These have no better sound than my Steel Series Pro Wireless. You need multiple hdmi’s plugged into this base which makes it hard to put anywhere since hdmi is much thicker than USB-C. It doesnt atuo detect what device is connect very well. My current headset switches flawless. If your a casual gamer there is no need for these.

Best Buy is absolutely ridiculous. Stop displaying false delivery date promises if you can’t fulfill that. I ordered this just because it said I’d get it in 3 days as opposed to store pickup in 5 days obviously I wanted it quicker. Now delivery and shipping is delayed and it says I won’t get it for another 2 weeks. Will never get money from me again.

Inferior product and tech REQUIRES an additiinal HDMI cable that is not provided. The headset STILL has a removable cushion that pops off with being super-glued. This product will always be trash, no matter how much they increase the price, or number of cables needed to use it. DON'T PURCHASE.

I had always heard good things about Astro headsets. I had many close friends swear by them as being the only good headset for competitive play. I never gave them a try until now. The A50X sound incredible, the mic is also just as incredible. The quality from the Mic is very surprising. You wouldn't expect it to be capable of much given it's small size, but it punches well above it's weight class. I wouldn't put it exactly on par with my dedicated USB or XLR Mic's but for what it is, it is beyond adequate. The audio quality on these are just incredible. I normally use a dedicated USB Mic and a pair of Headphones with a Amp/DAC combo and they've always served me well for the bevy of games that I play. From RTS, FPS, RPG etc, they've always more than delivered than I could ever ask. The Astro's however, given they way they're designed and that is a focus on Gaming, they do a lot better than these headphones. As an FPS player and one of them that I play a lot of is Escape from Tarkov. That game relies so significantly on audio queues and sound positioning to the point that if your headphones/headset is of low quality, it makes that much of a difference. I wasn't expecting too much from these but boy was I surprised. I've so far found it much easier to pinpoint where gunfire is coming from, where footsteps are coming from, or even more audibly hearing in-game comms. I've found myself having a much easier time finding opponents in game and being able to be proactive rather than reactive with firefights. I really wasn't expecting such a huge difference but it's there. I've not even gone in and adjusted any of the tuning from the app or from GHub, everything is still at defaults. I find the default strikes a great balance. As for fit, I've got a rather large melon of a noggin and it is extended nearly as far as it goes, so if you have a larger head, these might be a bit of a tight fit for you. Pressure on the ears is good. I didn't find them getting too uncomfortable during long sessions. My only quirk here is that I have and will always prefer my over ear headphones/headsets to be of the kind where the earcup sits around the ear, not on top. I feel that plays such a significant role in creating a depth and field for where the sound goes. I just find that the earcup resting against the head versus on top of the ears contributed to much better listening but also more so important comfortable experience. The Headband I'm not crazy about. If you have a wider head, this is going to pose a problem. You can order a replacement for it, but I feel it's not going to have much longevity, time will tell of course. The way they fold however make them fantastic to wear around your neck and are very comfortable when doing so. The build quality I feel is good, not exceptional by any means. I've used a multitude of headphones and headsets over the years and I've had many cheaper ones that felt better constructed. For the price, this shouldn't be the case for these. Astro's to me have always had that feel like they're the Bentley of headsets and every other brand out there was just a cheap imitation, but I don't feel that the case here. The Amp/Dock is really great. I like being able to have my PS5 and PC hooked up at the same time and just pressing a single button to switch. There's of course a couple places for improvement. If there's nothing in a particular input, you should be able to just press once to change the other detected input signal instead of cycling through them all. The Bluetooth implementation is also a major point of improvement. The Bluetooth radio is inside the base station. If you start walking away, you will start losing signal quickly. I was maybe 15 feet away when it started to cut out. My headset I use for work, I can get almost 50 feet away with walls in-between before it completely cuts out. It's really disappointing that I can't get far away and I lose connection. Something I didn't encounter, but some others have is the HDMI input and output not working with some Monitors or TV's. I've not had any problems with this connected from my PS5 into my Receiver that supports HDMI 2.1. Everything that works with the PS5 directly connected to my Sony OLED works exactly the same. ALLM, 4k120, VRR, Tone Mapping, it all works perfectly. I've also not seen any perceptible input lag with introducing the Astro Dock. Overall, this is a fantastic headset. I don't however think personally, the price is justified. Build quality certainly can use some attention. Integrating the Bluetooth into the actual headset would also be a welcome addition. If you have the money to burn and you want one of the best sounding headsets with one of the very best built-in Mic's around, you need not look further than the A50X.

