||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Overall, this is a very nice monitor. The colors in HDR are really amazing. The refresh rate means everything is very smooth in every game. I wasn't sure how I'd feel about the matte screen finish, but it doesn't bother me at all. My only two complaints are the screen is dim. Really dim. With the brightness set to maximum, it's dim. It's not a deal breaker, but kind of disappointing. My other issue is, when starting games, the monitor displays a message stating the settings need to be changed from 4k to 2k. I don't know if this is a bug, but it was also frustrating for a $1000 monitor. I found a solution on the internet that allowed me to remove the 4k settings, and not have that message come up again. Once I had removed the tv settings, it actually caused the screen to be slightly brighter. Overall, I like this monitor, but I will probably be returning it. It's hard to justify spending $1000 on this. I would certainly reconsider purchasing this again if the price drops.

Nice
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The resolution is not as great as I thought it would be, 1440p on 27" leaves pixels still visible from close distances. The brightness of SDR content even with energy saver off fluctuates based on what you're viewing. It seems to be an lg feature that keeps white things dimmer when they take up the whole screen. Because of this I thought normal work use would be annoying due to my IPS monitor being brighter but I got used to the flaw. Video playback is great, the colors really stand out viewing HDR content. The gaming though is unmatched. With HDR on there is no better monitor currently being sold for gaming. Except maybe the Asus version of this panel.

Outstanding
||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Outstanding for the price; returned in favor of an ultrawide (Alienware 34” QD-OLED). I had this monitor side by side with the Alienware and it held its own, despite not being QD-OLED. I was worried about brightness being a problem but it wasn’t at all. I play in a bright room with lots of ambient lighting at times, and this monitor is plenty bright. Beautiful colors, smooth refresh, excellent HDR, and sufficient brightness. This is an outstanding 1440p OLED. I also liked the remote control it came with, despite others’ criticism of it.

A joy to use with some annoyances
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Enjoy my wall of text. I want to grab the attention of those who are interested in OLED, but don't know much about them. I replaced my Asus PG279QM with this monitor and have an Alienware AW2721DW for my 2nd monitor. I have only owned TN and IPS panels before owning this monitor. My first impression after turning it on and looking at my Windows background was my jaw dropping at the contrast and colors. I've never seen a screen without the nasty IPS glow or greyish tint to everything from lack of contrast. Playing MW2 was another amazement as I've never seen the game look that good. The picture quality on this monitor is so good. Motion clarity is a bit better than IPS, but don't expect strobing performance. I did some slow motion video comparing the OLED to my Alienware monitor and the OLED definitely has less input lag as the objects on screen move first on the OLED. Legibility of text and such while whipping a window around is also noticeably better on the OLED. I would say it is a noticeable improvement in clarity, just temper your expectations. The more I used the monitor I started to notice some annoying things about it that you don't hear much about: -VRR Flickering. I use GSync on my main monitor and lock my framerate to 237 to always stay within the range. I started to notice that I would get flickering in dark areas of the screen. I started researching it and it seems to be a gamma issue with OLED and VA. Any sudden changes in frame times (stuttering) will result in this problem. If you have a poorly optimized pc or you're playing a poorly optimized game this will drive you nuts. You might as well turn GSync off if you notice flickering and stutters in game. -Screen coating. I'm not talking about the matte vs gloss debate, I think the matte looks fine. I've since also grabbed a C2 tv and honestly I don't know which coating I prefer. The thickness of the matte coating is a bit annoying to look at on white screens. It's about as bad as my PG279QM was. It has this grainy smeary look that may put off a lot of people. It isn't noticeable in games or most of anything else that isn't bright white. -Grey Uniformity. On near dark screens you will see this strange pattern and it is simply the OLED panel having different shades of grey depending on the pixels. On full screen grey it almost looks like a cloth pattern of grey, and it is a bit distracting to look at when scrolling webpages that aren't fully black or another color. You can get around this by trying to get rid of dark grey backgrounds. This is just a thing with OLED. -Brightness. Personally I think the brightness is fine, but I am used to dim displays. I will say that if you use an IPS or VA panel and you're over 40% brightness, you may find this monitor too dim. 100% on this OLED is near 40-45% on my PG279QM. -Text Clarity. It isn't like QD-OLED where you get color fringing on text edges, but you get this slight doubling effect that makes text a bit blurry. Honestly it isn't that noticeable until I start comparing to my other monitor. I don't have perfect vision and I rarely pick up on it with normal daily use browsing the internet, so don't let it completely put you off on buying the monitor. I'm used to it. TLDR: It is an outstanding gaming monitor, but you need to be aware of the annoyances that come with an OLED screen. The picture quality in games is so good to me that I am able to deal with everything that I have listed. I would not go back to an IPS screen after using this thing. Remember to be smart with this screen as all current OLED screens will eventually have burn-in. It's up to you on how soon this becomes an issue. Just take advice from those who have OLED tvs and use them daily. Hide the taskbar, have a fully black windows background, have no visible icons on the desktop, turn on screen shift in the OSD menu, etc.

