Absolutely fantastic reciever. Plenty of power and after setup everything including airplay and earc just work as intended. Not one issue at all, I highly recommend!

Marantz Cinema 40 vs earlier comparable Marantz

While the newest Marantz Cinema 40 is incrementally better than my 7 year old Marantz 7011 it is not a jump forward in sound quality and functionality. For nearly $4000 if you have a high quality AVR from the past 10 years, continue to enjoy it.

Everything is great except the HEOS app. IT is horrible. After a while streaming my Amazon Music or Pandora it starts playing excessive static and distortion in the music. If I power cycle the Receiver/App if starts working again. It sometimes just shuts off. I have to reopen the app to start it again. HEOS is not user friendly either.

Unit failed 9 days after warranty. Support from Marantz is horrible. If I could rate a zero I would. Story top long to write but To this day (10/26/25) still having issues! Marantz DOES NOT stand behind their product.

Don’t buy! I replaced a marantz sr7012 with the 40 and it is junk compared to the 7012. It wont turn off, it wont turn, it wont automatically select input. It is a waste of a lot of money. Don’t buy

If the receiver is connected to the same TV as SR7012, a firmware update may be required on the TV to possibly resolve the issue. Awesome power. Really enjoy the flexibility this unit has to connect to all my audio and visual home system needs. I plan to expand my system as my budget allows.
