Customers are saying

Customers are delighted by the Surface Laptop Studio's performance, innovative design, and ample RAM, frequently praising its power and ease of use. However, some users express concerns regarding battery life, the limited number of USB ports, and the device's weight. The screen size and its susceptibility to display issues were also mentioned as potential drawbacks. Overall, the positive feedback on performance and design outweighs the negative comments on other features.

    Great, versatile laptop

Absolutely love this laptop. It is very versatile with its touch screen which can be folded over the keyboard, making doing art or taking notes easy, especially with the stylus which works with the laptop excellently. The stylus sticks magnetically to the bottom of the laptop where it is charges, which is very convenient. However, the magnet isn't super strong, so I have unfortunately lost the stylus after nearly loosing it multiple times. If purchasing the stylus, I would recommend storing it separately in a case or bag rather than on the laptop. The processer and RAM i purchased this laptop with can handle any game I throw at it and then some. It does struggle to stay cool if the sides are covered as they often are when I play games with it in my lap, but this can be easily avoided by setting it on a table or desk instead. Truly a laptop that does absolutely everything. I love the hard keyboard as compared to other surface models, and the subsequent sturdiness of the design, which allows for it to be used as both a laptop and a tablet. I love the charger, which is flat and magnetic. The only issues I've had with this laptop has come from the grips at the bottom, which after around a year of heavy use have come off. They seem to be partially magnetic and partially glued, and the adhesive used hasn't held up over time. I will likely clean off what's left of the adhesive and put new grips on. The other issue I have is with battery life, which leaves something to be desired but isn't too bad. All in all, I would highly recommend the surface studio laptop.

A screaming laptop with 32GB. A little heavy but not a big deal for me since I do not tote is around every day and what you would expect with discreet graphics card, extra memory and larger storage. The touch screen is awesome. One reason I did not go with a new Mac Pro. The screen is so nice with 120hz refresh rate that it has truly stunning graphics for movies and video games. The graphic art capabilities rival larger graphic tablets and touchscreen computers for commercial art. The slim pen (sold separately) is very fluid with no noticeable latency. The three position screen is unique and very functional in all positions. Price was less than a new Mac Pro with equal specs. Worth every dollar in my opinion. I run dual monitors with an HDMI adapter. I am very happy with my purchase.

    Perfect Laptop for Creative Users

I upgraded from the Surface Book 3 since that laptop gave me such a headache with all of its issues. This laptop is like a breath of fresh air in comparison. Getting the most RAM and better storage was definitely worth it. I was able to successfully use the tablet portion without sacrificing Graphics Card capability. I use Computer Assisted Drafting programs (AutoCAD, Vectorworks), and this machine runs them super well. My only drawback is battery life. It does not live as long as I'd like it to, and I hope this isn't an issue with my specific unit. It usually gives me no more than four hours of battery life. And this will be with me not doing anything intensive, but web browsing and video streaming. Not gaming or 3D Rendering. Also, the lack of ports is a bummer. Sure, I own docks and such, but just having one USB-A Port makes a world of difference. So overall, strong machine, and I highly recommend it. (Also, if you need a stylus, get the Slim Pen 2. It fits so nice in the notch underneath.)

Bought this to replace my Surface Book 2. I got the 32GB RAM/1TB SSD configuration and it is awesome. I've edited a couple videos and it doesn't flinch. The display is great too. Connectivity is what it is. I purchased a dock separately to support dual 4k monitors and other devices. The Bluetooth works well for my mouse, keyboard, and headset. Best of all for me is the wireless card! My SB2 had a garbage wireless card with a very weak receiver (87-256Mb/s down). This laptop maxes all the time at 866Mb/s up and down which is huge for me transferring large files too and from cloud storage. I really have no complaints after two weeks of ownership and having done the research before purchasing.

Great product for someone who is creative. Provides options combining a laptop, tablet and Surface Studio option for more hands on. As a designer, going with the i7 - 32GB Memory - 1TB SSD Platinum, it is enough to work within the Adobe programs without any lag or glitching. Highly recommended because of the speed on start-up and while using the browser, applications and different features.

Love this beast. As a developer I been using mine to work to develop different automations while also designing flowcharts in whiteboard. Having 32GB ram running multiple applications from pycharm, ssms and having plugged into external monitor this baby holds up. The keyboard feels amazing.

    It's a luxury laptop

The Surface Laptop Studio is beyond my expectations. It is beautiful and powerful machine. The screen is stunning. Already enjoying the advantages over my beloved Surface Book 3. While I rarely detached the Book's screen for tablet mode, being able to switch between laptop, stage, and tablet mode is seamless on this machine and it doesn't disrupt my work flow nor the display by going from maximized/full screen to a small window. I ordered the 32gb RAM 1tb SSD model. Wickedly expensive for a Win laptop in 2021, but having it in my hands now, there is no remorse. It looks, feels, and performs like a luxury sportscar. The shipping ETA for the 32gb RAM 1tb SSD model was 3 weeks when I ordered it from Microsoft, but it arrived exactly a week early. The haptic on the touchpad and pen is genius and contributes far more to my overall experience than I anticipated. Probably the feature I appreciate the most. The Surface dock that I already had for my Book works flawlessly, plug and play without any setup. I'm glad they didn't change the charge port, I may not have ordered it if it had had a new proprietary connection. Win 11 as an Insider user is great so far, although I really wish they would give back the ability to move the task bar to any edge. I need it back on the top. The new Start screen is much better. The live tiles on Win 10 could have been awesome, but execution was pitiful, few apps had the feature and the few that did rarely worked as they should have. The new design is efficient and elegant. Microsoft did miss a huge opportunity by eliminating the SD card reader. That is so fundamental to a huge audience that this powerful machine should cater to: creatives like photographers and graphic artists. What we're they thinking?! I mean, it's a *Studio*! A dongle will have to suffice. Still, I have no regrets. I am enjoying using my computer again. That's remarkable considering I'm in front of one all day every day.
