This game is just wow! The graphics are gorgeous and the environments are just jaw dropping. The story is great although not as good as the original Trilogy for various reasons. It's just not as much at stake this time around. The multiplayer mode is refined to a new level. It's addictive and fluid. Did I say it was fluid? Because it is extremely fluid and easy to pick up and play. Great game for those new to the series!

A new adventure awaits in the universe with Mass Effect: Andromeda, the first next-generation game in the expansive sci-fi RPG franchise Mass Effect created by acclaimed studio Bioware. Mass Effect Andromeda takes place far away from and long after the events of the original trilogy. With stunning visuals and a new galaxy to discover, BioWare delivers the next generation of space exploration.

This is still a good entry to the mass effect saga but it is not as good as 1 or 2. It almost feels like one of those rebooted franchises where you say to yourself, I see what you were going for...but the originals were better. Not that this one is bad per say just lacking by comparison.

After reading the overwhelming amount of Reviews and YouTube posts about this game, I was hesitant about getting it. But the more research I did, the more I started to realize that they are NOT about the game play but much more about getting "hits and ratings" for their channel. We live in a bizarre time and now more than ever, you simply cannot trust mob trends any longer for legitimate information, as almost all YouTube channels have an agenda that may, or may not have anything to do with the topic or game. This is a spectacular game period! Massive maps and endless engaging storylines are accompanied by some of the best combat gameplay I've experienced, smooth, accurate and comletely addictive. The early complaints about graphic issues were the bulk of all the YouTube reviews and no longer apply after recent patches and updates. That might make for lots of click bait, but is very misleading. This game is an open world spectacular!

Andromeda has been a very fun game for me thus far, I've put in tons of hours into it thus far and have a lot still left to do in the game. I have already decided that this is a game I need to play more than once. The combat is great especially with the addition of the jump jet, it's fun to dash in and out of cover or just hover in the air and rain death from above upon enemies who are taking cover of their own. The story and dialog have been pretty great thus far in my opinion, especially between player character and the crew of the Tempest ship you get put in command of early in the game, there are some lines though that are complete duds; for instance someone actually utters the words "my face is tired" when having a conversation with my character. I do see its flaws though, the facial animations are not the greatest for one thing, but I'm hoping that can get fixed up some in a patch. Bioware has already started making improvements with their latest patch that made the eyes look better and not as dead/blank as they looked when the game first launched, so I hope they keep this up and continue to make improvements. Overall I think it's a good game that with some improvements will become a great game. Like I said earlier in the review I will be playing this again and I do hope there's some dlc planned for the future because I want to experience more of this game.

The reviews for this were blown WAY out of proportion. Andromedas biggest flaw is in its technical issues. Many of its characters have plastic expressions akin to mass effect 1. But, bioware is patching these by the day. Another of its cruxes is its choice of squadmates. When compared to past cast-members, they're relatively uninteresting and disappointingly, there's only one new race to add to your team. Despite these things, andromeda takes some bold risks that make it a great addition to the franchise. The combat is the best in the series. It's more mobile and fast paced thanks to the addition of jump-jets, and more customizable with the abolishing of the traditional class system from previous games. Instead of being locked into one class from start to finish, all abilities are open from the beginning, and you are free to mix combat, biotic, and tech abilities in interesting ways. Andromeda also does a fantastic job of instilling a feeling of adventure in the player. You really feel like a trailblazer, setting up outposts and colonies on new planets, discovering awesome flora and fauna, and gathering resources for your cause. It's what no mans sky SHOULD have been. And despite some disappointing facial animations and some boring characters, I got absolutely addicted to the combat and exploration that andromeda excels at.

Mass Effect Andromeda reviewers panned it for cringeworthy facial animations, a flat story, and disjointed voice acting. The only critique I saw any merit in was the facial animations, but they're not any worse than they were in Dragon Age Inquisition. However, you do get beautiful third person shooter combat, an engaging story, and party members that you care about. With the 1.05 patch, much of the gameplay pain points have been resolved (especially being able to skip autopilot scenes and increasing inventory space). I personally already finished my first playthrough and am planning my second and third.

