. The sensor dry function in our 8 year old Samsung stopped working many years. So far this one works very well.

    Went from Samsung to LG

We sold our house that had the 4.5 year old matching Samsung front loaders. They cost us $600 each in 2010. I'm not overly impressed with going to a 'steam' washer. It's no better than the mid-level Samsung pair we came from, and they were years older. The pair clean and dry just fine, but I won't spend the extra money on the LG steam/sanitize function next time. I thought that ironing was going to be a thing of the past. Nope! I'll be going back to Samsung. Maybe I'll try their steam machines.

It is a quiet washer and also very efficient. We bought it 6 months ago and she just can't stop saying how much she loves it. We also bought the washer.

I would have given this five stars, but sometimes the permanent press cycle even on the very dry setting leaves clothes slightly damp. This is remedied by running them through another dry cycle

    terrible customer service

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

The dryer came with a defective leg leveler which is a very minor and cheap item. I called the customer service number and was told a technician would come to my house to fix it. When the technician did not come in the time frame specified I called the customer service again and was told the technician would contact me. I was never called. I called customer service 2 more times with the same outcome. I asked a customer service rep if they could follow-up with the technician to make sure he/she received the contact from them and was told they would not. I had to repair it myself. Perhaps there really was a technician dispatched for a repair but no evidence to this effect was ever forthcoming. I do not believe LG cares about the customer in anyway except for the sale of their products. I will never purchase another LG product. There are too many other companies that produce quality goods who care more about the customer satisfaction.

I bought this front loading dryer and have had it for two months now. It is awesome! I love the settings and how efficiently it dries my clothing. I've even been able to dry large blankets and comforters without an issue! It is also pretty quite while it's drying.

    Love the quiet dryer

I really like how quiet and efficient this dryer is. Only complaint so far is that if you stop the cycle early and find clothes are still wet, you have to run the cycle again to get them dry. You can't just run for the time that was left or the clothes don't dry.

    Bad Experience

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

Initially I was very pleased with this dryer. However, it began acting up less than two years after purchase and customer support from LG has been terrible. The dryer began making extremely loud rumbling noises and vibrating uncontrollably. It was unbearable to leave it running like that and sounded quite scary. I had two repair appointments with a local company and they were able to make the noise go away for about a month but they were unsure what the root cause was. After about a month, the problem would return. I then reached out to LG Support and they kindly gave me a complimentary repair appointment. Same thing happened, the problem went away for a month and then came back. The technician came out for yet another visit and here we are again. Even though I have had a total of 4 repair appointments that were ultimately unsuccessful, LG customer service insists I must have a technician visit yet again and submit a report in order for LG to make this right and issue a replacement. It’s absolutely ludicrous. I cannot afford to keep missing work to accommodate these repair appointments. It’s clear to me that my product is a lemon. I tried calling again the other day but due to the Coronavirus they were not accepting calls. Customer support is absolutely awful. I have purchased several other LG appliances in the past but I am seriously reconsidering my brand loyalty after this terrible experience.

I purchased both the washer and dryer as a set to replace my previous LG set of 7 years. The dryer failed for that set too. This one has been great and worked well until the drum decided to continue to run with no power and no way to stop the drum. This unit was just purchased in Oct 2014 so you can feel my pain on having to spend more money to dry my clothes. After review the service and part make it not worth the repair and LG will no longer be a product that I am interested in owning for washers or dryers.

    awful!!

I despise this dryer with a passion. It leaves clothes damp and they smell like wet dog. Even when choosing, for example, the highest drying level on permanent press, the clothes are still damp. Only way to get things dry is to choose the 30 min cycle where it runs no matter what. I am so mad I paid so much money for this. I have used cheaper, older, even public dryers and have never had such a bad experience. Don't buy!

Takes 4.5 hours to dry a load.

My dryer takes over 4 hours on high heat to dry 7-8 towels. It works, but painfully slow and the steam option does nothing but make the drying take longer. My other loads of clothes take just as long. The longest time I can set is 1:40 (1 hour 40 minutes). I have to run it 2x on that cycle and then another 30-45 minutes afterwards. I probably should have called for support, but since it was technically drying, I was putting up with it. Today I dried 8 towels in 1 hour in a whirlpool. I don't know if they even make this LG model still. I bought my LG in 2017.

We bought the matching washer and dryer. Washer works great and the dryer seems to get our clothes less wrinkly compared to our previous older dryer. We have only used the steam setting once. I typically turn off the energy saver setting or the clothes are usually still damp when the cycle is done.

    LG Maintains its Poor Quality

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

Avoid this unit. It lasts, at most, three years. The unit I purchased is used maybe 3-5 times per week, nearly always on a "normal" dry cycle. It is not, in other words, tasked with heavy-duty drying, at all. Yet still, three years is all it could muster. I was fooled into other LG appliances, as well, none of which work nearly as well as they should, given the premium price point. Refrigerator that burns itself out absent regular coil cleaning (or a firmware update that LG seems unable to schedule), washer that broke after 18 months of use, etc. Never, again.
