Switching from Mac
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. So far this has been a great computer for someone previously on a Mac. I love how thin and light it is and that it's so versatile - it can be a laptop or a tablet, and has optional touch-screen. Hoping Windows continues to improve their OS, but I'm liking this so far!

Great tablet/PC for the price
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great tablet, not as fast as my i5 older surface but love the keyboard and price. I think the only reason I haven't given it five stars is because videos from Netflix and Youtube play ok but when I compare it to the upgraded surface 6 it lags in quality.

Adds to Laziness
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This specific model can be slow but that's only when you hit it with some moderate multitasking. After buying this, I just stopped using my rig because why get up out of bed and turn my desktop on? That's too much effort. I now have the option to grab my Surface Pro and use it while in bed. It's a pretty decent deal for $600, but if you're more of a power user, I implore you spend extra for the i5, 8GB Pro 6.

My latest MS tablet
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I knew what I was purchasing based on my experience with the Surface RT and Surface 3. This tablet left me with no questions, it is exactly what I have come to expect. It is loaded with Win 10 Home, so I did upgrade to Win 10 Pro. With the Type cover, priced t $599, plus $99 for the OS upgrade, it can't be beat. Also, a personal favorite for me; it still has Windows Media Player. I am not a power user, I do sometimes push it though and this tablet has not let me down. Functionally, it will push 1080p to an external monitor (but only with the cover closed, with the cover open the aspect ratio matches that of the tablet leaving blank space at the left and right side of your monitor), it is backwards compatible with the first Surface pens and it is powerful enough for everyday use, not just on the road or travel where a full PC or large laptop may be inconvenient. It is a great table, doubling as a small laptop, or vice versus. Unless your a super power user, you can't go wrong with this Tablet.

Disappointed to say the least
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Before I purchased this surface I had the surface 3 and I was extremely satisfied until it was stolen from me. So satisfied i talked multiple classmates into buying the surface 4. I decided to buy the surface pro 4 myself expecting even a better quality than the previous. Unfortunately that has not been the case. I do not normally leave reviews but can no longer deal with the frustration that my tablet has brought me . Since I first bought it i always had issues with the pen not working but I never gave it too much attention because I did not care to use it. Some time down the line the screen stopped being responsive I bought the warranty and it feels like waste of money. I had to wait a month for them return to me a refurbished surface. If you simply exchange it for a refurbished surface why the wait its ridiculous especially considering how important these devices become in our day to day lives. So fine they return the surface I get home only to realize that the light sensor doesn't work effectively and blacks out the whole screen unless plugged in. Since then I have been using it with the issue but now again the same issue has come up in which the screen loses responsiveness. Now I'm faced with the dreaded choice of even having to consider buying a new one when I never fully got to experience the usage of such an expensive product.

DO NOT PURCHASE A MICROSOFT SURFACE PRO.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Please share I purchased a Surface Pro and as soon as the warranty ended, it stopped working. DO NOT PURCHASE A MICROSOFT SURFACE PRO. Below is the email they sent me. I spent over $1k for this device and I hardly used it. Now, they want me to pay an additional $600 with the same risk. This is unacceptable and bad business. I have laptop and tablets that I have had for six plus years and they are working properly. This device quit after 18 months. <<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<< Hello Stephany This is Benjamin from the surface support Team, I hope you are doing well today, I am contacting you today as after escalating your case I need to let you know that even that I brought your case to our escalations team the request has been denied and there is no more escalation process to do as per the nature of the case as the device has been Out of warranty for more than a year now and the only replacement option at the moment will the Out of Warranty replacement for $599. Please let me know if you would like to proceed with the replacement or no so I can continue with the case closure or help you with the order for the fee that already explained above. Horrid
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Horrid, not user friendly. Keeps on trying to get me to use "trail" for new Word program and doesn't have close for it. Customer service was not good. Difficulty getting Skype to work. When logging into my Skype account, tablet kept creating a new account so I ended up with two Skype accounts... Privacy settings are difficult to use, and directed me to 3rd party websites to "opt-out". Sending me to 3rd party websites? It's not rocket science... Should be simple, "tell Microsoft not to share my personal data". They make it as difficult as possible for privacy. Trying to use Kindle on full screen, then getting back to main screen is nearly impossible... Do not recommend this product.

Breaks after 18 months
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I babied my Surface Pro and found out even with maticulous care, the hardware has a shelf life of about a couple years. The hard drive failed on mine and Microsoft has made it impossible to service.
