Great but still needs better QC

First one I bought had an issue with one of the paddle buttons. For something that costs this much they should have better quality control but took it back to best buy and replaced it the same day. Second unit was perfect. I had the series 1 before and this one feels even more solid than that one but between the two the newer one has smaller paddles which I wasnt too big a fan of. Luckily I could swap in my old paddles and now its great. Also a huge fan of the customizable home button colors and the resistance settings for the thumbsticks are also a nice touch compared to the previous version. I wanted to hold off until they came out with the series 3 but Im honestly glad I got this because I cant imagine what more they could do to improve upon this one besides adding gimmicky features. This is the ultimate controller and Im super happy with it.

Good Pro controller. Feels nice and well made, feels premium. Has a good weight to it and I love the swappable stick selection, and absolutely love the four back paddles that can be easily removed, and the triggers have stops to change the length of travel. The best part is the companion app where you can adjust the settings of the input curves and button mapping layout how you like for each individual game. You can save up to 250 individual controller profiles and have three ready to load at the press of the center button. Really nice with the weighted battery charger and case. Very premium and well made. Wish the next version would have Hall effect joysticks. But I have experienced zero stick drift and have used this controller for 7 months daily and heavily.

Only thing is paddle placement and looseness

Overall, a very decent controller for the price there’s only marginal stick drift and the build is solid. It’s a heavy controller. I like that you can customize the light of the Xbox button to any color you want nice feature, and obviously the tuning of the controller is very good in the app on the Xbox the Microsoft controller plays best with Game Pass on PC and console The only thing is the paddle placement they get loose It’s hard to slide cancel in Call of Duty for example

I’ve tried other controllers and I always come back to the Xbox elite. Im gaming on pc and if your doing the same you can buy a dongle and it’s definitely worth it as the input latency is even lower.

A very good controller for all around gaming. You don’t need to be a pro league gamer to get enjoyment out of this controller, the paddles allow so much versatility for so many different types of players. The small form factor and high quality materials make it sit easy and comfortable in the hands, and the long battery life will keep you playing for days. The customization potential is endless with the Xbox devices app (which can be downloaded on pc as well) which gives those who are tinkers full reign. Those who would rather just “set it and forget it” also have many great preset options.

This my 2nd purchase of an elite series 2 Xbox controller, and I am happy to report that my expectations were met again. My first one was a customized controller purchased through Microsoft….at any rate, I am now the proud owner of two elite series 2 controllers to pair with my Series X console…..I am satisfied, and I would recommend the elite series 2 controllers.

This controller is what I've been wanting for the longest time as it offers wireless charging and not needing a battery back. It is easy to customize the controls, triggers, and paddles. It is also nice to have 3 different profiles, if you want to use it as a normal controller you just make sure the profile icon is off. When the profile is off that's the only normal way to take screenshots, so seeing a designated button would be much better.

If you’re reading this, you most likely need a little perspective on if this is worth buying. From my experience and comparisons to other “pro-gamer” type controllers, this is hands down the best in terms of feel and gameplay. Quality for me has been an issue with stick drift and shoulder buttons over several controllers. I hate to say it, but I love this controller so much, I have a backup waiting in a box. 2-3 hours a night of gaming for 8+ months and I usually start to see symptoms of failure. The options are to go with Geek Squad protection for which provides a same day replacement, or send it off to Microsoft for the 1 year warranty. Or both. It really is a great controller. I’d recommend protection or having a 2nd on deck in the event your primary goes down.

This controller is amazing I absolutely love it! I was looking at scuf and battle beaver since that’s what pros use but then I stumbled upon this on Reddit and so I pulled the trigger wow! The quality is great it feels very premium. So many adjustments you can make from mapping the buttons or paddles to adjusting tension on the sticks. You can remove and use different sticks or DPAD with a quick pull. It comes with a very nice carrying case for when on the go and so you can take care of your $175 controller haha. You do have to download like 3 Microsoft apps on the computer to do that though and that is slightly annoying and makes it difficult for the average person that doesn’t know what they’re doing. Pros: -premium materials -interchangeable buttons and sticks -adjust tension of sticks and trigger tolerances -comes with a nice case to hold everything -paddles Cons: - It is nice but it is also $175 lol an Xbox is $299 so you are buying another Xbox haha kind of cray Overall I would definitely tell people to buy this And I would say it’s a good investment if you play competitive shooters like COD. It does take some getting used to. You’re gonna keep trying to hit the buttons becsuse you’ve always played like that but once you are trained you will play a lot better since you don’t have to take your hands of the sticks and away from aiming to jump reload switch weapons and lay down. I map mine right too paddle: reload Left top paddle: switch weapons Button left: jump Bottom right: lay down/crouch. I hope this helps.

It's a recent generation xbox controller, so it can easily connect to your windows pc without the need of a dongle. The back buttons... on the back... are a life-changer. I would personally have a hard time going back to a controller without back buttons. You can customize the back buttons -and I think the general buttons too- however you want. You can have up to 4 back buttons in total and they are all removable. So if you are unsure about using them all at once, you can simply ease into it. The price is expensive, so make sure to properly think if you want such a product, but it is cheaper than getting the xbox core controller and the separate accessories. Great to play on your xbox or if you like to use controllers for your pc, it is easy to do so.

