The MOZA R3 completely changed my racing setup. The force feedback feels smooth and detailed, way better than any gear-driven wheel I used before. The build quality is solid with metal parts that make it feel premium. Setup on Xbox and PC was simple, and the software gives full control of feedback strength and pedal sensitivity. The pedals respond fast and the steering stays tight during long races. For the price, it performs like a much higher-end kit. I recommend it to anyone moving up from a Logitech or Thrustmaster wheel.

If you're looking for a great beginner direct drive wheel, this is the one for you. The feedback is great if you're just dipping your toe into the Racing Sim world. The pedals are sturdy and I appreciate the ability to adjust the positioning of the pedals. It was pretty easy to set-up and the clamps make it more versatile to either clamp onto an existing desk or if you have a rig already, to screw into the rig.

Moza R3 Wheel Bundle - A Game Changer

I've always been a fan of racing games, more arcade than sims, my favorites being Forza, Dirt, and F1, so I was looking forward to getting my hands on the Moza R3 Wheelbase and pedals to give it a proper run. The R3 is an entry level setup that I setup on my Gaming PC. My very first run with it I was blown away at the impact it had on my racing games. The force feedback is incredible.
Design/Build/Unboxing
Even though it's deemed as entry level, the R3 will exceed your expectations with it's build quality and black aluminum casing. It's surprisingly compact too so it's great for small to medium size desks, and easy to stow away when you're done. The box comes with a base, steering wheel (ES Lite), heavy duty table clamp (I clamped mine to my desk), a power adapter with cord, USB Cable, the necessary tools/screws/wrench/bolts, and accelerator and brake pedals (SR-P Lite) on an industrial metal base. The whole setup feels solid and sturdy. The buttons have a soft feel to them, not very tactile but enough travel. The wheel has a quick release that makes it easy to pop off for wheel swaps or storage. The back of the wheel has left/right paddle shifters. The clamp feels solid, just make sure you tighten it up well, my wife leaned down on the wheel and I realized I needed to tighten up a bit. The whole setup feels premium, you will be impressed. Setup took me about 30 to 40 minutes but experienced racers will probably be up in about 15 to 20.
Specs/Features
There's an R3 direct drive wheelbase with a 3.9 Nm of torque servo motor. The wheel attaches directly to the motor which helps feedback. It cools well, I didn't feel any heat. The wheelbase has a full range of steering rotation but it's basically dependent on what the game allows. It's plug & play so it basically works right out of the box. There are ports on the back of the steering wheel and include plenty of inputs for add-ons if you want to add-on a clutch pedal, E-brake, shifter, etc. The ES steering wheel has 22 programmable buttons including Xbox buttons. There are LED's at the top of the wheel that light up when you turn the power on. They can be used for RPM and shifting. The pedals are throttle and brake and they both use Hall effect sensors for input which should help with accuracy and precision. They both have a great feel with factory settings. I'm on carpet so I didn't even have to bolt mine down. They're heavy enough that they didn't slide on me.
Software & Mobile App
One of the things I really liked about the MOZA R3 is the software that comes with it. On my PC, I downloaded the Pit House app, and it was straightforward to install. The first time I opened it, I saw all the settings laid out clearly, and it didn’t feel overwhelming. I could adjust the force feedback strength, damping, and rotation angle pretty easily. I tried a few presets just to see the difference, and it was cool to feel how quickly the wheel changed. For example, one preset made the wheel heavier and another made it lighter, so I could find a middle ground that felt right for me. The software also lets you set up different profiles for different games. I saved one for Assetto Corsa and one for Forza Horizon, so I don’t have to mess with settings every time I switch. Updating the firmware was simple too; the app told me there was an update and walked me through it in a couple clicks. I liked that I could also fine-tune the pedals, adjusting the sensitivity so the throttle and brake responded the way I wanted. The Mobile App is solid. I downloaded it on my phone just to try it out, and it connected to the wheelbase without any issues. The app shows the same kind of options as the PC software, which means I can change things while sitting on the couch or even while in-game. It’s nice not to have to alt-tab out of a race just to tweak something. The mobile app doesn’t feel stripped down, it’s basically a second screen for all the main settings. For someone like me who doesn’t always want to boot up the PC software, it’s convenient. Everything saved correctly, and the changes showed up instantly on the wheel. Overall, the software and mobile app make the R3 feel complete. They’re easy to use, not too complicated, and give me you just enough control to get the wheel dialed in. I had no problems figuring things out even though it was my first Moza wheel.
Performance
I’ve been using the MOZA R3 for about a week, and it’s been a fun ride. The force feedback feels smooth compared to my old wheel. Small bumps and surface changes come through clearly. I spent most of my time in Assetto Corsa and Forza Horizon 5. Both felt good after a little tuning. The wheel shines in sims where grip and curb detail matter. Rumble strips give a firm kick without being harsh. In fast corners I can feel when the tires start to let go. That cue helps me catch slides sooner. The 3.9 Nm of torque isn’t crazy but it’s plenty for me. After long stints my forearms feel a little tired. The wheel runs very quiet, which I love. Counter-steer responses are instant with no lag I can notice. Road texture feels natural. The pedals felt light at first, especially the brake. After a couple of days I adapted to their feel. The brake performance kit will help with that. Without hard mounting the pedals can shift under hard braking but I didn't have an issue. A board or rig solves that, which you can add if necessary. Throttle input is smooth. I had no disconnects or weird glitches all week. The base only got slightly warm during long sessions. In Forza I lowered center force and added a touch of damping to stop any wobble. In ACC it felt more accurate and consistent through long runs. Your lap times will definitely drop because of this setup. One thing to note is depending on the game, setup can be easy or difficult. I would advise you to go to the Moza website to get step by step instructions for each game, which they comprehensively provide.
Pros
* Smooth Direct Drive FFB: Force feedback is clear and detailed
* Bundle gives you exactly what you need to race right away
* Outstanding Build Quality, very little plastic
* Upgradeable ecosystem
* Moza has great software support
* Works on PC & Xbox
Needs Improvement/Suggestions
* Higher end users might want more torque
* Wheel is a tad small
* Buttons don't have tactile feedback
* They should continue to add more supported games
After a week with the MOZA R3, I can honestly say I’d recommend it. The jump from a gear-driven wheel to this direct drive setup felt huge for me. I’m getting more detail in the force feedback than I ever thought I would in the entry level category. The bundle gave me everything I needed to start racing, so I didn’t have to buy extras. That alone makes it easy to suggest for beginners. The wheelbase is small but strong, and it fits well on a desk. I never had issues with it disconnecting or getting too hot. The wheel itself is simple but works just fine for long sessions. I think the pedals are decent, even though the brake is on the softer side. For casual sim racing, the stock pedals will still get the job done. I can see some people wanting more torque or stronger brakes, but those usually cost way more. For me this is an exceptional value with excellent performance. It gave me more confidence on the track and actually helped me drive better. I don’t feel like I’m missing out on much compared to higher end setups. If you’re brand new to sim racing, this is a perfect place to start. It’s not perfect, but no setup at this price is. Overall, I’d recommend the MOZA R3 to almost anyone who wants a serious wheel setup without spending a fortune. Highly Recommended.

