Bought this as a replacement for my old Kenwood AV receiver. What a huge difference! Awesome power & sound. Really like the ARC input option & HDMI inputs. Easy speaker set up. Highly recommended.

My Denon AVR began to show its age; it's 11 years old. Its sound is fine, if slightly on the bright side, and 140W/channel of clean power it produces is perfectly satisfactory. It's not HiRes nor WiFi capable. Its remote broke down and no after market remote can fully replace it. The Marantz is a perfectly modern AVR with very smooth, if ever so slightly on the warm side, sound. I love it. It appears to have a very good built in DAC that is capable of 24/192 resolution. For me, its best features are the built in Spotify connect and 4K video. I'm very happy with this Marantz and my only complaint is the tiny round screen on it is almost useless. The remote app has bugs and needs firmware update.

Awesome sound quality. Great features. Online connectivity is quick. Can play songs I have on my home network. I can control it with my phone and play straight from my phone when I'm on network or through Bluetooth. Absolutely the best receiver I've owned, cheap enough to feel like a slice of luxury.

Priced higher than comparable Denon and made by same company. Share lots of parts. Music sounds great, display while in keeping with the Marantz styling is barely useful. Mobile apps very slow to open and often cannot locate receiver on network even though it is online. Suggest looking at higher level Denon for same price with more features (like the AVR-x3300w) .

At 60 years old I'm not the tech savy person who can comment on all the Marantz features. I can tell you that I've always wanted a Marantz and hearing the splendid sound I now know why. In Magnolia I could hear a distinct and better sound compared to both Denon and Yamaha. Also, it was very easy for me to set up on the net along with Pandora. I accidentally set it up so that all I do is turn it on and all 5 speakers provide great stereo sound, with my Pandora favorites already playing in the background. 5.1 seems robust and well defined. I combined it with Definitive Technologies speakers. Easy, convenient, and its a Marantz with their unique sound.

This Marantz A/V Receiver lifts your Home Theater to a new level. The sound is superior to most competing brands. It delivers clean, classic sound. The setup is easy. The internal amp generates more than enough power to drive my B&W CM Series speakers and M&K sub woofer.

I have this paired with a set of Definitive Technology Speakers in a 5.2 arrangement. Great sound. as with most high tech things it took a while to set up, but well worth my patients. Great sound! wish now I had bought the Atmos speakers for my Def Tech towers!

I was a HK owner for over twenty years wanted a high end receiver this unit was recommended to me verses another HK. Awesome sound features are a plus with all the different options. Set up is challenging to a beginner. Could explain the terms in more detail and how they affect the sound. Don’t like the small display window but getting use to it. There is a delay when it changes from on screen back to cable/ sat setting. Also does not display options when you go from the Smart TV format or the TV when using built in apps such as Net Flicks TV tuner Etc or maybe I haven’t figured how to make that adjustment.

I looked at Denon, Onkyo, Yamaha and Marantz while deciding which to do. Some had more features than others. For me owning a piece of equipment that satisfied my dreams of owning a marantz just for the name/nostalgia. Does everything i need to just great. front HDMI is great, streaming audio is superb over network. Only downside is no video play fro m front USB. Love it

My wife purchased a Marantz SR5011 receiver for me as a birthday gift this April (2017). In the 40 years we've been together, whenever the subject of replacing our home audio equipment would come up, I always said that the heart of any new system would have to be Marantz and Klipsch. I would never have bought this for myself...she did...she's the best!
Setting up my Marantz receiver was simple thanks to the online user's manual. I was up and running in much less time than I anticipated. My wife and I have been 110% happy with the way music and movies sound.
The staff at the W. Kellogg Best Buy in Wichita, Ks worked with my wife every step of the way to see that she got everything for the lowest price possible. They looked everywhere on the internet and matched their competitors lowest prices.
Neither the receiver. nor the turntable were in stock at the above-mentioned Best Buy store but they were both delivered to our home within 2 days for the receiver and 4 days for the turntable.
Thank you Best Buy W. Kellogg in Wichita for going the extra steps for my wife to ensure I had a great birthday.

After trying out Yamaha Av-760 amp, it was missing the clarity, power, and easy set up.
The Marantz 5011 is fantastic!!
Better sound, clarity, and easy menu set up. Both music and movies come alive. Only using 60% volume and plenty loud!! If you are looking for the amp that delivers....look no further, get this one . ( Bowers 683 towers, bowers center, rears, atmos, SVS sb2000)

I was looking at the 6011 originally - but then this went on sale. The fantastic price is what tipped the scale for me to purchase it. Set up was a breeze, except for wireless airplay, with my iPad, which I haven't figured out yet. I am able to wire it to the receiver and it works fine and I charge my iPad as well. Sound wise I usually prefer Yamaha receivers but after using/listening to the Marantz I am very pleased with this receiver.

I originally had a Marantz SR7009, but unfortunately it could not pass a full UHD 4K signal; only supported HDMI 1.4 and did not support HDCP 2.2.
So I purchased the SR5011; which supported all of those. It sounds incredible. Ample power to drive my B&W 685 S2's w/matching HTM62 S2 center channel and Polk T-15 rears. Great features and can go very deep into the setup menus to ensure you'll get the absolute best sound from your speakers.

I bought this Marantz to solve a myriad of "problems" I had with my home audio.
I have a 4K Samsung 55" tv, a pair of PSB bookshelves, an ancient (but tight!) Denon DSW-50 sub... and a PS3, XBox One. The AV components relied on the free Samsung soundbar, while the separates were running off a nearly 2 decade old NAD C350. I had a host of digital converter boxes to tie things together including an airport express but frankly it was all getting too much.
Enter Marantz and the SR5011 - wow! With native AirPlay, full suite of HDMI connections as well as preamp in/outs for my sub I finally have the One AV Receiver To Rule Them All. Frodo would be proud.
However, nothing about this AVR needs to be thrown into the fires of Mordor. The soundstage is tight and clear, bringing my PSBs to life, while the imaging for video is brilliant - I may forgo a center speaker for the time being.
I look forward to putting some mileage on this machine, so far I'm very impressed.