    Worth 139.99? Yes

Caught this controller on sale for 139.99 and I am recommending it on that price. Aesthetically, the controller is awesome. Full rubberized front and back handles, not that ‘faux” gripped like on the series X controller either. Interchangeable sticks and wheelpad( Change that thing ASAP, it sucks!). Honestly would have preferred another set of the rubberized sticks instead of the variations that come with it (I also don’t see how to purchase OEM ones separately). Controller body and trigger rumble is great, although the PS5 dual sense haptic feedback is awesome and I like it more. But, the feel of this controller is just top notch. Coming from PS5 to series X, I bought this controller and used it right away. So in comparison to the default series X controller, this one beats it no contest. The long lasting rechargeable built in battery, the premium feel, the resistance modifier for the analog sticks, and the customizable paddles change it for me. I keep trying to tap the paddles when I play PS5 to no avail. It might seem expensive to buy but after using it, it will be hard to play with the regular series X one. I haven’t had any of QC issues the original elite series had. The case it comes with is also a charging dock, so you can plug the USB C to the case and lay the controller on top after moving to the side the felt cloth layer.

First and foremost, let's talk about the design. Microsoft has really outdone themselves with the Elite Series 2. The controller feels premium in hand, with a sturdy construction that exudes durability. The textured grips not only provide a comfortable feel during extended gaming sessions but also ensure a secure grip, even during intense gameplay. As an avid gamer, I'm always on the lookout for tools that can take my gaming experience to the next level. The Microsoft Elite Series 2 Wireless Controller is one such device that has truly impressed me. From its sleek design to its customizable features, this controller is a game-changer in every sense.

If youre accustomed to the xbox controller, you'll feel right at home here. It includes all the ergonomics youve come to enjoy over the years, but includes all the bells and whistles. Controller is sturdy, weighty, and feels premium in thr metal and matte materials. The hair triggers are an especially useful tool for serious FPS players. Highly recommend.

Great controller. Feels great in the hand very dense. I love the case! Having the removable dock in the case for charging was a great idea. The customization options are seamless. You can also remap everything on the controller. With the shift option you can control any action the console supports. Overall great control. Compared to the Dual Sense for PS5, i wish that they added the adaptive triggers. I do like the locking triggers but the sensation of the resistance when you pull a trigger is just too good.

Best Buy offered the best deal I could find for the Elite 2 controller. I appreciate its heavier and more durable feel compared to the regular controller. The attempt to fix the grip issue and the switch to USB-C are also positives. However, it would be even better with hall effect or a similar feature to prevent stick drift. It's worth noting that these controllers came out before hall effect joysticks became more common. Perhaps this is something they will consider for the Elite 3 design improvements.

I bought this so I never had to take my fingers off the thumb sticks. Works great for this can map the 4 paddles to any buttons on the controller. And they are at your fingertips this said the controller is awesome. The battery lasts for every long gaming session I have charge it every night when I go to bed. I use the Xbox Stereo headset with this and it still has no problem. Only thing I would of asked was a smaller price tag.

TL;DR You will go through multiple controllers because of abysmal quality control unless you are extremely lucky. Would be an incredible controller if it actually didn’t have such issues. Don’t waste your time or money, it isn’t worth it in the long run. While I bought the original Elite controller and purchased the Series 2 soon after release, about a year in I noticed there was an issue with the A button which would occasionally double register, completely stop registering at all. This obviously is a huge issue. I had several issues with the original Series controllers so I figured this one would be better. I was wrong after receiving the first replacement. It was okay for the little bit I tested it, except a crack in the Xbox Home button which could cut a finger. So I returned it for a replacement as soon as I could get back up to the store. I received the replacement today, one of the only ones left in the store and was a ecstatic to be able to play some of my favorite FPS again on a controller that doesn’t hurt my hands as much as my PS5 controllers do. About 10 minutes into a match of Halo Infinite to test it out, it became apparent that I could not press in the left thumb stick while at any other angle besides up, down, left, & right. My previous Elite Series 2 never had this issue, so I contacted technical support at Microsoft who deal with controller related issues. I was told to return it immediately as it is defective. I noticed my Series X/S controllers also do not have this issue, just a side note. As someone who has to drive a distance to even reach my local Best Buy and also pay tolls to get across bridges, this is infuriating at the lack of quality control that Microsoft offers on their products. I’ve owned several Xbox controllers dating back to the Duke (the original Xbox controller), and besides the original Elite controller have I seen quality control so shoddy. They should fire whomever engineered these controllers, along with the engineer and product designer for the wireless headset (the mic will always break off after time due to poor placement of a screw and soft plastic that bends till it breaks if you ever press the mute button or god forbid move the boom mic in a different position). I love to support all hardware companies, Microsoft, Sony, Nintendo, even Valve. But this is a product that I can not recommend if my life depended on it. If you are fortunate enough to receive one in perfect condition, count your blessings. Because after this ordeal, I doubt I will buy any more “Elite” Xbox products, having sunken $420 into their 2 TB SSD, 1 TB SSD, 3 regular controllers, a Series X & S, and another headset after the first one’s mic fell off 3 months after buying it and was told by Microsoft that it’s common but there is nothing they can do. Steer clear of this unless you have the time and means to keep trying if you receive lemons like I and many others have.