I’ve been wanting to get into sim racing on PC for a while and had my eye on different wheel bundles that would work with the games I already play like Forza Motorsport and Assetto Corsa. I was about to pull the trigger on the Logitech G923 wheel bundle when I was blessed with the opportunity to get the Moza R3 instead. Needless to say, I was extremely excited, and after doing some more research, I realized just how much of a step up this bundle really was.
When the Moza wheel bundle arrived, the unboxing experience was even better than I anticipated. It was packaged neatly and securely, and as I pulled out the steering wheel, wheelbase, and pedals, I immediately knew this wasn’t just another mid-tier kit. It had a premium feel with solid build quality throughout. Everything needed to get started was included, which was great.
Now, I’ll be honest, this wasn’t a straight “plug-and-play” for me. Yes, you can connect everything and start racing right away, but to really get the immersive sim racing experience, you have to spend some time dialing in the settings. I invested several hours just tweaking and tuning to my liking after watching a couple sim racing youtube videos, but it was time well spent.
Moza makes this process easier with access to their Moza Pit House app for Windows and a companion mobile app. Both work hand in hand to help you fine-tune every little detail, from road feel to bump vibrations and steering torque. The apps are very intuitive, and once I got comfortable with them, making adjustments became second nature.
And let me just say, the direct drive wheel base is awesome! It’s quiet, compact, and delivers incredibly realistic force feedback. The torque output feels natural, like driving a real car. But be careful letting kids use it because if you crash in game, the wheel will spin hard with force (I learned this the fun way early on). Once I had my settings dialed in though, I was hooked. Hours would go by and I wouldn’t want to stop racing. Even better, the wheel base never overheated or got noisy, which speaks to its quality design.
The only minor gripe I have is that the wheel button controls don’t fully map to in game menus. A few buttons work, but not all of them as I would like. It could be user error, but so far I haven’t found a way to make the D-pad or some of the X, Y, A, B buttons function across all my games. It’s not a dealbreaker, but worth mentioning.
A few Quick Setup Starter tips (For New Moza or beginner sim racers like me )
Since this was my first direct drive kit, I know how overwhelming it can feel right out of the box. I included some screenshots of my personal base settings I use in Forza Motorsport.
Here’s also starter guide I wish I had when I first set mine up, it’ll save you some trial and error.
1. Software & Apps
Moza Pit House (Windows): Your control hub for calibration, firmware, and tuning. Have this open when gaming for in game tweaks.
Moza Mobile App (iOS/Android): Lets you tweak settings on the fly without leaving your game.
2. Calibration Basics
Wheel Centering: Run the calibration in Pit House so the wheel knows its “true center.”
Pedals: Start with linear throttle/brake curves, then adjust later as you get comfortable.
Force Feedback Safety: Stick to default torque until you’re used to the power. Direct drive is no joke.
3. Base Settings (Forza Motorsport)
Steering Angle: 900°
FFB Strength: ~70%
Road Feel: 50%
Damper: 10%
ABS Feedback: 40%
4. Base Settings (Assetto Corsa)
Steering Angle: 900°
Gain: 65–70%
Road Effects: 20–25%
Slip Effects: 10–15%
Damping: 10%
Pro tip: Save different profiles per car in Assetto Corsa for the most realistic results.
5. Extra Tips
Mount it securely. The torque will shake a wobbly desk.
Save profiles often. Once you nail the feel, lock it in.
Tweak slowly. Change one setting at a time to learn what works best.
Final Thoughts
After spending time with the Moza R3 bundle, I can confidently say this wheel set is worth picking up if you’re serious about sim racing. It’s compact, quiet, and delivers a truly immersive experience once you take the time to dial in your settings. The force feedback feels incredibly realistic, the build quality is solid, and while the menu button mapping could use some improvement, it doesn’t take away from the overall experience.
For someone coming from zero sim racing gear to a direct drive system, the Moza R3 has set the bar high. Once you’re tuned in, you’ll be off to the races and won’t want to quit.

