Customers are saying

Customers are satisfied with the Surface Pro 8's portability, screen size, and performance. Many appreciate its lightweight design and the speed of the SSD. However, some customers point to the battery life and the need to purchase the keyboard separately as drawbacks. The high price point and limited storage were also mentioned as areas for potential improvement.

If you’re looking for a top of the line work computer, this is the one. Light weight, fast and very good display. I would’ve given it five stars if it could have run Myst. I got hooked on Myst 30 years ago and wanted to play it again. I was willing to pay good money for a computer that I could use for work and play. The surface 8 pro just cannot get the job done. My surface pro six computer is still an excellent work computer.

The Surface Pro 8 I have owned for about a month now and have now regrets in my purchase. It has been everything I was hoping for in a tablet and more. The speed that it comes on is amazingly fast. I enjoy the touch screen. Thinking of down the road to purchase the keyboard and pen for it.

I like the large screen (same as SutfacevPro X) and can run nonARM version of Windows. I wished it had the cellular chip, but that is the business model only. Portability is nice and works very well with Bluetooth keyboard, mouse and 3 monitors for remote connection for work.

I liked the Surface Pro X but then I updated to the Pro 8 and definitely am glad I did. Great functionality and the touch screen is just an extra bonus. It's lightweight enough and compact to fit into my purse but the screen is large enough that nothing gets cut off.

Great PC and tablet. I have it docked with 2 screens normally, and use it by itself when traveling. Perfect for normal business computing. The touch screen is very responsive and great to use while reading documents or emails.

I can't understand why this model gets good reviews by professionals. The keyboard/kickstand setup is a LOT less usable than expected, completely unstable on anything but a flat surface (that's why it's called a surface???), impossible to move around one-handed or hand off to someone else. But worse is it's REALLY buggy. I've only had the computer for a couple of months and the keyboard has lost connection to the computer a few times, forcing a hard reset, it goes into hibernation instead of sleeping after like 30 minutes and takes over 5 seconds to recover, right now it's listing my Bluetooth headphones as connected in one menu and disconnected in another. Yes of course I've re-installed Windows, which is even harder now with Windows 11, thank you MS. I REALLY wish I'd returned it right when I bought it instead of trying to get used to the ergonomics. Starting to consider (gasp) a Mac...

The Surface Pro 8 with Intel Core i7, 16gb, and 13" screen is a portable powerhouse. 256gb SSD drive is sufficient because most documents are stored in the cloud. Battery life lasts all day and then some for typical office/business work.

Great tablet, nice size screen. I use it for fun but is powerful and responsive enough for business use as well. Battery life could be improved but other than that, very pleased with it.

The best surface yet, though it gets warm doing basic tasks. i7 model. I like it, but am likely to return given the price. Watching yiurube and taking notes with the type cover flipped to the back gets the screen warm enough that I’m not sure if I like the prospects for longevity

Great for students and professionals…it has been huge asset for both. Love the ability to dock and use for other screens at my desk. Just simple detach when I want work in bed or the living room.

Use it for school, work, and light gaming. Bought a 1TB SSD and it runs great, definitely enjoy it more than my iPad I had ! Only thing I don’t like is lack of battery life. Fingers crossed for SP9.

This is everything that I wanted in a truely portable laptop / Tablet. I travel and love the flexibility and speed of the surface pro. The only negaris the charger. USB c would be a much better charging option.

I like it, but it’s far from perfect. Compared to the the Pro X, it’s noticeably heavier, thicker and runs fairly warm. The Pro X is plagued by the availability of ARM app availability, not sure who the intended audience is for that one. Explain to a nontechnical user that they can’t install TurboTax on a Windows machine. I’m a power user, not just using this for browsing. The 120Hz display refresh is great, but you have to dig into the settings for it. No way I’d see the 16 hours of battery life but I use memory intensive apps. Seriously considering returning it for a Dell XPS 13 2 in 1 or an HP. The other two aren’t tablets, which I REALLY wanted but are WAAAY cheaper after adding in the $260 keyboard and stylus plus for the price have you’d get double the storage on those. I got the 256Gb, figured I could upgrade it, but it’s an M.2 2230 SSD, good luck finding those. Also only comes with Windows Home, so already spent another $100 for upgrade to Pro on a “Pro” device.

Very high quality product. I purchased this one to work from and wanted something durable, high speed and light so it is easy to carry. So far, it has met all expectations. Great product and would recommend.

I am in LOVE with this tablet / PC! I bought this recently as a replacement for an old HP laptop that decided to die on me. I'm a student. I needed something to take notes in class. And the idea of being able to take notes with a PEN on a SCREEN sold me on the surface ecosystem. I got the Pro 8 with a keyboard attachment and one of the new pens. The computer is blowing me away to be a tablet size PC in terms of performance, the keyboard makes a great case (kinda) for carrying, and I can't get enough of writing on the screen with the new pen. It's TOP SHELF! Battery life is great, and when it runs out it charges back up quick. The screen is just... I mean, the word 'awe' doesn't do it justice. It's a beauty! Can't recommend enough. Love this thing!
