I'll give some background: I play on a 49" TCL 5 series 4K TV. I tested out games such as Forza Horizon 4, Sea of Thieves, Rise of the Tomb Raider, NHL 19, Gears of War 4, Battlefield 1, Battlefield 5, The Witcher 3, and DOOM. Just some calibration tips for the TCL 5 TV; Picture: Brighter, Normal (or Vivid)/Advanced settings: Brightness up about 5 points, Contrast down about 5 points, Color up about 5 points, and sharpness set to 0./ Micro Contrast set to High. Now that that's all out of the way, I can say that initially the Xbox One X underwhelmed me. I then re-calibrated my TV and was pretty happy. Rise of the Tomb Raider looks nearly as good as the newly released Resident Evil 2 (remake), yet it came out 2 years ago. Gears of War 4 looks the most visually stunning out of them all. Forza Horizon 4 looks pretty ridiculously good. NHL 19 only looks slightly better. The Witcher 3 looks better and better in 4K the more you play it (beautiful work of art of a game, for real). I'm in the Blood and Wine area and it all looks great. DOOM at 60 FPS looks the best to me. The higher frame rate makes the visuals just excellent. I think if they can get the next systems to 4K @ 60 FPS, then it's going to be a gaming transformation. DOOM already accomplishes this--pretty amazing. I admit I'm not sure that it's worth the $400 to $500 (I paid $400) in terms of the visual difference, but if you calculate that a 4K graphics card for a PC is around $1,000 to $1,200 then there's not really much I can say. I'm getting a $1,000 value for only $400. For that reason, I've given it 5/5, There is a noticable difference with the only thing holding it back is my TV. I'm looking to get a Vizio P or Sony X900F down the line.

Never been much of a gamer, well at least since I was kid playing mario bro's on nintendo. Used to play some PC games years ago. Had a friend give me a PS2 and I played a couple games on that, also bought a Wii and played that a bit. Never really fell into any games and felt like I couldn't wait to play... well then in comes the xbox one x. I ended up buying this with my main plan to build a race sim rig... all I can say is I've become addicted, not just the racing games, but with FPS stuff too... The immersion, quality, speed, graphics, everything is just incredible. Only 1 thing I can say negative, is the load time on games, sitting waiting 2-3 minutes for Forza to load is a drag.. but there is an easy (but requires a few more $) fix.. get yourself a SSD drive and a usb3 case for it (I used a EVO860 500gb and inatec case), move your most played games to the ssd drive, and boom.. load times decrease drastically. Thats enuf typing, time to go play some games.

Thank you for sharing your experience with Xbox One X! We're glad that you're enjoying its powerful performance and great graphics, and we're happy that it's helped broaden your gaming horizons (no pun intended) as well. Investing in an external hard drive is an excellent suggestion, too, especially if you need extra storage space. We hope you have a lot of fun with your new Xbox console!

I'm an old guy that still loves gaming. Been playing video games since pong came out in the 70's. I've had many different systems over the years but none compares to the one x. I had a one s and decided to upgrade. Glad I did. Games like RDR 2 and ACO look amazing on my 65 inch Samsung qled. The 4k blu ray is a big plus also. Even my son in law said RDR 2 looked better on the x than his ps4 pro. Got this for 399 with Fallout 76. Sold my one s for a good price. The upgrade was well worth it to me. Don't get me wrong I liked the one s, but if your on the fence about getting this or upgrading I highly recommend the x. I've bought Microsoft products since the mid nineties, and will continue to do so. Thanks Microsoft for a great product like the Xbox One X.

I was late to the current gen console gaming since I am a PC gamer. The xbox one x is a fantastic game system, fairly intuitive web UI and some nice subscriptions you can use. It performs great with games that can use the extra power of the xbox one x if you turn on said feature in supported games. The controller is lovely although I did previously use for PC gaming. The only complaint I have is lack of better HDR gaming support and dolby vision support with certain TVs. This was a major selling point for me but I failed to do greater research to find only select manufacturers are supported via for HDR10 gaming and Dolby Vision. With that I do not use the xbox for movies that support dolby vision. There is some note Microsoft is working to resolve but it's been a good amount of time.

My 4K UHD Blu-ray player was starting to go bad, so I figure, why not kill 2 birds with 1 stone? I'm glad I picked this Xbox One X instead of just another stand alone 4K player again! I had an Xbox One S a few years ago, but sold it because of financial reasons. I do remember the visuals and the extra power the X has, really makes a huge difference in pretty much everything. I would recommend this to anyone looking at getting a 4K player! There is one current drawback though. Only certain LG and Sony TVs allow Dolby Vision to work through the Xbox One X and only for streaming. No Dolby Vision disc support. This isn't a huge deal because most 4K Blu-rays only utilize HDR10, while streaming services like iTunes and Vudu use Dolby Vision.

    Excellent Console for 4K Gaming

While the included game has its own drama, this review will focus on the console as this is technically, a Microsoft product and Bethesda's Fallout 76 is another story. The Xbox One X performs considerably better for gaming compared to the other Xbox One consoles in the lineup. If you just want decent Xbox One performance and UHD Blu Ray player, stick to the Xbox One S. If you want to enjoy 4K games in all of their glory, definitely spring for the Xbox One X. My only other advice is to research which free game you want with your console. The controller in this kit is also better than the generation of controllers prior. The button function is the same, but the molding of the grip feels better.