This is one of the best steering wheels I have ever owned. I have had various known brands, most of which are already good. But this Moza R3 steering wheel has delivered for me, from box-opening to actual play.
HARDWARE
Straight from the box, I already felt the quality in its components:
1) The steering wheel – The texture of the wheel is perfect. The feel on the hands and the grip is comfortable. The size is standard and the buttons on the wheel are evenly spaced that I do not have to worry about reaching too far in to press any of the buttons.
2) The drive is very stable. it takes the steering wheel on in a snap without any slack. You cannot go wrong on the installation as the metal nodes are asymmetrical. One of the better things is that in as much as the steering wheel fits perfectly in the shaft, it can easily be removed too.
3) The pedals have enough weight to keep the platform upright. The build is very sturdy and the steel used on it is tough. The pedals are fully adjustable, so I was able to move the left pedal closer to the right for a more natural right foot feel; though at times I do have to place my left foot on the platform to keep it stable. It has a provision to add a third pedal for clutch. The weight is good enough though to keep it in place without having to bolt it on a plywood which I used to do for other steering wheel brands. This is great because I do not have a real proper permanent sim station so I can use situate the pedals without having to permanently affix them just to use them. The pedal rides feel a little thick and heavy to step on by default but there are settings in the calibration that can change the response which I will get to in a bit.
4) The pieces and components are all high quality. The screws to attach the drive to the clamps are firm once they are installed. The clamps are sturdy on my 2 inch thick desk, even on near crash panic. The cables and wires snap on in place without wiggle. One of the things I also love about this system, as I would call it is the upgradeability as it has provisions for clutch, dashboard connection, shift stick, handbrake and more when I need to upgrade them.
SOFTWARE
The software has two components, the Moza pit which an easily be installed on my PC, and the mobile app which is Bluetooth enabled.
The Moza Pit is the main tool for full usability, not just for tweaks but for game launches. The mobile app is for tweaks on the fly without me having to alt-tab out in the middle of a race qualifier just to update the right steer weight or the travel.
Customization is mind-blowing and every bit can be done in the Moza Pit. From calibrations to specific tweaks on how I want the steering to feel, to button mapping and even pedal step calibration. And these are very important because my pedals do not hit 100% acceleration from the box—I need to make sure my stepping weight and curves allow me to hit it at full throttle of else I will think I am on full car capacity when I am just stepping at 98%. There are some noticeable language barriers like when I was calibrating the pedals, it was asking me to “Finish” calibration when the on-screen button says “End”. For the most part, they should be self-explanatory and not really bothersome.
The game launch is very important, especially that it has automatic presets I can save per game. The good thing though is there are ready settings per game, two of which I use easily—Asseto Corsa and Forza 5. I can easily launch them from the Pit and it corresponds (and can be set up) from the path. E.g. My Asseto Corsa launches from Steam and Forza from another path.
PERFORMANCE
Once the whole thing is set up and tweaked, everything is precise, at least for me as a casual sim racer. The feedback on the steering wheel is so good, it even changes based on the car I use (e.g. An Ae86 vs. a GT3). Though I know I can easily tweak them on the fly too using the mobile app, I usually would trust the game settings. The wheel return is perfect and the haptics are very realistic, from running out of the tarmac to sliding out of the racing line. The buttons are so easy to use too, not to mention the response and clicks on the paddle shifters.
I did notice a loss in software settings load, like I started a race and do not see my Moza Pit respond (the Moza pit dashboard animates how the wheel moves) and the drive feel is non-existent—all I had to do was reboot the wheel. It could have been a loading problem in my game but it is an easy troubleshoot to get back to full functionality, and it only happened once; perhaps for me using this as a newb.
Overall, the R3 PC package is great. Upgradeability is good but this exact package makes it perfect for me as a casual sim racer without having to put in too many components to fill my need to drive. The real flexibility is not in the ability to upgrade but in the flexibility to use this as-is and enjoy it, or if I want to go full-on when my man cave is ready, I can easily purchase the add-ons. This is the perfect basic combination to start and I recommend this to anyone who loves that sim feel without the hassle. I would have to warn you though, you might get hooked because I am already planning my full sim cage! Good job Moza.

