I love these earbuds. Outstanding sound and seamless integration with all my devices, specifically Google and LG smart home. If it's not Google in my home, it's probably LG. Quality, long battery life and super comfortable. My only issue is I thought I read somewhere you can charge the case and while wearing the earbuds they'll also wirelessly charge but that's not the case. Not a big deal but just realized it the other day. Sure would be handy.

This was my first time testing out LG TONE FREE T90Q earbuds and I must say that I was blown away. The audio, features, and design just simply left me speechless. The audio quality paired with the Meridian experience is just simply amazing. So, let’s go over the features of the new LG TONEFREE T90Q earbuds. UNBOXING AND SETUP: One thing I was not impressed with was the packaging. I understand that LG is trying to be ecofriendly with it, but it leaves much to be desired. But don’t let the packaging fool you, under the package is where you will find an amazing audio experience. Also included in the box you will find extra ear gels, USB C to AUX, UVnano Charging Case and USB Charging cable. The setup process for the T90Q was simple. I paired the T90Q with my Google Pixel 7 Pro without any issues. Simply open the case and the phone was immediately able to pickup the earbuds and help set them up and prompted to download LG Tone free app and I highly recommend that you download the app for an amazing audio experience. The application gives you a variety of options such the Equalizer settings, Control Ambient sound and ANC, TONE Free LAB, Touchpad settings, and much more. Features: Audio Experience: The quality of audio of these earbuds combined with Meridian Clear and Spatial sound truly makes listening to your favorite music a euphonious experience. The audio quality was crisp, clean, and clear with some punchy bass. For how small these earbuds are they really do pack a punch. To make your audio experience more enjoyable there are preset Equalizer settings set by Meridian such as Immersive, Natural, Bass Boost, Treble Boost, and 3D Sound Stage. My favorite out of all those are the Bass Boost and the 3D Sound Stage. The 3D Sound Stage gives your music that surround sound feel and the Bass Boost will put little sub woofers in your ears. The T90Q also supports Dolby Atmos Audio and along with Dolby Atmos audio you have Dolby Head Tracking and Virtual Sound, which works remarkably well. This feature will put you in the center of your musical experience, basically makes it seem like having your own private concert. The Dolby Head Tracking identifies the location of your audio and recalibrates as you move your head to always keep you in the center of your audio. I have tested out this feature on other earbuds as well, but they did not sound this good. Adaptive ANC – The adaptive ANC will only on these ear buds is not bad at all. The ANC only works well if you have the correct fitting and the ear gels pretty much seal the ear canal. There is a fit test that you can conduct within the application which pretty much plays a sound and the microphones on the outside of the earbuds try to pick up the audio. If the microphone does not pick up the audio then you have a good seal. I conducted the test and I had to change out to larger ear gels. There are also different modes for the ANC as well such as ambient sounds and conversation mode. Clear Voice Calling -No issues there either. The call clarity was perfect on both ends. Multi-point and Multi-connection – The ability to connect to multiple devices simultaneously. I was able to connect the earbuds to my TV and my phone and whichever I wanted to use I just played the audio on that device. The Case – The case was my personal favorite for these earbuds. Not only does the case charge the earbuds it also sanitizes them when they are in the case with UV-C light. The case also provides up to 27 hours of charging for the buds, the case supports wireless charging itself and can be used as a transmitter for an audio jack device. How cool is that. You can use your earbuds anywhere and pretty much with any device. Simply connect the provided USB-C to audio jack cable to any device that supports it such as in an airplane, slide the switch to the audio jack position on the case and you’re done. The case itself is very compact and easily able to fit in your pockets without awkward angles poking you. FIT and Usage – These ear buds with the provided ear gels are comfortable to ear for extended period. I was able to comfortably wear the earbuds for about 6 hours while working out and running errands. The ear buds do have touch controls and can be set to your personal preference. The buds are rated for IPX4 sweat and water resistance. Overall, as I had mentioned before this was my first time testing out LG earbuds and I love them. They sound great, fit great, compact and with tons of great features. I travel a lot so I love that I can take these with me anywhere even on an airplane and even use them there. I love these earbuds and if you are in the market would definitely recommend that you give these a shot.