Best of the best
||Posted . Owned for 5 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have had a lot of gaming monitors over the years. This is by far the clearest and smoothest looking monitor I have ever owned. The color accuracy is just about perfect out of the box and the 240hz refresh rate is a bonus with those first person shooter games. I would recommend this monitor to anyone looking for a high end one. If your worried about burn in from the OLED just get the extended warranty to be safe which is what I did.

Great Panel but has some issues
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I really like the monitor! It’s got the usual benefits of OLED (great colors, really deep blacks, really fast response time, basically no ghosting, etc) but I do have some gripes with it. 1) External power brick. This is more of a personal preference but I’d really prefer an internal one 2) Brightness. This is actually not a huge deal for me and it gets plenty bright for my use cases, but it’s undeniably dimmer if you’re used to 400 nit monitors 3) Wonky brightness fluctuation. This one is actually by far the most annoying to me. When bright elements pop up on screen quickly, the panel has a tendency to dim like crazy and it takes a while for it to get back to regular brightness (like half or even a full second). Kind of a specific example, but in one of the games I play, a large “Go!” text appears and then zooms in towards the screen. Because the text is in white, the whole screen dims like crazy and it takes a while for it to go back up. I understand this is to save the panel and extend its lifespan (and it’s generally fine for when you’re reading something with a white background) but it’s incredibly annoying. No setting in the OSD seems to change it either From what I hear, the Asus version that uses the same panel is a better value so I’d go for that one instead. However, I don’t regret picking up this monitor and OLED really does make a noticeable difference to the content you view on your monitor. It’s extremely expensive, but considering OLED TVs are like $2000+, I think I’d generally take this over one of those

Beautiful Display after Firmware update
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Make sure you perform firmware/software update before making a final decision. I bought this and returned it because of the blue tint to the screen and I was not pleased with HDR performance. I ended up going back after seeing someone with the same monitor and they explained the update they performed. What a big difference! I love that the monitor comes with all the required cables to connect your PC, Xbox, PS5 as well as a soundbar. You can use the LG software as long as its connected to a USB cable and control the features from your desktop. The design of this monitor is sleek and gorgeous. I love that you can change the RGB lighting. It is not bright but you can have it backlit in a dark room to provide some lighting. The OSD is great if you download the software. Not so great that you have to use the included remote. Now the control is simple. But what if you lose it? Then you can't control the OSD. Menu is simple make sure you disable the energy saver or auto dimming as this makes the screen dim. Display is 2k. I was coming from a 4k IPS monitor and thought I would be missing out. But this is OLED and WOW! Such amazing technology! I really now prefer running 2k at max FPS then my 4k IPS. For gaming this is an awesome monitor! Colors really pop and the response time is incredible! I love watching content on this and gaming! I did purchase this on sale so glad I did save 150 on this monitor! Some people did complain that the screen is too dim . It has good brightness in SDR and HDR. Not sure how bright others like to have their monitor. For me it is easier on the eyes not being so bright.

Incredible Gaming Monitor
||Posted . Owned for 9 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Incredible for gaming. It offers a high 240Hz refresh rate with FreeSync VRR support and G-SYNC compatibility to reduce screen tearing. It also has low input lag for a responsive feel, and motion looks incredible. Pros: Near-infinite contrast ratio. 240Hz refresh rate with VRR support. HDMI 2.1 bandwidth for console gaming. Fast response time. Cons: Ghosting with low-frame-rate signals. Matte coating introduces haziness.

For Gaming is Great but for Design Work is Not
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I give it 4 stars because for gaming is really good but for working on web design/graphic design not so good, specially with the brightness since is a little bit dark to do so and the text is kinda blurry in some spaces, I am a web designer and I want it to have a good monitor for work and gaming and I thought this was going to be but unfortunately it wasn't :/ but if your only purpose is to game, this is one of the best monitor for you to do so!

Just get it.
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This monitor is amazing. If you are interested in trying one of the best OLED monitors out there, get this. Also get the Geek Squad extened warranty because it says it will cover burn-in for 4 years! Good peace of mind if you ask me. Sure it's a little dimmer than usual, but that's OLED for ya. It's perfectly bright enough using HDR on windows 11. I've tried this and the aw3423dw, this monitor is better.