Impressive Force Feedback – Unbeatable Value

I’ve been chasing a really good force feedback wheel for ages, and the Moza Racing R3 Direct Drive Wheel and Pedal Bundle is getting seriously close to nailing it. I've spent a good chunk of time with it, using it with Forza Horizon 5, BeamNG, Assetto Corsa, and other similar games, and I'm genuinely blown away by the experience.
The build quality is incredible – this thing is built like a tank! It’s almost entirely metal, which is a means it can take a serious beating, and the pedals feel incredibly solid and well-made. What’s particularly brilliant is the ability to move the pedals around – you can move their position to suit your preference or if you wish to add the clutch pedal. Plus, they’re adjustable, allowing you to dial in the resistance and feel exactly how you want it. It’s a huge detail that elevates the whole experience.
The precision is fantastic. I've been using it with a bunch of different games, and the responsiveness is just phenomenal. What really sets this apart is the sheer number of button configurations you can set up. I've been digging around in the software, and it's got options I haven’t seen on any other wheel I’ve used – it's a serious customization dream for anyone who likes to tweak their setup. It’s genuinely impressive. And the quickswap wheel feature is brilliant – swapping it out for different games is ridiculously fast. Plus, the ports for adding a clutch and shifter are a huge bonus, and it's super easy to attach it to whatever surface you’ve got – my desk, a table, even a racing seat setup!
Now, about the force feedback. Honestly, some of the best I’ve ever experienced. The rumble and vibrations are incredibly detailed, and it really makes you feel the road and the impacts. It’s genuinely immersive. Be it gravel or a bump, you'll feel it. The intensity is of course adjustable as well.
However, and this is a big ‘however,’ the software isn’t quite perfect. It’s fairly straightforward to use and lets you tweak everything to your liking, but it has a bit of a glitch. Specifically, it seems to have a weird issue with Forza Horizon 5. Launching the game reliably can be a bit of a gamble – sometimes it works flawlessly, other times it just crashes the app. It’s frustrating, but not a deal-breaker. And I am fairly certain that Moza will iron out the issues with updates and fixes. In the meantime, I recommend closing the app while gaming. It alleviated the problem quite a bit.
Also, you need to make sure your USB port can handle the power draw. I had to switch to a USB 3.0 port on my PC, because the standard USB 2.0 just wasn’t cutting it.
Overall, considering the performance, build quality, and the incredible value, this is probably the best deal I’ve ever seen in a direct drive wheel. It’s a phenomenal experience for the price. Despite the Horizon 5 issue, I wholeheartedly recommend it.