LG - TONE Free T90Q What the LG does well, it does really really well. I love surround music (I know!!) and I’ve never heard it done better. Apple’s Spatial Surround is mesmerizing across a range of music types. Sound control, App features and overall sound is sublime, most of the time. But then there’s the touch controls (frustrating to me) and noise reduction (clumsy implementation) which is a distraction and misguided. Depending on your interests, the frustration vs. performance calculation will make these a keeper or keep you looking. I love the sound enough that I will keep them, and hope LG can correct some issues. Let’s discuss. SETUP: Instant Bluetooth (the latest 5.3 version*) connection. Both earbuds are playing music. Zero fuss. There is an App, and, on an iPhone 12, it enables a significant amount of control that became a neccessity for me, as I’ll explain below. [ BT 5.3 increases data transfer rate, capacity and range of the signal. It also adds the ability to connect 2 pairs of BT headphones to a single source.] The storage case is very compact, the smallest I’ve seen and it has its own set of unique features. The charging case adds approx 24 hours of charge, which isn’t so unique. But, the case offers UV-C light to sanitize earbuds when you store them. Just as impressive, LG’s charging case double as a Bluetooth transmitter. It includes an AUX to USB cable that connects a device with a headphone jack output to the case which now broadcasts to the T90Q earbuds. It is potentially VERY useful. TV audio to the LGs. (YOU could buy a generic adapter to broaden the flexibility further.) APP FEATURES: There is a set of 5 Equalizer settings, all of them distinctive and a few of them very useful. There is the ability to create 2 custom equalization curves and save them. There is a “fit” feature that seems to discern sound leakage around poor fitting earbuds and the App will suggest changing the ear-tips. The App allows the end user to switch between OFF, Noise Cancellation or Ambient Sound. There is also a switch to enable Dolby Atmos with Head Tracking. The TOUCH actions on each earbud can be modified, somewhat, in the App. Bluetooth 5.3: newest wireless broadcasting/receiving tech that increases data transfer rate and capacity while adding to the range of the signal. It also adds the ability to connect 2 pairs of BT headphones to a single source or play music to two speakers PERFORMANCE: Comfort was within reach by selecting an ear-tip that was large enough to fit. The hard shell body is familiar as it is a popular design, and the silicon tips are quite flexible so they allow for lengthy listening sessions. The weight of these is quite low. They always felt secure. The earbud touch controls were not my favorite. It took a while for me to figure out that the sensor switch was at the outer-most arc of the earbud. And, they’re not pressure sensitive although they make a faint switch noise when touched. I much preferred using the App for sound and operational control. I’ve spent too much time feeling for the sensors, or have I found them but my touch is not effective? How about a colorful dot so I have a fair chance? Or a more obvious sound? I really loved the SOUND QUALITY using some of the preset sound contours in the App. Sound is very compelling. When it’s good, it’s great. Natural was OK, but bass was over-emphasized. Further adjustments could be made with custom settings. I also spent extended time with IMMERSIVE, TREBLE BOOST or simply accentuating treble in the custom setting. That said, on my oldest recordings, the extra bass was enjoyable. Dolby Atmos/head tracking was spectacular on modern tracks from Apple’s Dolby Atmos curated playlists. The music did move around in the wide sound bubble, which I may not be able to get used to, Using ATMOS, even when the recording wasn’t processed for it, took the weird a bit too far. The constant movement of voices and instruments in my head had me questioning my sanity. I almost started talking back to them. I did not love the NOISE REDUCTION. Yes, it works, somewhat. However, switching ANC on resulted in a significant change in sound contour …. here comes that excessive bass again. I’ve rarely heard noise reduction settings change sound quality so obviously. It was not a good change. Sound isolation was decent on its own. The ANC circuit certainly reduced droning sound still more. But, the quality change was distracting and the trade off had me avoiding using the ANC. PHONE CALL QUALITY: I used my phone for days without problems. I asked callers to comment on the quality of calls and all felt my voice was clear, with no or minimal noise interference. SUMMARY: LG has done so much right in these earbuds. They sound wonderful. But it takes some effort to get to where you can sit back and enjoy. For me, tonal balance needs to be adjusted, but it was easy and effective. Tone-T90Qs are enjoyable. Every time I dropped into a piece of music, I didn’t want to leave. Once you tame the bass a bit the T90Qs are very accurate and they get deep. Not just potentially loud, but genuinely deep bass with authority. And voices are accurate, natural, defined and enjoyable. The feature set is unmatched. All connectivity is 2023 spec. Noise cancellation is effective, but tonal balance suffers when ANC is activated. Every feature is completely useful. Sanitizing! Broadcasting Bluetooth! A pair of custom equalizer settings. LG has a fit test feature. These are nice sounding earbuds that solve some problems, prevent some problems and create some problems. You need to try them out for yourself. I like them with caveats.

PROS: - Case and earbuds are small and highly portable. + The case is probably one of the smallest I’ve seen. Has a good almost rubber/plastic material. I dropped it on accident on some thin carpet with it open and it landed right on the hinge and survived. Latch is satisfying and magnetic. Earbuds also attach magnetically. - Good/great sound quality. + Found the preset EQ settings really change the profile a lot. You also have two custom profiles with a 5-band EQ. I used “natural”. Bass is better than most I’ve tried and very impactful without diminishing the mids/highs. Has good imaging where I can pull apart different parts of a song easily and locationally were very accurate which is rare for earbuds. They are not audiophile level nor do I expect them to be in sound accuracy. As there is very so mildly some processing that I’m hearing. I didn’t notice a difference in sound quality going from ANC, Off, or Ambient. Overall, very good listening experience that I think most people will be a fan of. - UV Cleaning is unique. + You can set it to be on every time you put the earbuds in the case or just when charging. Unsure how much of a difference this makes in ear health. It is in Beta but I noticed a decrease in battery life with it on. - Earbuds are very comfortable. + Gel tips are soft and non-irritating. Can easily wear for long periods. Easy to take in and out of ears. Low profile. And I never had to adjust them when working out or moving. - Onboard controls: + Despite being haptic they are very accurate and easy to press. Can set custom tunings for each ear and one, two, or three taps. Holding down changes it from user choice of adaptive ANC/Ambient, or Adaptive ANC, Ambient, off. - Usage modes. + My FAVORITE thing about these is you can use the included USB-C to 3.5mm cord to plug into a non-Bluetooth enabled device while still using the earbuds wireless. Perfect for meetings/desktop/older car listening. Simply switch to that mode and you are good to go. - Can use two devices at once. And quick switch to 5 devices total before needing to be re-paired. For example, can be connect to phone and tablet, while having streaming stick, laptop, and something else paired where all you need to do is go into that devices settings and click “pair”. But needs to be activated in the LG App first. - LG App. Very easy to install and navigate. Has a ton of features. However, need to sign your life away. In the App, in the Lab (beta features) it supports: UVNano always on, game mode, whispering mode (where you can take out an earbud and talk into it for better quality). Plug and wireless sound settings (high audio quality or low latency). MEDIOCRE: - Hear-Through + Is average, maybe a bit better. Still reduces overall sound, comes across as processed, and isn’t good enough that I’d trust it if I were listening for something, talking to someone, or going through a drive thru. - Battery Life + They claim 9 hours of battery life per bud, 18 hours with the case, for a total of 27 hours WIHTOUT ANC. In my testing with ANC I was getting a lot less than that. Probably around 5 – 6 hours. Add the UV light on each thing and I was getting a lot less than the 27 hour mark. But also didn’t have a lot of time to test it so take this with a grain of salt. Charge time also seemed to take longer than I would expect. But does support USB-C charging or wireless charging which I like. - IPX4 rating. Good enough for light rain and exercise. But not good enough for showers, hot tub, use by pools, etc. - Dolby Atmos/Head Tracking. + This is very neat and it works well. As you can clearly tell a widening of the sound stage and when you move your head it goes from one ear to the other well. However, I do notice a reduction in overall sound quality. Also, need to make sure you are watching/consuming something that is mastered for it. At which point it sounds better but still not as good as stock. But does add immersion. I personally classify this as a gimmicky feature as I think most people will turn it off. But it does work very well (similar to Apple’s variant of it). - Quick response: +When taking a single earbud out it pauses and resumes quickly. When you remove one earbud you can’t press the touch buttons as they are automatically disabled. Also, if you sleep with them in you can disable touch settings altogether in app. - Find my earbuds will make a chirping sound in the earbuds to locate them. While this says it is very loud (as it would be in the ears) it is not when outside of the ears and depending on how loud the ambient noise level is I’m not sure if it would be helpful in locating. - Voice/Call Quality: Is respectable and a bit above average. It sounds a bit compressed and like I am in a big room. But voice is clear to the other person. On my end people are easy to hear. I think it would be perfectly acceptable for phone calls and meetings. - Before going into Siri (As tested on iPhone 14 Pro Max) there was a bit of a delay compared to normal AirPods. Which tends to be usual. CONS: - Adaptive ANC is poor. + Does silence minor sounds. But in general reduces overall sound while changing the pitch. Not nearly on the same level as most other buds in similar price category. - Cost for overall performance (mainly ANC and Ambient) is high. CONCLUSION: These continue to be some of the most unique earbuds on the market with the USB-C to 3.5 mm connect and UVnano tech. They are a good option for calls and video calls. They do almost everything right except for ANC and Ambient mode which are kind of a big deal. Especially, at this price point as they are battling other earbuds that do that excellently. Making it so if you don’t care about ANC or Ambient then it is an easy recommendation. If you do, then you’ll need to look elsewhere. When compared to the previous generation (FP9) I do think it is an overall upgrade, but not $30 extra worth.