At launch, the game had a lot of issues, most of which have been patched. It's a brand new story from the Mass Effect universe - still enjoyable if you enjoyed the characters and storylines from the previous 3 entries. It dropped in price pretty quickly after release, but as far as a time:price ratio, it's a good value.

After reading the reviews on the game, I felt a little skeptic about keeping my pre-order. Good thing I didn't cancel, because 3 hours into the game, I was hooked! There is a great story to the game, and I really love the combat controls they have for in the game. It does take a little getting used to, but I would say an hour in you'll be fine with the controls. I am playing this on my Xbox One S hooked to a 4k TV, and the HDR feature in this game looks beautiful! Some side quests are somewhat annoying with "Hey go to this planet", then spend 5 minutes just getting to that planet to have them go "Go to this planet now". Maybe it's me, but that tends to get a little annoying at times. As for the animation, I don't see it being a problem as I look past that because it's not why I bought the game. But if knowing the issue they have with the animation and for that to bother you, I would wait for a sale as they would most likely have that patched up. I tend to compare a lot of RPG games to The Witcher 3, and I will be honest with it not up to that standard. But I'm still enjoying the game and have sunken a good amount of hours so far in this game exploring the world and getting into some heavy gun fights!

As always the BioWare has delivered an other fantastic installment in the space opera that is the Mass Effect universe. The gameplay is familiar and the story is great. My only issue is this iteration seems riddled with bugs. Most simply minor annoyances but other players have reported some pretty harsh ones that have impacted play through.

Though the game has received a great deal of criticism, it is still a more than competent western RPG. The original Mass Effect trilogy was a beautifully orchestrated endeavor that made you care about your interactions with characters. That still stands true in Andromeda. The action is still Mass Effect. The progression system, though slightly different, is still Mass Effect. The travel system...Mass Effect. So if you loved the original game, pick this up on the cheap!

    A Really Good Game... Now

Certainly a lot has been said about Mass Effect: Andromeda, and not much of it good. The game was released with a lot of issues and bugs, but since its release in March Bioware/EA has released several updates to correct these issues. The game is far from perfect, there's still bugs, but a lot of the major issues have been corrected. I bought the game the week it was released but after all the negative reviews held off on playing it for months. Playing it now, you can finally enjoy the game for what it is. There's a real sense of exploration and discovery combined with a good combat system, leveling, and resource management. There's a solid story at play here, and while it shares a lot of elements with the original trilogy, it is quite enjoyable. It's a shame that the game was rushed out to awful reviews because there really is something great here.

I love the series. This one is a little more menu-driven than 3 was... almost like it was going back to the mass effect game roots with equipment variations and skill trees. Control are easy to learn. There have been multiple updates to fix game glitches, and now it's biggest glitch seems to be your character taking a drink in a bar without holding a cup and some objects passing though others. Complex story, co-op multiplayer missions that have an impact on the main game. Good continuation. I'd tone down the amount of weapon choices though and instead turn incorporate it into skill trees, but that's a personal preference. Love it otherwise.

This game had a lot to live up to, especially after the disappointment felt by fans who played ME3. After playing this game, I can confidently say "Meh?" First, the Bad: facial animations, glitches, etc. They are what we knew them to be. Whatever reasons you may have, they are noticeable and annoying on occasion. The Ok: ambition. For an entirely new galaxy and huge potential, the game only delivers enough to make you want more. You have aliens, ships, interesting interplay between yourself and various factions (all reasonably satisfying). However, it all seems like new upholstery on an old couch. The Good: RPG depth. If you like detail, you have more than enough. Lots of information and more if you are willing to explore. Want to know about the minutia of an alien race? You can find it. Also, the attention to atmospheric constraints (heat/cold/radiation/etc.) and weight make this game more complex, but in a way that is a bit more reasonable given the complexities of planetary compositions and ability of people to survive and even thrive in remarkable conditions. Overall, worth buying, but you may want to wait until patches are released for the worst issues.

Thought the game was better than a lot if the reviews would have you believe. The story kept me interested and the exploration was fun. This has a much lighter tone than the original Mass effect trilogy, but that didn't detract from the fun. The game kept me interested in the story the whole way through and I had a lot of fun exploring. The animations can be a little wonky at times and the dialogue isn't quite what I expected having played through the original trilogy, but overall it was still a good time.