Tons of fun once you get it set up right

First things first. I’ve learned this wheel set is an introduction to simulation hardware much more than a plug it in and play sort of deal. There are a lot of settings to tweak and customize. I’ve spent more time configuring and troubleshooting than I have playing, so I'm docking a star.
When I initially assembled and connected the R3 to my PC, I was excited that it fired right up and appeared ready to go on my first try. I updated the firmware, did the calibrations, etc. I started playing Assetto Corsa Competizione and about 2 minutes after starting, the wheel disconnects. This happened a few times. I double checked the installation instructions included with it and I had done everything step by step as indicated. The phrase “connect the USB cable to an available port on your PC.” is what the instructions say. After searching around for troubleshooting information, I found that Moza recommends the wheel be plugged into a USB port directly on the motherboard. I found the only way to stop the disconnects on my rig was to plug directly to one of the USB 2.0 ports. I don’t think this is a Moza issue. I think it’s a glaring illustration of how bad USB implementation is, even on a $400 mobo like this one. Perhaps Moza might want to say this right up front, it might save some headaches. If you have USB 2.0 on your system, use that port. There is no advantage to using a USB 3 port, and you’ll likely encounter disconnects. The other troubleshooting step that might be of use – the troubleshooting information also says you should plug the power supply directly into the wall, not a power strip or surge suppressor. Once I did these two things, I haven’t had the random drops.
Also, I can not give any impression of the mobile app. It requires an account before you can use it. I opened it, saw that and deleted the app. I understand the desire for consumer lock-in, and of course having an account will allow you to move settings across units, which is the justification I’ve seen. That’s shenanigans and they know it. There is not a technical reason for creation of an account.
The included USB cable was too short, so I bought a long one that has ferrite sleeves like the Moza provided one and have had no issues (as long as it’s on the motherboard USB 2!).
Ok then.
I’ve used a competitor's steering wheel and control set with Farm Simulator. They feel like and operate like toys, and they’re cheap, the buttons are sloppy. A toy.
For the same price, the Moza R3 is an entirely different experience. Aluminum, steel, and high quality plastics. The wheel mount is a heavy chonk, substantial and solid. The wheel itself has a very solid build, with nice soft-touch foam on the grip. The wheel connects to the base with a stable quick-connect mechanism that allows you to use other wheels.
The pedal set is also rock solid, without slack in the hinge or pedal travel and a nice bit of resistance when at the stop, and a cool little push up to 100% when you smash it harder. I have ordered the brake pedal kit from Moza, which is supposed to make the brake pedal offer more realistic resistance.
The Moza Pit House software is quick, polished and full featured. There are adjustments and settings galore, even for this entry level wheel. The only problem I’ve had with Pit House is when trying to use the “Recovery” option, it returns an error about firmware, so I imagine that’s a bug that will be worked on in the future. No complaints here!
My times in ACC and Forza Motorsport are now dismal, I’m awful in all of my driving games now, and it’s great! The feeling of the track through the wheel and my wheel stand really amp up the realism. I’m finding so much more information about the surface while I’m driving, if I run over some gravel on the left side, I can feel it, then clearly feel the gravel coming off my tires as it gradually clears. I had no idea how immersive it can be after years of playing with a controller. The tiny little movements as the wheel responds to the track are sharp and detailed, offering so much more feedback. The wheel’s ability to create a stop as if it were a fixed stop on a real wheel is uncanny. You can set how many turns lock-to-lock, and like magic, a different driving experience. I am excited about the new life and challenges available in my driving games.
The hardware is top-notch, the software is good. While wheels from the big peripheral name in this market space have been more plug n play, they are also not at the same level of hardware quality and refinement. The Moza R3’s pricing is surprisingly competitive, I didn’t imagine we could get such nice equipment for such a low price.
Understand when you buy this thing, it's going to take some familiarization, but with some time, the rewards are worth it.
What an insane value, I’m a new fan.

Amazing Sim racing bundle. I'm so happy Moza produced a reasonible priced bundled and direct driven at that for us PC gamers!
Came very well packed and I was surprised to see that the pedals were ready to go, I was expecting putting them together but no. They include the break and gas pedals (you can add a clutch pedal later if you want). The wheel and the direct drive motor. Finally a desk clamp. They also include several nuts and bolts and a very basic quick start guide. Here is my only CON. The quick start guide is so bare in terms how to install everything and doesn't even mention what bolts are for what. I had to watch a video to figure out only 4 bolts and washers were needed to attach the motor to the desk clamp. All the other nuts and bolts are more for if you want to attach the stuff to a base or one of those cop kits and add more pedals and stuff.
Once had everything installed, I plugged the USB cable to my PC and the power brick to a power outlet. It came alive, you can start setting it up using your phone downloading their app and it connects via Bluetooth, however this is not a must, if you want you can skip that and just download their PC app, which I did. Once opened, it activated my device and then warned me I had to run a calibration of the pedals and wheel and centering. There was also a firmware update (bug fixes) for the hardware itself, this took a bit to do but its worth it. Then I was onto the races (pun intended).
WOW! Hands down the best racing kit I have owned. I've had some of the popular ones out there that were belt drive, and I must say, direct drive is where is at. I could feel every little bit of over and understeer, the torque everything! Its just able to communicate to the driver much more than a belt driven kit. Powerful too, it was rattling my stuff on my desk, so I'm definitely going to get one of those foldable metal frames to put out and away when racing (don't have the space for a full on copkit yet).
The software is amazing and well done and it will autodetect also any racing games you have installed and will auto configure them for you if you want it so. You can also add and configure more things to the kit easily, like a clutch pedal, a manual shift pole, dashboard etc and they all just connect directly to the motor on the back (granted you get them from Moza for this R3 kit, as addons). I'm planning on getting a clutch pedal and a shifter for sure, because I'm old school lol, I love me so heel and toe' action!
This is be most reasonably priced direct drive kit I have seen out there for PC, so just get it, its built like a tank and quality is incredible!