The Best Earbuds I've Ever Owned!

The short of it? These are the best sounding and most comfortable earbuds I’ve ever owned. These are feature packed earbuds well worth the cost. The LG T90Q come in a very unassuming box – so vastly unassuming I’m not sure the box exists in any way to sell the product. The box is a means to hold the product and belies the amazing technology within. Setting up is incredibly easy – I immediately paired to my Windows 11 desktop through the normal Bluetooth connection was instantly using it for music and in zoom calls. No issues at all and surprisingly clarity for both output and input. My coworkers preferred my voice from the T90Q earbuds than my normal meeting headset. I then paired with my main device, my Pixel 6 Pro. The instant pairing is fantastic – it’s paired in literal seconds after opening the case – long before the earbuds navigate the long trek from case to my ears. Here, paired with the LG TONE Free app, is really where you take advantage of its many features. The helps you make use of the LG x Meridian equalizer settings. Immersive, natural, bass boost, treble boost, 3D Sound Stage are the pre-defined defaults. They all sounded great, although I found myself using bass boost most often, through a variety of classic rock to modern indie rock and even on social media videos. 3D Sound Stage was interesting – it definitely gives you a feeling of being in a live venue. There is the option to use a custom equalizer are well. It was hard finding a preference because every mode made my music sound good. The Dolby Atmos with Head Tracking + Virtual Sound is a very interesting feature. It does indeed work as intended. As I turned my head the audio clearly moved around a central point – my default head position. It was very neat and something I’d like to explore more when watching movies and playing games, as I didn’t feel that listening to my Spotify playlists was really taking advantage of what this technology offered. The next features are the Noise Cancelling and Ambient Sound modes. Noise cancelling blocks the sound of the world around you very well. The ambient sound mode has two varieties: listening mode, where you can hear ambient sounds, and conversation mode, which aims to pick up voices talking to you while wearing your earbuds better. Listening mode is my default – I’m one of those weirdos that still like to hear external noises and this works well. It does a fantastic job of making me feel like I’m not wearing earbuds at all and that my music is just piped straight into my brain. I’m sure once I’m up in a noisy airplane or subway, I’ll love the noise cancelling feature more. The app has several other interesting features that are very much worth pointing out: first is the “test my best fit.” Gone are the days of wondering if you’re using the correct size eat fittings (of which the T90Q comes with three). It plays an audio clip and then listens for it, determining if you’re wearing the correct fittings and/or have them inserted well enough. It’s a short test, but helpful in confirming that, yes, I’m wearing the right fittings for optimal sound quality. Other features include “Multi-Point & Multi-Pairing” where you can connect to your phone and another device simultaneously, touchpad settings, where you can adjust the touch click operations (more on that later), a “Lab” where there are experimental features, a location feature to find lost earbuds by playing a loud chirping sound, voice alert settings, autoplay, and software updates. The app also contains a user manual, which is very helpful. Normally these apps feel more like a secondary thought to the actual product. I’m happy to say that the LG Tone Free app feels fully functional and well designed. If I’ve spent too much time talking about the app, it’s because I’m impressed with its features and functionality. Going back to the physical earbuds, they feel incredibly light and incredibly comfortable. I’ve happily kept them in for hours at a time, not gaining any discomfort along the way. They’re light enough that at times I forget I’m even still wearing them. In testing, I did my best hair metal head banging and they did not feel like coming loose once. Each earbud has a touch sensitive nub that allows for controls. By default, one tap on either the left or right earbud plays/pauses, two taps for volume up/down depending on the left or right earbud being touched, three to skip to the next track, and hold to swap between noise cancelling / ambient listening modes. These are all changeable. I previously came from earbuds that I lauded for having a physical button to click, and my assumption that I would not care for the touch sensitive pads. However, I found myself not minding the lack of a physical button at all – in fact, I may prefer the touch sensitive spots on these. The audio from these is top notch. I have zero complaints. Highs and lows comes through with a level of clarity that’s just superb. I’m no audiophile, but I’ve looked forward to wearing these earbuds just to hear my music through them. They just sound that good. I now look at all my other headphones and earbuds differently because I’m just comparing them to what I consider the superior sound on the LG Tone T90Qs. The case itself is small and effective. It holds the earbuds neatly in place, has an indicator light for total case battery. The case itself can be charged via USB-C or wirelessly. When connecting the case to be charged, it’ll also run a 10 minute cycle of UVNano LED, which helps eliminate “up to 99.9 of harmful germs from ear gel.” I can’t test that scientifically, but it’s nice to know its there. An absolutely understated feature of the case is the included 3.5mm AUX to USB-C cable. Via this, you can plug your case into any headphone jack and wirelessly transmit your music to your earbuds. This turns any audio source lacking Bluetooth into wireless audio. You do lose the equalizer features from the app, but this really does make these wireless earbuds universal. If it seems 100% positive, let me go onto some minor nitpicks. The look… is fine. I’m not wearing earbuds for attention, but they’re not going to win any awards for design. They’re black and they’re functional and they don’t look hideous. Same with the case. It’s a tiny puck that fits well into any pocket, but I’ve nearly also lost track of it because of its size and just how nondescript it is. Ultimately, I’m in love with these earbuds. I’ve owned many headsets and earbuds over the years, and I’ve never had a pair that I’m just downright excited about. They’ve all felt functional, but there to serve a purpose. These, however, I’m looking for excuses to use. They’re not just there to help me listen to my music wireless, they’re something I’m actively excited about using. In my opinion if you’re looking for a pair of earbuds, these are absolutely the ones the go with. From their fit to their features, the app to the case, this really feels high quality through and through and even now I’m using them while typing this review. They’re just that good!