    Great Gaming Headset

I wanted a great pair of headphones to cap off a new home gaming set up I finished. Right now, it's just a PC, but I have plans to expand it to include a PS5 as well. I started looking for good gaming headphones, so when the option to pick up the Logitech Astro A50 X's came up, I jumped at the chance. The main reason I was keen on these is due to the dock that comes with the headphones. It allows multiple connections, so you can connect multiple gaming set ups, like a Xbox or PS5, and then run a single HDMI out to your TV or monitor. The PC connection is also available, and it uses a single USB-C cord that splits in to a USB-C end for power, and a USB-A end for connecting to a PC. I have a USB Hub for all my peripherals to connect with, so plugging in the cord was a simple plug-n-play experience. The headphones also offer the option of a Bluetooth connection, which I plan to test out later with my iOS devices. But enough about that, let me dig into some of the cool features of this thing and why they've become my go-to headset to use at my desk, not just for gaming, but video calls and anything else that requires headphones and a mic. As far as controls on the headphones, there's your basic power toggle, a Bluetooth button, source switch, and volume rocker. There's also a USB-C port on the bottom of the right-hand cup. Like I said, the dock has support for multiple connections. You can wire up your Xbox or PS's HDMI line to the dock and then use another HDMI 2.1 cable to connect the dock to your screen. It's worth noting that you will need to supply your own HDMI cables, the A50 X's don't come with any HDMI cables in the box. The dock also serves as the charging cradle for the headphones, they neatly fit and connect right away. There's 4 white LEDs on the front of the dock that indicate level of charge, as well as smaller screens that indicate what connection you're using. In my case, it says PC. One last note on the dock, Logitech states that the dock supports HDMI 2.1, 4K with 120 Hz rate with 24 bit audio. This is great, and you'll also need to ensure whatever device or monitor you're using also supports those specs. I'm looking forward to hooking up my new PS5 to this device to test that out. The headphones themselves are also fairly large, but not over-sized. They comfortably fit on my head and I've been able to wear them for several hours playing without feeling any kind of strain on my head or ears that I've experienced with other over-the-ear headphones. In terms of sound quality, these things are very impressive. They support Dolby Atmos audio, which makes my gaming experience more immersive, and Logitech's Pro-G Graphene Drivers deliver crystal clear sound without any kind of lag or delay. It's worth noting that these do not appear to offer any kind of noise cancellation, or at least, not that I've uncovered in my testing. The cups do a well enough job of blocking outside sound in my case, but considering the A50 X's price point, I would've loved to see them include noise cancelling so you can achieve full immersion into the game I'm playing. The cups on the headphones are also removable, held on with magnets, which is nice because it makes them easier to clean off, if needed. Something else of note on the cups is they're made with a kind of fabric that I found to be comfortable, more so than leather or any other kind of fabric. The headband also features this same kind of padding, which is awesome. The A50 X's also feature a rotating boom mic that offers excellent audio quality. I personally don't do a lot of multiplayer online gaming because that's not my kind of experience. I have used the mic for several work calls since I also work from home, and people have asked what kind of mic I have because the quality is crystal clear on their end. The boom mic rotates up and stays out of my way gaming mostly, but it's nice to know that Logitech didn't skimp on the quality for the mic. Finally, the A50 X's advertise a 24 hour battery life. As a dad with a family and full time job, I haven't put these through any more than a 2 ~ 3 hour timespan. I will say these never skipped a beat, and even after that length of time, all 4 LEDs were still lit, so I have no reason to believe that these wouldn't deliver longer battery life for someone who really needed to push them that far. So why only 4 stars? Honestly, my biggest gripe with these was the lack of noise cancellation. Considering the premium features Logitech included with the A50 X's, this feels like an odd oversight. The only thing I can think of is that Logitech prioritized the battery life and other sound quality features and felt that noise cancelling wasn't needed. In my experience it's not "needed" but it would certainly be a nice to have option.

I've done a lot of reviews for different gaming headsets over the last couple of years. This might be my favorite. To be honest, when I took it out of the box it was a little on the overwhelming side. You have the headset, the docking station, a USB-C to USB-A cable, a USB-C to USB_A combo cable, and the power adaptors. I was used to USB dongle and a power source...this was a little different. The printed instruction are not very detailed but there is a QR code to scan which is super helpful. The only issue with the QR code is that is says the box includes a HDMI cord...it does not. It's not listed on the box either. You will in fact need 2 HDMI cord to properly use the these. It did recommend the newer HDMI cables I think it said HDMI-2.1 but I'm using older HDMI cables and have had no issues. Once you figure out all the cords (I'm set up on a PS5), its pretty much plug and play. You charge then and you are good to go after selecting which device you are using...PC, XBOX, and PS5 are the options. The docking station works and it secure. It could probably be a little more ergonomic as to getting the headset to dock without having to fidget with it, but other than that it works well. The headset them selves are pretty good. The ear pads are soft and comfortable...but they are a little on the small side but I haven't had any issues yet. The headset is adjustable and it stays in place very well...I've had then for about 3 weeks and I haven't had to readjust a single time. The microphone has good length and my buddies haven't complained about feedback a single time. That was a probably with another headset I tested...the sound was great but the mic was not so much...with the ASTRO A50X...that is not an issue. I can hear clearly and directionally for COD players that's important. My teammates can hear me clearly as well. To mute you just flip the mic up...it's easier than trying to find a button while you are playing. For an example of the battery life...I played about 7 hours over the course of 3 days...the charge displays still read as fully charged. Overall...I'm very happy with the Astro A50X with lightspeed. I haven't tried it on the PC but for playing Call of Duty on the PS5 it has been a great addition. I do not know if the $350+ price tag is worth it...but I'm not a competitive gamer. The sound quality is great and I don't get complaints from my friends about my microphone feedback so I'm good to go