The Moza Racing - R3 Direct Drive Wheel and Pedal Bundle for PC – Black is top of the line for the operation of driver games. Opening the box and feeling the sturdy and heavy quality material used to make it is impressive. The wheel is durable enough to last for years. When I plugged in the wheel, the Moza pit house app automatically began to download. Moza pit house allowed me to customize the wheel to my best comfort level for driving. Also, with pit house, I can launch automatically any owned game straight from the pit house. The Moza Racing - R3 Direct Drive Wheel and Pedal Bundle for PC – Black is more of a driving simulator than a driving video game, even though it can be used for both. Real life driving skills can be learned with use of the Moza Racing Wheel.
The R3 base gives the wheel force feedback, which is the feeling of realistic wheel pressure when driving. Haptic feedback is also included to produce the life like feelings of wheel vibration. The pedals include the accelerator and brake for the automatic driving system, but I can purchase the clutch to connect with the extra port and plug available to have a manual driving system. There are two paddle shifters behind the wheel to change the gears the same way as a clutch up shifts and down shift gears. The response time is immediate, after setting up calibration settings. The wheel operates perfectly and poses no physical problems, but it would be nice to have a tutorial for settings to clear up confusion on the base settings. Base settings eventually require tweaking to get optimum player experiences. With no knowledge how to do it, I had to go online to find videos explaining what I needed to do. Besides that small mishap, I see myself having hours of fun every week using the Moza Racing - R3 Direct Drive Wheel and Pedal Bundle for PC – Black.

Great introductory Sim Bundle at a great price

I think everybody has played some type of racing game. Whether on a handheld, console, home computer or arcade. The idea of grabbing a controller or simulated wheel and going is great fun.
There are levels to this and there is a massive leap from those basic "steer left or right" wheels that are glorified controllers to real setups that push to be like driving a real vehicle with appropriate torque, tactile feedback and pinpoint controls.
I have always either used basic wheels or arcade machines at most (think Mario Cart or Pole Position type games) so for me this is my first foray into a "real" introductory racing sim setup and as I found out my expectations were low and jaded resulting in being very happy and impressed. During the setup and conferring with a more seasoned sim rig using friend, I learned some new jargon and how serious this stuff can be. For the record, I am what I would call a, "Novice level 0." Keep that in mind.
The box is surprisingly heavy but the bulk of the weight comes from the packaging material and the wheelbase. Inside is a very compact, easy to set up starter rig that uses a clamp to attach to a desk or table and then you attach your wheelbase and then wheel, run some lines down to the pre-assembled pedals, connect to your PC and off you go. Setup took about 15 minutes and it was more figuring out how to run the cables and positioning than anything. I like the easy to disconnect cables and the two clamp system so if you're using it on your main desk, you can detach it in less than a minute and put it away if your setup is dual purpose while leaving everything else hooked up and ready to go.
Ergonomically speaking, the wheel and the pedals (throttle and brake) are a bit smaller than I would like. I am a big guy that always finds myself cramming my chassis in bus seats and cars. I have a wide gait, very wide shoulders and wear size 14 4E shoes. My hands, in the words of my daughter, are gargantuan (thanks?) so my perspective is different than most. My adult 5'3" daughter found the wheel and pedals perfectly sized.
Build wise, everything feels and works well. I like that the pedal assembly is one piece, metal, sturdy and uses the grip/pull of the floor/rug to lock down and stay in place. For the price, I was really happy with the overall build quality especially coming off generic left/right grade wheels. This was way above them in every aspect of the word.
My friend recommended F1 25 and Forza Horizon 5 to really test it out as those are his two current games he plays obsessively to give me real feedback but first I wanted to try and play with a keyboard, then controller then finally the R3 to compare and contrast.
I also found out that the display and PC you use also can make or break your experience too.
I decided to use my laptop (275hx and 5070ti) and a spare 60hz 4k display and that lasted less than an hour for a few reasons namely resolution, 60fps tops and the 5070ti struggling at 4k. I next switched to an Asus 1440p 32" 165hz display but again the play wasn't smooth (in the words of my friend, it was trash). Finally, I just decided to hook it up to my primary desktop with a 9800X3D + 5090 and Alienware 32" 4k 240hz OLED and just like that play was to a proper smoothness and performance level and then some.
As for play comparison, keyboard and mouse were terrible. I do not know how anybody can enjoy playing any racing sim with them. I say this as as true KBM enthusiast. Using an Xbox controller, it was actually very playable and fun and if I did not have a steering rig setup I would have been more than content but switching to the Moza R3? Wow!
The feedback was incredible on turns or even lane shifts. You feel everything and some of those turns and feeling the wheel fighting back was amazing. Having full control over throttle and braking was incredible and I spent the next few hours going, "whoa!" "wow!' "Uh Oh!" as what I could kind of maneuver with a controller the R3 gave no mercy as it provided a much more real racing experience. My friend and I took turns going back and forth and after about 30min of adjusting to my gear he was dusting me left and right. I plan on practicing and figuring out a portable, proper rig so we can race against each other on site.
Maybe it was the heat of the 5090 turning my room into a sauna, but I actually found myself breaking a real sweat playing with all the added extra physicality now involved. I don't know if I can go back to controllers again. If you've ever been to an arcade and sat in one of the racing game sims that has real feedback and control, the R3 is like that but even better.
My daughter really likes driving games, so I let her take a crack at it and she proceeded to play for the next 3 hours and loved it. For her, the wheel and pedals are the perfect size. I just had to get her a lower chair so she could properly work the pedals. She has been playing on it way more than I have and I have a feeling I will be setting it up for her sooner than later she loves it that much.
The only complaints I have (and my friend agreed) is the wheel could use a touch more torque. He had to dial back his response and as someone who has never used a direct feedback system, I had to back off a bit too as I could overpower it. I learned over the last few days to correlate the onscreen action with the feedback and respond accordingly. On the other hand, my daughter thought it was plenty powerful and had a full fight on her hands on some of those miscalculated turns. He is used to his Logitech G Pro as it has almost 3x the torque. After spending a few days with the R3, I had a chance to try out his rig and it is much better torque wise and I had a better battle on hand but it is also almost 5x as expensive as the R3 and I didn't feel it gave the same value.
The other issue is again the size of the steering wheel. I wish it was a bit bigger closer to a standard car wheel than its current size. And yet again, my daughter found it very properly sized.
But overall? Color me impressed. For the price, you are getting the perfect introductory sim racing setup giving you all the basics you need that is easy to assemble and is miles ahead of basic "left / right" wheels on the market. It is a perfectly priced gateway setup into the world of real sim racing. For my needs, even in light of its few shortcomings, I plan on using this setup when able to work on my very poor racing sim skills and enjoy every minute of it.