I love the way music sounds in Dolby Atmos so I was really excited to see how these earbuds sounded. They do not disappoint. You can really hear the spatial effect that is intended with Atmos that you don't get with other earbuds. The sound is absolutely amazing. There are several settings that you can use to tune the sound to your liking, but I usually leave it on Immersive or 360 Sound Stage (I actually prefer the 360 Sound Stage setting for music even though it says its for sports and movies - it sounds a little less processed). The earbuds are already pretty bass heavy, so bass boost is a little too much, especially for the type of music I listen to. These settings make non-Atmos tracks sound immersive as well, just not to the same extent. I even love the way it makes podcasts sound. It makes it feel like I'm at a live broadcast. These also include Dolby Headtracking. This moves the sound around so that it appears that the sound is coming from the front while you move your head from side to side. While kind of cool, this feature is definitely not for me. I think the amount the sound moves from ear to ear is a little too dramatic. When I'm at a live show and I turn my head to the side, I can still hear sound from both ears, but it seems to all shift to one earbud when I turn my head a lot. I don't think it's realistic, and it's kind of distracting. So I don't think I will really use this feature very much. Other notes: - Active Noise Cancelling is good, especially for earbuds. I tested them out while vacuuming and using a juicer and it reduced most of the noise to a faint whir. - I also used these work calls, and didn't have any issues hearing or with others hearing me, so checks the box there as well. - The case is compact and light. Also has magnets that keep the earbuds secure when you open the case. Has a UV light feature to disinfect the earbuds which sounds great, although I've never heard of getting anything from my ears. The case also supports wireless charging, and acts as a transmitter for analog devices to the earbuds (I haven't tried this feature as I don't own any devices that this would work with, but it sounds cool). - The LG App is easy to use. You can easily switch between listening modes and control other features, and can activate tracking to find your earbuds. The app also has a cool feature which measures how the tips fit in your ear. - The earbuds look fine but are unremarkable. Plain black plastic with the same look as the airpods. Very typical look of many earbuds. - The touch controls are the best I've used. They have a little bump so you can ensure you're touching the right spot, and make a little click so that you know you touched it. With that being said, I do not care for touch controls and prefer a physical button. Three touches to change the song can be challenging, but LG makes it a little easier. All in all, these earbuds are one of a kind. If you are into spatial audio, especially Dolby Atmos tracks, these are a must have.

    Premium Wireless Earbuds

The LG Tone Free T90 Wireless Earbuds are a neat little package! They have a premium build and feel like quality. They synced with my phone instantly. By far the simplest and easiest Bluetooth setup ever for me. There is an app that is needed to enhance the full effects of the earbuds. After listening to music and audio podcast. The Audio comes out clear. The music has some bass to it based on which profile you use. The podcast I was listening to man was the audio clear. Almost like wearing some studio headphones. Yet, you are getting clear audio in a small package. The app lets you set up the earbuds. There is a selection called "test My Fit" which will help you select the right fitting for you. Now there are multiple Equalizer settings. You have Immersive, Natural, Bass Boost, Treble Boost, 3D Sound Stage, 2 Custom Modes, Virtual Head Tracking, and Virtual Sound! Now, that is a lot of modes. I preferred the Immersive and Bass Boost for music. For the audio podcast, I preferred natural mode. You can also use the earbuds to change the tracks and take calls. The touch activation registers well. One-click to pause your music. Once you learn where to click the earbuds. There is a Noise Canceling mode as well. I'm not a fan of this mode mainly because I don't have a noisy background. But it does work. One of the modes will block out other conversations as well. Now it will not be 100% but some suppression is better than none. It even has a "find my earbuds" in case you misplace them. It will play a chirp sound so the earbuds can be located. They claim when you put the earbuds back in the case, after 10 minutes it sterilizes them. Some may find that to be an add-on. Personally, I don't really care for that kind of crap. If I had to come up with one negative. It would be the app. Now every company wants you to download their app. Well maybe someone is limited on storage space? How do we not know our information is not being sold to third party companies? Not say it is but it's always a suspicion when we are dealing with companies. You can still use the earbuds without the app. You are just limited to all the extra features that it brings. Overall, this is the best pair of wireless earbuds I have ever used. All the features of the app upscales the earbuds. The build quality supersedes most that are out there. You can even change the setup and assign it to your liking. Maybe I'm just getting old but man that is a fantastic setting to have!