The Logitech G A50 X lightspeed, wireless gaming headset is a solid headset. In the box includes the headset, the base station, and USB cables. The base station is a charging dock, it also allows you to connect your Xbox, PS5 and PC all at once, with a toggle button on the headset that lets you switch between them. It also has a Bluetooth receiver built into it, to connect to mobile phones. I’m not a huge fan of having to connect my systems to the base station with an HDMI and USB (for each system), as it adds unnecessary cables and clutter. This kind of defeats the purpose of them being wireless, I would have preferred a wireless USB dongle, or the Bluetooth receiver built into the headset, instead of having to use the dock. The A50 X Headset has excellent build quality, plus its incredibly comfortable to wear for long periods of time. The soft cushion pads on each ear, are both comfortable and provides air passage so your ears don’t get too sweaty. Each ear cushion can both be removed as they’re just attached magnetically. This makes it very convenient when they get worn out and you need to swap them out for new ones. There is also another cushion that rests on top of your head to provide extra cushion and support. The flexible mic that’s attached to the left ear, has an auto flip up to mute feature, it also boasts 48khz studio quality sound, there is also independent game and chat volume controls directly on the right ear. When it comes to sound quality, the A50 X don’t disappoint. The Pro-G Graphene Audio drivers delivers both excellent sound quality and smooth bass. The headset is Dolby Atmos compatible, as well as Windows Spatial Audio, and Sony 3D audio. I connected the headset to my PC, and I downloaded the Dolby Atmos app on Windows. Right away, the program automatically detected my headset with no need to download or install drivers. The app has built-in demos, to be able to get a good sense of what Atmos sounds like, and the results were very impressive…It sounded like audio was coming in all directions around me, not to mention the clarity of the sound. I connected them to my PS5 next, and after a few adjustments in the settings, I was able to test out Sony’s 3D audio. While this sounded very clear and the 3d audio effects worked, I noticed that the Dolby Atmos sounded much better and had a much broader sound field, so I decided to switch the settings to Dolby Atmos. Overall, I am very impressed with the Logitech G A50 X Lightspeed headset. The headset is incredibly comfortable to wear, and it has a good build quality. The sound quality is top notch when it comes to gaming headsets, the virtual surround sound effects are incredible, and the sound is crystal clear. My only complaint would have to be the Base Station and having to connect it with so many cables. Other than that, I would definitely recommend these to any gamer looking for a good quality headset.

Logitech is no stranger to gaming headsets. The Logitech Astro A50 X Lightspeed Wireless feels like a one-stop shop for all your gaming headset needs. First off, I just love the way the Astro A50 X look. There is not much that has changed from its predecessor. It isn't a quiet design and it isn't excessively flashy either. I love the way that the headband slides up and down. The vast majority of the headset is plastic but it still feels premium. It does not feel cheap (and definitely is not cheap). Build quality feels good for the most part. The earpads are comfortable and breathable. Setup was the most annoying part of the process for me. The true advantage of the Astro A50 X is the ability to connect simultaneously to all the different systems. Otherwise, it probably is not worth it for most people. Now, due to the nature of all the different systems, it requires multiple cables and HDMI (which are not included). I am not the best with cable management so it took a while to make it make sense and pretty. Once set up, I was blown away by the performance. The sound quality is excellent. The mic quality is even better. I love not needing to pair-unpair every time. Now, the process is not always seamless as it does occasionally require an unplug/plug to reset but I was happy with the convenience. Unfortunately, this also means that it doesn't travel well with all of its wires. All in all, I was really happy with the Astro A50 X. It definitely occupies a niche role for those with multiple systems.

Excellent headset, sound quality is very clear and comfortable on your head and ears. You can easily switch between Xbox series x and PS5. You can also switch to PC but I don't have one. I highly recommend these and it also uses only 1 hdmi on your TV or monitor. The only con is the the price. I still think it's worth it but I'd look for a sale or coupon to save a little. Currently paying over time with Affirm so it don't hurt my wallet all at once.

If you follow the tutorials to a “T” (using recommended ultra highspeed HDMI 2.1 cables), you should have no issues with this headset. Has a lifetime dolby license and is recognized by the Dolby app once properly connected. I can’t speak for if they work flawlessly with LG monitors but I have a 4k 120hz samsung monitor and have zero issues. Connection is stable throughout my home and the headset and mic really sound amazing. Nice update from Gen 4 in my opinion. Also to mention, they really are lighter than gen 4 and they don’t feel taxing to wear after long sessions (6 plus hours). Bluetooth is a really nice touch on these as well for the base station and allows calls while gaming and still being able to hear game/party chat.