This is a very small use case for people but as someone who has recently ditched Windows for Linux I needed hardware that was compatible to help me along the way. The drivers for this are built into Linux and Boxflat app is a nice replacement for Pithouse for what I need. Also, the mobile app works even though it's a bit buggy. The hardware is alright. My T150 stopped turning on so it's a great upgrade from that. I'm using VR for this using alvr on CachyOS. I do recommend getting the brake mod. I am a very casual player. I bust out my sim rig from the closet when I'm in the mood and then when I'm burnt out I put it back for a month or two. Even with that I bought the brake mod. The base being direct drive is way smoother than the gear and belt system. I don't feel any cogging in the wheel and it's super quiet. I mounted the wheel to a cheap wheel stand and I had to drill holes to get it working. I could only get two hole drilled because of a bar underneath the wheel deck but two screws was enough to get it mounted solid. It's nice and light and the 3.9 nm is more than I need tbh. The instructions could be better and the font could be a little larger for people with degraded vision. That's it.

Superb Racing Wheel

It's been a few years since I owned a racing wheel and I have to say I've never owned one that works as well as this one. I wasn't familiar with the brand, but in researching it, it has a lot of customizable parts for tension, clutch, capability, etc that gets the gaming driving experience closer to reality.
Packaging and construction:
To start, it's packaged well, and it's surprisingly heavy. The pedals are metal, the motor and wheel while shrouded in plastic definitely feel to be metal underneath with the weight associated. The clamps are good and well made, also metal. They are widely adjustable so they should fit most desks, even odd shapes or thick or thin desks.
Usage:
Zero issues getting it up and running, instantly recognized without having to get creative with it. Loaded up Beam.ng Drive and the experience is incredible. The tension on the wheel feels next to real, I feel like the response from the game is a lot less video-game-y than wheels I've had in the past where it feels like you have to either turn the wheel too far or not far enough to get response from the car. The feedback is excellent and well supported. The feedback from the wheel itself including the lighting is useful when supported. The pedal distance between them can even be adjusted.
Overall:
If you're looking for a truly premium racing wheel feel with customizability and adjustability then this is the ticket.

High quality entry sim racing rig to grow with.