Inside the package you will receive the ear buds in a case, the charging cable (USB-C to USB-A), a USB-C to AUX cable, three sized ear tips and an owner’s manual. The case for the ear buds is nice, compact and easily fits in the palm of your hand. These ear buds are full of features and have great sound. They have Dolby Atmos and make the sound more rich and amazing. These are noise cancelling and I must say it works really well. A new feature in ear buds is UVnano, which these ear buds have and is a way of sanitizing your ear buds inside the case. This is a great feature, in my opinion. You can control the ear buds two ways. You can use the touch controls on the ear buds themselves. One tap will pause/play, two will turn the volume up (right side ear bud) or down (left side ear bud) and 3 taps to go to the next track. If you are like me and don’t like to control your ear buds this way, there is an app you can download called LG TONE Free. There is quite the array of things you can do here. You can control the equalizer, the ambient sound and ANC among other things. You connect the LG Tone Free ear buds by Bluetooth to your phone or other device. These are sweat and water resistant with a battery life of about 8 hours and another 20 hours worth of charge in the case. I found these ear buds comfortable and the sound quality spot on. My only disappointment was when I was on calls and people said I sounded a bit tinny, so the microphone could be a bit better. Considering I use these more for listening to music, I found that was a very minor problem for me.

Upon receiving the box and opening it up, at first I was surprised at the simplicity of what I was looking at? When you first open the plain cardboard box, you are presented with a small non-descript black puck. I had read up on it before I received it, so I was kind of expecting there to be more to it because of some of the features I had read about. However, they fit everything into what just looks like a normal small carrying case. I lifted it out of the box and opened the case, and my laptop displayed a pop up asking if I wanted to use my new headphones. Wait, what? Did I press a button? There was a button on the side. Maybe I pushed it thinking it opened the case? Apparently just opening the lid makes them discoverable. Anyway, I wasn’t really expecting they would be connecting so quickly, but I accepted the message and fired up some music. It sounded pretty good, a little base heavy for me. At this point, I was using them as they came, out of the box. I unintentionally brushed them with my hand trying to make sure they were seated well, and the music stopped. I went and did a quick study on the controls. (When listening to music) Tap once pause/resume Tap twice - left volume down, right volume up Tap thrice - next song Touch and Hold - Toggle Noise cancellation First impressions, they are pretty comfortable. I don’t typically love silicone earbuds. Comfort Wise, I prefer those that just sit in your ear, but whenI need noise cancellation, or I need them to be more secure in my ear, I will use the ones with silicone tips. As silicone earbuds go, these are comfortable enough. I wore them for a couple of hours. At the time, I didn’t even realize I had noise cancellation enabled. I must have turned it on accidentally when I was positioning them in my ears. Once I read how to toggle it, and I went to do what I thought would be turning it on, it was in actuality already turned on, and I turned it off. For the couple hours I had been wearing them, I had been in a room where a 3D printer was running. I am often in this room, so I don’t much think of the background noise that is constantly there, except for those times when I am in a meeting or a call, but the speaker I use is good enough to not broadcast that sound into my call. When I disabled the noise cancellation, I could suddenly hear the printer and the fan, and I realized I hadn’t even realized it was running for the previous couple of hours. I toggled noise cancellation on and off a few times, and it was very noticeable. Off, printer and fans; On, no printer or fans. Same is true of a small fridge that sits next to my desk. Even with no music playing, if you toggle the Active Noise Canceling on and off, the sound of the fridge when the compressor is running just disappears. I have only had a couple of noise canceling headphones before, nothing really like this though, and these work much much better than anything I have had before. I installed the app on my Android phone, and once I opened it, I saw there they were default set to a Bass mode, and since one of the first things I had noticed when I turned them on was it seemed they had a lot of Bass, more than I wanted, I switched to Natural mode. This sounds much more like what I am used to and what I like. There was also a feature called test my best fit. This apparently is a test to test to see how well the earbuds fit in your years. It plays a little sample of music. When I ran the test it said my left ear was good and my right ear needed adjustment. I adjusted the earbud and ran the test again, and both ears tested good. Not sure what it is looking for. Maybe noise leakage or something, but I do agree that the fit is good and maybe the right side was a little looser than the left side. The default silicone tips seemed to fit my ears, but there are others provided so you can swap them out. There was also a lab section with features that are maybe in Beta? One keeps the UV light in the case on as long as the battery is above 40% charge. That was something I didn’t mention yet, there is a UV light in the case to kill bacteria. Pretty cool feature. Another lab feature was a game mode to reduce latency during gaming. Another was letting you isolate one of the mics so you can hold it by your mouth and talk quietly into it rather than having it in your ear and having to talk loud enough to pick up your voice. And the last feature in this section was being able to choose between latency and audio quality when using plug & wireless. Plug and wireless is another pretty cool feature. Basically the case for the earbuds is a Bluetooth transmitter. So if you have a device that doesn’t even have bluetooth, you can connect the earbuds case to it, and the case itself provides the wireless connection. What a cool feature. There are a myriad of other features in the app, too many to cover here. Some key ones though, are find my earbuds, which will tell where your earbuds were last seen. The ability to read your messages from your phone for you. Automatically pausing for you if you take the earbuds out of your ears, etc. etc. etc. Another really cool one was head tracking. When you have this turned on and your head is facing forward, everything sounds normal, but if you turn your head, the sound will follow based on how your head is turned. So if you turn your head to the left, it is like you are turning your head away from the stage and the music will move to your right ear, and away from your left ear. While it is a cool feature, I am not sure it is something I will use much. It does seem to work well though. There is one con, and I really had to think about it for a minute to think of one. The case is round, and extremely svelte and well made. As a result there is no real differentiation on the case at all as to where the front is. When I go to open it, I find I keep turning it in my hands kind of looking for the front. There is the button on the left hand side, which is a clue, but even that doesn’t stand out that much. It is kind of like when the end of the scotch tape sticks to the roll and you can’t really find where the end is so you keep turning the roll of tape in your hand looking for it, because you know it is there, but you just can’t quite seem to see it. It would have been nice if there was something on it that you could feel, like an ever so slight lip on the top or an indentation of some kind on the front, or a flat side, that you could feel with your fingers and know that was where you needed to push to open it up. Conclusion. I have been using them daily for over a week now. They sound great. They are comfortable. The battery life seems to last forever. Every time you put them back in the case they get charged up again and disinfected. I have been using them several hours every day and I haven’t had to charge the case again since the first day I got them. I can confidently say, these are probably the best earbuds I have ever owned.