Worth every penny
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Top tier, high fps motion clarity and beautiful HDR. Only complaints are (1) Brightness: peaks less than 250 nits. not ideal in a bright room, but usable by all means. A non issue at night or in a dark room, it’s plenty bright. (2) Text clarity due to the nature of OLED tech. you can watch vids on YT to see what I’m talking about, but text is a little blurry. Not ideal for desktop use due to that and burn in risk. t his monitor if for you if you meet the criteria: first, you can afford to drop this much on a monitor. this thing is expensive. second, you have a PC that can support 1440p 240fps. I recently upgraded to a setup with a 7900 xtx, and the sole reason I went with this monitor is I wanted true 1440p 240hz at a 0.03ms true response time that could display my PC to it’s highest potential. There are good mid-range LED monitors at 1440p 240hz, but the suffer with response time and overshoot. At 240hz, each pixel is refreshing its image every 0.004s. If your high-end LED monitor has even 1ms response time + input latency, you are not getting the full potential of 240 fps for competitive gaming. You really need that near instant response time to get crisp, clear motion clarity that unfortunately only OLED tech can offer at this time. This also might be for you if you play games with beautiful graphics instead of fps games. If you can afford it, it’s a game changer. A slightly better option is the asus version with the same panel that gets 25% brighter. It’ll run you an extra $200 though.

Amazing Picture
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was heavily debating between this and the 42 inch LG C2. Ended up getting this for three reason: DisplayPort, 1440p (my PC is designed for 1440p), and 240hz. A 27 inch panel with 1440p resolution is my the sweet spot. The blacks are very inky and the HDR is great. The biggests cons to this product is the matte finaih and that OLEDs aren’t meant to be used in bright rooms. Highly recommend it. You wont see other monitors/TVs the same ever again.

One of the best monitors I have seen
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I really enjoy this monitor. It is exactly what I was looking for. Some reviewers dislike the matt screen and the dimness of the monitor. Those are preferences and I prefer a matte screen over glossy and the dimness of the monitor doesn't bother me at all. I can't help but wonder if people are comparing it to an OLED TV and would have preferred a 27" OLED TV over a monitor? The monitor is great, if you are looking for a 27" form factor with OLED and HDMI 2.1 this is a great solution.

OLED Is The Way To Go
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought this monitor on a whim expecting to return it after a few days. I can never go back. Games, shows and movies look night and day different from an IPS monitor for the better. The matte coating on the monitor does make it look dirty when viewing bright images (like now, as I write this review with Best Buy's white background glaring at me). I don't really notice it except in extreme situations like previously described, so it doesn't bother me. I did consider the ASUS OLED because it is a brighter monitor, but this LG is plenty bright even with my curtain open with the afternoon sun shining through. Your mileage may vary though. One of the points that made me choose this monitor is HDMI 2.1 support for consoles, and playing my PS5 and XBOX on it is a great experience, but you are going to want a hefty PC to take full advantage of the 240hz refresh rate. A remote to change inputs and settings is included, and I really wish all monitors included one now. I never realized how annoying it is to have to reach around and awkwardly feel out the buttons to change settings was until I used this remote. Adds to quality of life and I never want to go back. For my uses, this monitor is perfect, and with proper care I'm sure I'll be able to make it last a long time. If you're looking for an OLED, you should heavily consider this monitor. It's one of the best on the market right now.

Best Monitor I have had
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I got this monitor since it was on sale and i was specifically looking st monitors with this panel. I had bought the Asus model on Newegg but it came with a nice line of dead blue pixels down the right side. This monitor is amazing i upgraded from a 1080p 240hz TN panel to this. I didnt lose out on any Hz and gaing OLED and upped resoultion to 2k. It looks absolutly gorgeous no matter what you are doing. Would highly reccomend.

Awesome OLED Display
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Thid is my first time purchasing an OLED display monitor, im very happy to day the least. The visuals are a huge step up from my old IPS 1080p monitor. It pairs really well with my current gaming computer making all 1440p games looking amazing. Not to mention HDR looks great once calibrated, it is pricey but id say it was well worth the investment.

Decent but Lacking
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Pros: oled so deep blacks, colors popped, excellent motion clarity at 240hz, a really good picture overall in my opinion. Cons: matte coating was obvious in bright scenes, audio passthrough was abysmal even with the optical out, overshoot/ghosting on low hz games like consoles.

Amazing contract with true black.
|Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. If you want perfect blacks with an amazing refresh rate then this is for you. I wanted something larger than 27 inches and less than 45. Also the brightness can dim a bit much when too much white is being shown. If LG could make a 32 inch and somehow brighten it up a bit then it would be perfect for me. However it is an absoutly amazing monitor if you are okay with 27 inches and use it in darker situations.