This Moza R3 bundle is an impressive entry into the world of sim racing. It’s a modular system that offers high quality metal construction with a silent and responsive motor, a lot of tunability options, and is recognized by most of the popular sim racing games (Forza Motorsport, Assetto Corso Competizione, F1 2024, etc..). However, while it’s almost immediately playable in those games, there’s a bit more to setup in terms of steering wheel button mapping. Fortunately there’s a lot of button options and it’s a relatively simple process, but only a few of them come pre-programmed. The crucial items like the steering wheel, paddle shifters, and pedals work right off the bat though, so can also get right to gaming. There’s a lot to like here, but I’m going to focus on a few big standouts.
Direct Drive vs Belt Driven
I’ve heard about the advantages of direct drive vs belt systems and some might be harder to notice than others, but what does stand out is how quiet it is. There’s no kind of gear noise that I have in my belt drive system. It seems like a small detail, but that sound really takes away from the simulation experience because it reminds you that you’re playing a game. The motor is completely silent and I greatly appreciate that.
Modular Components
The steering wheel is detachable, there’s a lot of reasonably priced accessories available (clutch pedal, pedal springs, other wheels, hand brake, sequential shifters, gate shifters, dash display, etc..), and the absolute best part is that upgraded motors are compatible with the same accessories so you can gradually build up your rig without losing your investment. That’s a big deal and part of why I’m so impressed by this kit. It might be entry level, but it’s one that you can legitimately grow with and build on. If you’re new to sim racing or just want to make racing games more fun, the R3 kit has you covered. And if you realize you love sim racing and want to get deeper into it, you can build your kit up as your budget and commitment allows.
Moza Pit House Software
The Moza Pithouse is the free app used to tune and update the kit. It has a clean design and is generally simple to use, but the tuning options can be overwhelming at first. There are a lot of tunability options and this is when I realized how serious this Moza kit is. It’s kind of like going from simple treble/bass tuning to a 24 band equalizer. The tunability options are great, but there’s also a lot of ways to make it worse. Thankfully, you don’t have to touch any of it for a good experience and there are a lot of tuning tips online if you want to personalize your experience. I barely know what I’m doing, but simply adjusting the damper % and range to 540 made a big difference. And that’s kind of the brilliance of the R3 as an entry level sim racing kit. There’s a lot of fundamental tuning options to learn to maximize your experience and this allows you access to that on an entry level budget. I also like that it automatically scans for compatible games and displays them all on the right.
Conclusion
Should you get the Moza R3 wheel/pedal bundle? Absolutely! It’s a well built sim racing kit that you can build on and grow with. It’s fun out of the box and recognized by most of the popular racing sim games. Casual racers might have more fun with Forza Motorsport than Assetto Corso Competizione, but we all start somewhere. Whether you just want to add a fun experience to racing games or want to start getting into sim racing and are on a budget, this is a fantastic kit to consider.

I had a G920 before this, and I prefer the R3 a lot more than any logitech intro wheel. For the extra $50 or so, you lose the clutch pedal, but gain a more powerful, direct drive wheel with much better quality of life improvements. The R3 is so much more space efficient, has customizable pedal positions, 8 or so extra buttons on the wheel, and the pedals are infinitely easier to clean. That last part is improtant, because after a year or my Logitech pedals began spazzing out because I could not easily clean them.
TLDR:
R3 is a much better intro wheel than logitech G920 or G29, definitely get this instead.

The Moza R3 Direct Drive Sim Racing Bundle comes with an easy to assemble steering wheel and pedal set that I think have a nice realistic look and feel to them. The steering wheel has a comfortable grip and felt very good in my hands. However, I can't get much use out of it because the desk clamps that it comes with don't open wide enough for it to fit on my adjustable height desk. And it doesn't come with any other stand or way to mount it. When I want to use it, I have to use a smaller table in front of my computer desk and that defeats the purpose. The base for the pedals should come with a floor protecting pad or other sort of backing because not everyone wants to screw it into something to stay in place.
Though the steering wheel didn't pair well with most of the racing games I like to play, it worked okay with a couple of them once you got the calibrations synced. It's nice that it can be synced to work with Xbox and PlayStation systems as well, but overall, for a PC wheel, I wasn't all that impressed.

The moza racing wheel is extremely durable and hot swappable! This wheel's quality and force feedback is miles better than any other brand's racing wheel (Logitech). Setup can be a bit confusing for beginners though. Other than that, highly Recommended.

Here's the thing. I am one of those keyboard and mouse folks. Just recently started using a controller on a PC. This was a huge leap for me to start using and boy was I in trouble.
Setting up the wheel and pedals was the easy part. They are built very well. Nice and sturdy. You will have to be trying to break these things if they do break. Easy to put together and mount on the desk. I had to make room for it. My workspace is a mess right now. I will attach a picture of the wheel on my desk. As far as using the wheel I guess it's okay. I seemed to have more control with the controller but I was told by a friend of mine that I didn't configure it correctly. He was shocked that I couldn't get the results I was expecting. He stopped by and got everything working. Once it was setup I actually had fun in the dirt in Dirt 2. I guess watching a bunch of F1 vintage videos is starting to catch up to me 😂 If you are into racing sims I would definitely recommend picking this up if you are on a budget. They make a few more that are a bit up there but if sims are your jam you already know.
I enjoyed using this bundle and I am looking forward to building a dedicated rig for it so I can still use my daily rig and build a new one for racing.