LG Shows the Bluetooth market who's Boss again!

I have been an LG Tone fan since the first LG Tone around-the-neck Bluetooth headset that set a precedence for the Bluetooth headset market early on. The original LG Tone was copied by many but duplicated by none! Since the early days and through the years I have had many different LG Tone headsets. To say I am excited about the new LG Tone Free T90Q Bluetooth headset is an understatement. This new LG headset is once again blazing trails with more features better sound quality and the first true wireless headset I have owned with multipoint pairing. The Lg Tone Free T90Qs have more features than any headset I have or have ever seen. Simply Amazing with the unbridled potential released by disabling absolute volume in developer options in Android settings and then turning on direct volume control (DVC) using PowerAmp Premium and I am simply blown away! Before I did this I was wanting more volume and now they are very loud and clear with full sound. This is not the Tone Free’s fault simply a Bluetooth limitation in Android that needs to be adjusted. They handle extra power very well without distorting. I am using them in immersive mode which has a very well-balanced sound-field. The Dolby Head Tracking+ Virtual Sound Mode is revolutionary and very interesting. I am still not sure what to think about since I like full volume in both ears continuously while listening to music. However, I do see how it could be very beneficial if using a VR headset or playing games which I have not tried yet. The touch controls work very well and are fully adjustable in the LG Tone Free app settings. It does not stop there either you connect the case to your PC with the included cable that plugs into USB and a headphone jack to play sound from your PC. Have you ever seen that feature before with a Bluetooth True Wireless headset? I have not and it just shows how LG went all out with this new Tone headset. They have quickly climbed their way to the top of my Bluetooth True Wireless arsenal of headsets. All I can say at this point is take your time dig in and learn how to use these to their full potential. It is well worth it to take the time to go through the app and the manual and learn how to use all of the features and settings of these Tone’s. They can truly revolutionize your music listening experience, your game-playing experience and your in-call voice quality all while doing it with the option of being paired to two phones at the same time. Or if you are like most people and have one phone you have the convenience being able to listen to music or watch videos on your PC all without worrying about missing a phone call. The Tone Free headset will automatically pause the sound from your PC or even a gaming system you may be using them with for the call then resume upon completion of your phone discussion. If you are thinking about investing in a set of the LG Tone Free T90Q’s quit thinking and just do it. I have many Bluetooth Headsets including True Wireless, behind the head around the neck and over the ear all from reputable brands. While you will never out do the sound quality of a good over-the-ear headset you can not beat the comfort, convenience and the features of the new LG Tone Free T-90Q True Wireless Headset!

NEW FAVORITE BUDS WITH KILLER FEATURES FOR TRAVEL

LG - TONE FREE T90Q TRUE WIRELESS IN-EAR EARBUDS - BLACK MODEL:T90Q NEW FAVORITE BUDS WITH KILLER FEATURES FOR TRAVEL The LG-T90Q EARBUDS are my new favorite earbuds. They perform very well at all levels, and features including Noise Cancelling, ATMOS and more. One feature that I’m stupidly excited about it the ability to connect the case to an external source and then the case acts as a transmitter to the earbuds. This will be perfect for traveling (eg plane videos) as well as wireless gaming. PROS - Small Case / Charger / Transmitter - Included USB C Cable for Charging - Included 3.5MM for connecting to external source - Supports 2 Headsets - Easy to use - Good full featured audio mixer CONS - Non So Far SETUP The instructions are OK, but not really needed, just open the case and they will try to pair with your phone automatically. From there you can follow the on screen prompts to install the app software, and step by step instructions. PERFORMANCE MUSIC My go to for audio testing is blues and rock music. The quality was great, with no issues or problems. I felt the bass and treble were very strong with virtually no distortion. The other modes in the app worked well. For my taste the setting of “strong treble” was best for me. CONFERENCE CALLS Everyone heard me perfectly clearly. Maybe not as good as my favorite smart glasses, but there were no complaints from others on the calls, and of course I could hear them just fine. GAMING Turning on Atmos and diving into some games, created a very immersive experience. It did a good job of placing sounds in the correct locations in space. Here, I still prefer my full size over the ear headset, but the LG-T90Q EARBUDS did a great job, especially if you are trying to travel light. SUMMARY I really like the LG-T90Q EARBUDS, I have given it full marks for value, features, and overall performance. I don’t mean to imply they are perfect, but they are the best I’ve tested at this price point (maybe 15 different tests over the past 5 years).

I don't think there are any other earbuds out there that offer all of the features these do - Meridian Tuned sound, Dolby Atmos with Head Tracking, UV Cleaning technology, Wireless charging case that dubs as a bluetooth transmitter so that you can use these even with non-bluetooth devices (like a plane's entertainment system), 2 Outer and 2 Inner mics to make sure the Adaptive Noise Cancellation and On-Call Audio is always perfect, and fully customizable touch controls. These things are fully loaded with every imaginable feature. Of course, none of that would matter if they didn't sound great, but they excel in this area as well. These are the best sounding in-ear earbuds I have ever used. The graphene drive performs as described delivering super clear and crisp sound and beautiful bass. The in-app equalizer allows you to fine-tune the sound to your preference based on what you're listening to and includes several presets, two optional custom equalizer settings, and the Dolby Atmos sound. The head tracking works exactly the way it should to give you the sense of directional sound and is great for certain situations. I love how easy it is in the app to customize these to work the way I want them to. I can set one, two, or three taps on each earbud to do whatever works best for me - next/previous, raise/lower volume, play/pause, call up my phone assistant, and more. And you can customize how the long press for Active Noise Cancellation works too since there are three modes for that. These are also very lightweight and fit great in my ear. No worries about them falling out if worn when running or working out, and very comfy for a long time. The case is also small and easily fits in the pocket and the fact that I can get over 24 hours of listening time using the case to recharge (and sanitize) the earbuds is awesome! The active noise cancellation works perfectly to block out unwanted sounds and I love that ambient mode can be set to allow general sounds through (such as cars and things if you're using while walking) or focused to just allow voices through (if you're wearing at work or on a plane). And it's easy to switch between the modes using the touch controls on the earbuds. These things look great, sound great, and have more features than any other earbuds. And most importantly, LG has excelled at making all these things work well. I'm now a huge LG Earbud fan and am so glad to have these T90Q's!!!