Look where else can you get a UHD blue ray player and gaming system with a game for 399 bucks? I’m not even going to go in to how amazing the games look because if you just want to play games and care about graphics you’d be buying a PC. For console gaming at 399 bucks this is a must have. I own the PS4 pro and this thing is noticeably better. And to top it off has the UHD blue ray player that the Pro does not. Bottom line: if you own a 4K high definition tv. Buy this system and use the game pass free month. Download the Forza game FOR FREE and you’ll be glad you got this system. I’m a Sony fan and PlayStation can’t touch this machine right now.

I have not owned an XBOX since the 360. I bought this one a couple of days ago, because it has the "true 4k" picture. The picture is amazing. I have only played Forza on it and it is very responsive. I like the GUI. I wish the controller was the same size as the PS4 controller. I also wish the the controller was rechargeable. Why do we have to buy rechargeable battery packs separately? Come on MicroShaft!! FYI - Make sure you set this system up with some spare time on your hands. Don't expect to play a game within a few minutes. You have to download system updates and game updates before you can actually play a game.

I purchased the bundle with the Fallout game — I had my reservations at first due to the price and I used to game when I had a 360, so wasn’t sure if I’d be getting the full experience; but I’ve gotten back into gaming hard and it’s any main media hub. It’s beautiful picture. And to top it off 6 months free interest with the Best Buy card - can’t beat that! I was debating on Xbox one x vs xbox one s and I’m very happy with my decision to go with the X. Happy Gaming! Oh and I did the research, Best Buy has the best price.

Bought this when it was on sale for 100 dollars less than MSRP. The Xbox one X is a nice system to use, especially when you have a 4K tv as your display. It not only plays games, but it’s also a nice media streaming center with Netflix, Hulu, hbo, YouTube, etc. And if you want to have that smart home experience, this Xbox can also sync with amazon Alexa; asking Alexa to turn the Xbox on or off. That’s a bit over the top but it’s nice to know that the feature exists. Overall, I recommend it WHEN the price is on sale

Coming from an Xbox One S, the move to true 4k is stunning. Games such as Assassin's Creed Odyssey and Forza Horizon 4 look incredible. The X is a noticeable upgrade from the S in graphics and overall system performance. Gone is the lag of simply navigating my S console. I upgraded later in the console cycle but couldn't be more happy with the decision, especially since Microsoft sweetened the deal with a price drop. I sold Fallout 76 online to save a few more dollars on the price.

If you have a 4K television then this console is a must have over the standard version. The Xbox One X can play some games in 4K and the performance has been enhanced overall. I would recommend taking advantage of the sale price that's going on right now to get this system for $400 which is $100 less than it normally is. Fallout 76 is a pretty standard game but the real value here is in the Xbox One X console, this is a great value. Also perfect for watching 4K movies

This is a very nice add for a 4k tv for movie watching and 4k gaming! Setup is very simple overall once you get used to the UI. Gamepass is a nice add! Dolby Vision support is highly limited in terms of TV support, may want to research if your TV supports it. Seems to be Sony TVs and certain LG brands. Opting out of beta programs for some games was an interesting task. Research and be patient! Otherwise a fantastic gaming system coming from a PC gamer it is a good add!

The Xbox One X is a fantastic console. I've always been a Sony guy, and will continue to support them, but I'm also a person who likes his kids to have access to the best looking games on the market. I opted for the One X over the PS4 Pro for a few reasons. The full 4k output tops the list, but also having the ability to play UHD BluRay was a big part of that decision. So until the next-gen console war, most of my game purchases will be for the One X.

I picked this guy up on sale for 699. Huge upgrade from my last PC I bought at that price. It plays all my games I couldn't play previously and looks fantastic. The flaws are that it picks up fingerprints very easily, the sound is kind of wonky but I don't blast music so that's not a big deal and the battery life is about 2 hours of use which once again isn't a deal breaker for me. Bottom line up front its a great gaming laptop if you are on a tight budget.

I was in the market for a 4K player and I have an original Xbox One. When I first loaded up a game it was actually faster. When I played 2 games there was a noticeable difference in picture quality as well. The enhanced games I tried were very awesome as well. I didn’t think this would be worth it. I was WRONG. If you are thinking of getting one and have a 4K tv it’s a must. It got me back to playing Xbox One games.

The Xbox One X is the best console for UHD 4K movie viewing and gaming. 4K Blu Ray playback is great as an added plus. With consoles it comes down to your taste in exclusive games and I am not excited by any of the companies exclusives so it was an easy choice. Only bought the Fallout 76 version because it was the ONLY package with $100 off. Thanks Bethesda for releasing a crappy game and saving me some cash!

I purchased the Fallout 76 bundle a couple months ago. I traded in my old console and paid about $360.00 for everything, that’s pretty good since an XBox one X goes for $499.00. I’m not real a Fallout fan so I gave the game to my son. He played it a couple of times and uninstalled it, he said the game was terrible. So if you don’t mind getting Fallout 76 for free, this is a pretty good deal.

Picked up this unit a couple of days before Christmas while it was on sale. I've been playing Fallout 76 since yesterday and I must say, the graphics and performance of this console are the best I have ever seen from a console. However, I'd definitely recommend a 4k panel to go with it to get the best experience. So far so good with this unit, will update review if I encounter any issues.