I've been using these earbuds for the past 10 months, and there's a lot to like about these earbuds. Because of that, I am going to start with the cons, so you leave remembering more of the pros since I would recommend these earbuds to most people. Cons: * Noise Cancelling--If you're trying to find the best noise cancelling earbuds for $150, steer clear of these. They do still make quite a noticeable difference (especially with engine noise), but they are pretty terrible at blocking out higher pitched noises such as other people's voices. I don't notice much of a difference in reduction of people's voices or banging/clattering when I turn on noise cancelling. I can still hear my music pretty well on the rattly school bus, but I do have to turn them up to around 70% volume. * Battery Indicator--The light for the case's battery indicatory does not make sense to me: LG, this is directed to you. 50% case battery can still fully charge both buds from 0-100%, so stop using this weird pattern that you use. Changing from green to yellow at 80% case battery does not make any sense whatsoever. *Not the most secure--While the earbuds are comfortable they do tend to fall out, at least in my ears. It's usually only when I'm facing upwards though, which thankfully isn't very often while I'm using them. I haven't really tried running with them yet since I don't like running with my phone, but I'm about to get a watch that I can download music to so I'll give an update soon. Pros: * Outstanding sound quality--I can tell the difference in sound quality between my previous pair of LG Tone Free FP5 earbuds, most likely due to the fact that these earbuds implement graphene drivers. They sound so great, the highs are bright and crisp, mids are great with clear voices, and bass manages to get in a good thump without overpowering everything else. * Dolby Atmos--While I haven't gotten the chance to use this feature much, during the times I have used it it worked pretty great. I was able to easily discern where sounds were coming from with my eyes closed, and the head tracking is very accurate. I like that if I decide to change where my screen is (such as if I'm viewing from my phone) a couple seconds later it will smoothly transition the head position to the new direction. * Multipoint--All I have to say about this is that it works flawlessly. When I'm listening to music on my phone and I need to watch a video on my PC it instantly switches over to it and pauses the music on my phone, then when I'm done it switches back to my phone and resumes my music. When I'm watching something on my PC and a call comes in on my phone, it automatically switches over & pauses the video, then when I'm done switches back and resumes the video. * Plug & Wireless--I especially love this feature. I am one of those people who don't like headphones, so it's difficult to find a good pair of wired earbuds for gaming. This feature solves that for me. I just plug the case into the USB port on my PC and it turns the earbuds into a great pair of wireless gaming earbuds. The best part is that there is no noticeable audio delay! Surround sound still works with this feature as well. * Comfortable fit--While these earbuds aren't quite as comfy as the FP5's, they are still some of the most comfortable earbuds I've worn (though this could be due to my ear shape; your mileage may vary). * Passthrough--The passthrough mode on these earbuds are very good. With the comfortable fit, sometimes I forget that they're still in my ears when it is enabled. I haven't tried airpods before, but I would assume that this pair of buds are up there with the airpods in terms of passthrough mode. * Battery Life--5 hours doesn't seem like a lot, and that just might be for me, but I have yet to run out of battery on these earbuds. I always either have noise cancelling or passthrough turned on, and even then I still never have ran out of charge before I put them back in the case. * UVNano--I don't feel like this feature is very necessary unless you share your earbuds or frequently work in dirty conditions, but otherwise it is a nice peace of mind knowing my earbuds are being disinfected every time I charge them. Overall, these are a great pair of earbuds for those who don't place noise cancelling as their top priority. It packs a lot of features and great audio, so I would definitely recommend them.

Compact Earbuds that pack a punch with Dolby Atmos

he LG - Tone Free T90Q True Wireless in Ear Earbuds are a delight for your audio senses. The compact design hides a spacious soundscape that will draw you into music, video and whatever else you listen to. The noise cancellation feature works extremely well by keeping out 99% of the environmental noise so you can really enjoy your media content uninterrupted. Just be sure to run through the true fit setup in the app. With one long tap of either ear bud, you can turn off the ANC Noise cancellation and allow conversations and other sounds to be heard in the background. Tap long again and turn on the ANC noise cancellation. The Tone Free Earbuds by LG come with a stylish charging case that includes nano technology to sanitize the ear tips every time they are placed in the case to keep them clean. Make sure to download the LG Tone Free App to setup the Earbuds successfully. I did find that they will pair with a PC or Mac much quicker than they do with an iPhone, however you can only use the LG Tone Free App with both iOS and Android mobile devices. There are 6 included sound styles to choose from. One of the highlights of these Earbuds is the Head Tracking Dolby Atmos. This by far is one of the coolest features and it really brings you into whatever you are listening or watching with a rich full sound envelope that will follow your head movements with pinpoint accuracy. The 3D Soundscape setting opens the sound really wide and sounds like 7.1 speaker system on steroids however it does so with an excess of reverb that is not pleasing. It sounds like sound is coming through a tin can. You be the judge. I for one didn't care for it. The low, mid and highs are fantastic and are sure to keep you entertained for many hours. Average play time between charges is 8-10 hours with minimal noise cancellation use. If you use the ANC Noise Cancelling Feature, the battery will drain much faster so keep that in mind. I highly recommend the LT Tone Free T90Q Earbuds for anyone looking for a fantastic alternative to the Apple EarPods. These support Dolby Atmos Head Tracking. A definite first for earbuds for sure :-)

Ok now I have had these earbuds long enough to make a good read on them. So to start i choose them after careful consideration and research into several others. Reasons I choose them are because they a good charge for listening, the bass and noice cacelling is great and they are able to be tracked if lost via the app. A super plus for me since I lost a small pair of earbuds before so that is a plus feature for me. And you dont have to use with both earbuds in ear. My drawback is they are not good for phone calls and they is one important thing I need them for. I have had several complaints from people on the other end of the call saying that could not hear me numerous times.

SUMMARY: ------------- I've really enjoyed these earbuds. They are small, comfortable with great sound quality. The app is intuitive and actually useful. To me, the feature that makes these earbuds stand out from other good-quality earbuds is the "Plug and Wireless Mode". This allows you to connect the charging case to any device that might NOT have bluetooth built-in (ex: audio in an airplane seat; or an old PC), and the sound will magically come from your earbuds! I absolutely recommend them! I removed 1 star for a few minor details I mention in the "Could be better" section below. DETAILS ----------- The good: - Small earbuds. They are smaller than my 2nd-gen Apple Earbuds (see attached picture). - Small charging case. Just a bit bigger than the charging case of my 2nd-gen Apple earbuds (see attached pic) - Great sound quality. You can even adjust the equalizer settings through the apps if you so desire. - "Multi-point and Multi-pairing" (Disabled by default - I suggest you enable it, which is done through the app). This allows your earbuds to pair with up to 5 devices to multiple devices, and be connected to 2 (of those 5) at a time. I was able to have them connected to my iPhone and to my computer at the same time. While listening to music from my iPhone, the moment I started playing music on my computer, the music from the iPhone got automatically paused and I started hearing the music from the computer. And when I resumed the music from my iPhone, the music from the computer automatically got paused and I heard the music from the iPhone. Nice! - Easy-to-use and intuitive app. The first time I paired the earbuds to my iPhone, a pop-up message appeared saying the earbuds uses an app giving me an option to download it. Thankfully, the app was NOT necessary to connect to my iPhone as I fully expected. However, the app does have nice options such as the ability to see how much charge is left on both the charger and the earbuds. You can also configure what tapping once, twice or three times on each earbud does (playing/pausing, next song, volume). And it allows you to enable "Multi-point and Multi-pairing" which is DISABLED BY DEFAULT. I suggest you enable it. - Documentation says that the charging case kills 99.9% of bacteria on the eargels of the earbuds in 10 minutes while charging! While I can't test this, it's nice to know the charging case uses UV light for this and it's just another perk that is great to have. Could be better: - I wish the "Multi-point and Multi-pairing" was enabled by default. I have other earbuds that connect to both, my phone and my computer seemlessly by default. I was expecting this to happen with these earbuds but I couldn't make it work. Until I finally realized I needed to enable this feature through the app. Not a big deal once you know there's a feature that needs to be enabled. - After the initial pairing with my computer, it wouldn't automatically connect to my earbuds. Now I think it was because I hadn't enabled the "Multi-point and Multi-pairing" feature through the app. However, what was more odd was that when I would click on the "Connect" option next to the "TONE-T90Q" in Bluetooth, instead of connecting, the "TONE-T90Q" simply disappeared. And it was not easy to make it appear. I tried opening the charging case and touching one of the earbuds as the documentation said so it's in pair mode. It eventually appeared but it took some time. And this happened to me twice. The good thing is that you can use the app to enter pair mode and this worked flawlessly. I haven't had issues since, so I wonder if it had to do with the "Multi-point and Multi-pairing" feature not being enabled.

It is hard to not make a direct comparison to competing ANC earphones by other big names (Apple, Bose, Sony, etc). Although I'm not a professional musician, I do enjoy multimedia, video games, etc, and I did not want to be nitpicky but I found myself letting this one go and turning to my other earphones. :::::::::: TLDR Pros : 1) Active Noise Canceling is definitely noticeable 2) Sounds stage is present 3) Atmost compliant and works 4) Medium to medium high tones are crisp 5) Connectivity was reliable at close range 6) App is just ok, but a pro because better compared to some other competitors. Cons 1) Active noise canceling quite clear not industry leading 2) Atmos works but slight delay/lag, with a shortened sound stage 3) Lows are not powerful, but acceptable. Not overwhelming either. Conclusion: I always want to measure a product against the price of entry. At it's current MSRP of $200 it's hard to recommend as there are better options in the market at this price tag. If the MSRP was more along $130, it would be alot easier to recommend as an introductory product to ANC earbuds world.

I was excited to get these headphones and use them due to their unique Dolby Atmos featuring, as well as the UV-C in case cleaning. The latter of which isn't specifically necessary, but in today's day in age, why not? Right? I tested these with my work cell, which is an iPhone 13, and also my personal, which is an S22 Ultra. The pairing process was simple enough on both, though, as someone who owns Buds2 Pros and Airpod2 pros, the LG's aren't as seamless of an integration and control as manufacturer specific devices, especially on Apple, but that's to be expected. Android was a pretty easy auto connect and download the app step by step process that it pushed you through. The app to download, LG Tone Free, is necessary to keep the buds up to date and to enhance controls, such as ANC switching, sound controls such as switching between Atmos head tracking and Meridian presets, etc. Now for the sound quality, I have to say, I wasn't blown away listening to music, I much preferred the clarity and bass reproduction on my other buds, though, that is by no means to say this isn't a worthy product if looking for an alternative brand or formfactor. Sound was crisp and clear, bass was modest, though the loudness wasn't as good as I'd hoped. I used these during calls and the ANC was decent as well, even when running with a heavy breeze, though I'd probably opt for the TF8's if workout buds is your main purpose for them, as those stay really well in your ear. The 8's are also higher IP rating for water resistance, these 90's are only IPx4. These aren't bad at staying in either, just not as solid for any harsh workout movements, and no one wants to have a bud fall out while in the zone. The Dolby Atmos featuring, sadly, is a little more of a marketing scheme to me, I notice some differnce in comparison to my other buds when watching movies/shows with Atmos, but it isn't some exponential and hugely noticeable difference. Head tracking is also, meh. One unique feature that these have that might appeal to a niché group, is the ability to connect the case to a 3.5mm out via USB-C, and listen via that method. You can also charge via USB-C and wireless, as is standard on most offerings in this price segment. All in all, these are a good set of buds, they stay in well, have average battery life compared to similarly priced sets, offer unique features, such as in case UV-C cleansing and Dolby Atmos, and overall seem well built.
